Just got the call today on my work cel phone.  During the recording I pressed "0" and it transferred me to a live person who asked for what sounded like "Yow Ming" or something.  I told her no such person at this phone number.  We'll see if they stop calling.  I doubt it though.

My friend sent me a message about some kid needing money for a surgery and that I should pass the message on to other friends because the child would receive 50cents for every forwarded message. Once I received that message I have been receiving this annoying message too. Tell your friends not to forward such messages to your phones because this is how these companies get your number.

my caller ID states "out of area" todays message was this 866 number ext 623 ref#........company name UCV????? My phones are on the "do not call list" I am not behind on bills and do not appreciate the several anoying calls.  What is this company?

I receive calls from an unknown number. Whether I answer or let it go to voicemail, I am told to call 866 216 4424 and provide a reference number.

I do not have any outstanding bills. This is a collections company out of Toledo. Google the number and you'll see.

Received the call on a new work cell phone.  Called back and gave them the reference number.  They asked if I was some name I could barely understand.  I told them no and that they were calling a brand new cell phone.  The said they would remove the number.  We'll see.

I keep getting calls from this number telling me to call back and when I do they want a reference number, the company calls everyday. It is very annoying.

I could barley hear them and they said they are a collection agency wanting to collect a debt. I said what is your company name and they couldn't come up with a name to answer me. So I then said could you transfer me to someone that can help me and they hung up on me.

I finally called them back since I get two or three calls a week from this company. The caller ID says "Unknown". It was a legitimate collections agency. I owed a $25 and some change on a medical bill that had been submitted to my health insurance, but not paid in full by it. The Indian agent did not ask me for my ss# or anything like that. He was polite and verified my name to me after I read the reference number to him. The date of service and amount are correct, so it was legitimate. He asked if I wanted to take care of the balance today and I said I would prefer to pay it by mail. He is sending a bill with a return envelope.

Weird, because the person I spoke to clearly said the company's name and repeated it when I asked him to. I was polite to him and he was polite to me. It is a collections agency.

I have a message in with the medical provider to verify that I do, indeed, owe anything. From the sounds of it, UCB is *bad* news.

The company is United Collections Bureau.  Their caller ID comes up as 419.  Their voicemails are always half cut-off and they never leave a reference number, just a number to call back (1-866-216-4424).  When I called them back, the customer service representative was exceptionally rude.  He asked for my reference number and I told him the voice mail never leaves one.  He then asked for the name of the person who left the message.  I told him that it is a computerized voice, not a person.  He accused me of lying to him and that there is always a reference number.  He then asked for my phone number, which I refused to give him.  Clearly, they already have it, and probably have caller ID.  He then told me that I was wasting his time.  I asked to speak to his manager.  He told me he was not allowed to transfer me to his manager without a reference number or my phone number.  I told him at that point that I have no outstanding debt and that I would be having my lawyer give them a call back, then hung up.  They were unbelievably RUDE!

I've been getting calls for months. I've always called back, but never got through to anyone. I just get an answering machine that is full. FINALLY! I finally got through to someone a week ago. I asked what it was about, he said I had a bill for under $50 for part of a hospital visit I had months ago. I told him I've never received a paper bill of this. He said he would send one. They had the wrong address listed, I corrected it for them. Over a week later and still have not received a paper copy of the bill. I'm still getting the calls. I tried to call back today again. Got sent to the full voicemail.

I'm not sure if this is legit. Look at all the complaints here! I don't want anything on my credit, but this is so shady.

I received a call at WORK from an unknown number. I was left a voicemail that provided a call back number and a reference number. So I called the number back (18662164424) and the voicemail system (yes they asked me to leave a message) said they were Solar World Industries America. went to their website and I have no CLUE why they would be calling me.

They have been calling at least once a day for months.  Reference number left but no other information.  They never answer return calls.  Will be filing a harassment charge.

Programmed my phone to reject calls that caller ID reports as "419," so I no longer have any voicemail messages, or hear anything but a brief ring.  They are persistent buggers, though.  Called 9 times in 41 minutes!  Sounds like one of the button pushers at UCB is about as annoyed as his company makes others.

This number called me saying I owe a debt of $30 for an unpaid medical bill. They would not identify themselves and I could barely understand a word they were saying. I believe this is a fraudulent call because I have no knowledge of any unpaid bill and this was the most unprofessional call from a collector that I have ever heard.

Two phone calls so far for me.  The caller was obviously from the Mideast and I couldn't understand a damn thing he said, except for the phone number (which he gave twice), his extension and the reference number.  Other than that, everything else was pure gibberish, spoken in an incredibly urgent tone.  He ended the last call with "I am expecting your call."  I listened to these messages five times, trying to figure out 1) The identity of the person calling, and 2) What the "reference" code actually referred to.  I'm so glad I googled the number to find out it's some kind of a scam.

I received a call from this outfit 8-9-2010 ** as I was listening to my answering machine they were trying to contact someone I don't know but did receive an invoice from some medical place in the mail several months ago with that name and my address so I called the number in the phone book for that medical place and was told to mark the mail ** return to sender ** and they would take care of the problem ** now it seems all that was done was to send to collections --- and for calling 866-216-4424 ** their answering message said they could not handle my call right now and please call back later ****** well I've wasted more time than I should have on this problem already so I will not call them back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you

I got a call from this number and and called it back.  It is a collection agency.  They are calling for someone I have never heard of.  I asked them to take my number off of their list and they said they were in the process while I was on the phone with them.  They said they were sorry for the inconvience.
