- Trying to scam SENIOR CITIZEN!| 1 replyYou called the wrong person. 5 different numbers every day. Same bogus message. On my cell phone only. Every time you call me I will be calling my Attorney General. It is a total scam. Go to work and earn an honest wage.

- Resident47 replies to BigA| 1 replyI've older notes on Aargon Collection Agency / ACA in Vegas making it a/k/a Bourassa Law Group and Total Credit Recovery.
- BigA replies to Resident47Thanks, I'll add those and see if I can dig up anything on the names. None of those names are on the Federal complaint I dug up for people and businesses that are located at Aargon's address.
- WolfmanJack replies to UnkownUsing the information in my post and the information on Page 2 posted by CWG40, you send them a certified letter telling them to cease and desist. You file complaints on them, and you also sue them.
- fresguysame type of call trying to collect on a 17 year old check that was not a bad check to begin with. They texted me a photo of a copy of the check that had been paid and cleared...front and back on same page of paper. I asked for a text of color photo of front of check in a photo and a separate photo of the back of the check . Thats when they would begin to argue. Also refused to give a physical address for correspondence.
They also use phone # 334 730 4716 and 559 634 9112. If you google
the 4716 number wiil bring you to this page eventually the 9112 has no info at all
The merchant the check was written to said they at one time used a firm called data check as a clearing house but they shuttered many years ago. They also use a number 323 207 7888.
They asnswer the phone as "legal department " or "litigation department"- Call type: Debt collector
- B| 1 replyI received numerous calls from this company. Area codes from AL, GA, OH, CA, SD, FL
They were attempting to collect a check from 20 years ago written to Winn Dixie. I was told they paid the debt 20 years ago and I owed them $100 collection fee, $70 NSF fee and the amount of the check. But if I paid today I could save $130. I told the agent any NSF from a grocery store 20 years ago would have me settle the check, it did not go to a third party for payment. I was told he was not going to waste any more time on me. Apparently a busy place with all the complaints.- Caller: Data Check of America

- maderagirlI have been receiving constant calls from (559) 634-9112 on my cell phone and home phone. Messages left on both with (866) 218-3402 number. Stating a NSF from my bank. The only information I could get is a so called NSF check from 2007 for $21.05. I went to my bank, they stated it sounded like a phishing scam and to NOT give out any information. I called to ask for a copy of my check, front and back, they could mail to the address on the check so that my bank can further look into it. I also told them this has been noted as phishing and the fraud dept at my bank will get all information to look into. They continued to argue, no check has been mailed, no calls returned with the information I requested and I have been rudely spoken to and hung up on. Still receiving constant harassing calls with messages from both numbers.
I do not have any debt reported as a collection on my credit report, if it were to ever happen I have overdraft protection on my account.- Caller: Data Check - paydata.com

- Linda| 1 replyask for personal information about my bank and checking account
- Caller: scammer
- Alfalfa replies to LindaHow can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:
The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.
The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.
The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.
The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.
Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.
Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/ - Leanne.k replies to UnkownI received 3 in 24 hours. Did not call them back due to I am positive I have no issues at my bank. Has anyone reported them? This is bad and some people fall into it and trust they are real, sad. Hopefully someone stops them now...
- GKFThese calls for a returned unpaid item from our bank started in latter March 2016. My caller ID shows the following numbers calling (205) 419-2950, (404) 856-0074, but the garbled message says to take care of this matter before its 24 hr deadline is to call (866) 218-3402. I will not call this number back.

- Coleen replies to Ed"Jessica" has been calling me saying legal action will happen from 2 stopped payment checks (which my bank did) that happened 13 years ago due to my new checks being stolen from my porch. She claimed the only thing that would do any good is if I sent her a police report. She wanted me to go on line so she could send me the checks in question, which I did not do. I dug up my fat file from that check theft experience while she was on my phone and found copies of the very 2 checks they were questioning me on. I told her I was having my bank call them since they were the ones who handled everything and I had not heard anything about all of that for these 13 years. She hung up on me. This call came out of Atlanta. But I have been receiving calls from an Alabaster, AL number as well which says it's the same company. I called that number and they hung up on me.
- Normavoice message stating that I have a garnishment on my bank account. To call 866-218-3402
- Caller: no co. stated
- GAGIRL706Yes this company has been calling me, they even called my home number. I have no idea how they got my information. Contacted the place I supposedly wrote the check and they said I would have to contact that company. they claimed it to be a legit company but with so many reviews, I don't think they are. Plus its been over 14 years and if I wrote a bad check for less than $100 I think my bank at the time would have told me or not let close my account without settling the debt. Also this never showed on my credit file. They even said that they sent me a summons to my address in 2001 and I never responded. My mom still lives at this place after 30 plus years and never once had she mentioned anything.
