I called Air Canada they are not a client of Merchant Cash Direct. They never heard of them. What a scam reference next you will tell me some other scam names. Hi Guys!

I am a former employee of MCD. I was broke and looking for a well paid job somewhere in downtown Montreal. I saw their add in the Montreal Gazette and decided to apply. I was hired the same day. After only a week I realized that their add in the newspaper was a total false representation. They indicated that we would be earning something like $20/hour + commission. We were actually paid $10/hour + commission, if we managed to have a minimum 10 faxes sent in per week. the administration there is ridiculous, there are new employees every week, employees being fired on a daily basis, arguments in the office over whos fax is whos etc.

This company completely misleads people into believing that Visa and MasterCard processing companies have recently reduced their rates, and to have them send in their processing reports for a "rate analysis". The rate analysis is complete by two crack [***] students who do not give a rats [***] about anything but extended breaks and talking about going out. Anyone who faxes in their information is at risk, as the papers sent in are scattered all over the office for anyone to view.

MCD will ALWAYS recommend that you switch to NOVA ELAVON, regardless of whether you will save or not. MCD is paid to get clients to switch to NOVA, and is paid as a referrer.

I quit after only a few weeks. This is honestly the MOST ridiculous company I have ever had the misfortune of working for, and i am honestly sorry to hear that it is still in operation.

I hope that everybody who receives a harassing phone call from this company will take action and report them to PhoneBusters ( RCMP and OPP ) and or the BBB, and above all DO NOT SEND IN YOUR INFORMATION TO THEM, ONCE YOU FAX THEM, THEY WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE!

I am sueing Merchant Cash Direct. Do you know any of the full legal names of the staff that work there? Why do you say the adminastaration is ridiculous? Do you know of anthing that could be useful to someone sueing the co.? If so what? How long agao did you work there? Who hired you?

Interestingly enough, I work for an acquirer. Yes...a legitimate, payment card processor.  After having several clients complain about the tactics of these guys, I finally called them myself. There was no answer and no option to leave a message. So I gave up. Within seconds of hanging up, someone called me asking if I'd just called their number.
Had the same exprerience - it was awful.  Coming from the industry, I was able to ask them some pointed questions about Interchange fees, Merchant Discount Rates, Rental fees, etc...she was unable to answer any questions - only persisted in asking for my statements (I was pretending to be a merchant). She did say that they are paid by the banks to reduce my fees - yah, that's has to be true - Every BANK out there is paying people to reduce their revenues!!!
After 40 minutes and a strong - NO, NOT INTERESTED - she called me back 3 times. After my threat to report them to the Better Business Bureau, she hung up on me.  
5 minutes later I got a call from someone claiming to be a manager at 'MY COMPANY" - completely flabberghasted, I looked up his name in my company directory - nope...non-existent - and then when I asked for his contact information including email address, he hung up on me.
The strange thing is - who would every do business with someone who so clearly and so desperately needs it - so badly, that they have to harrass you to no end. Merchants, these days, are intelligent, savvy and conscientious (and in many cases respectful) of their business relationships.  In Canada, we pride ourselves on a culture of proper business etiquette - harrassment, prodding, snooping and hanging on people does not fit the bill.  Sorry Merch.Cash.Direct or Cndn Merch Assctn, or whoever you are....we are not buying what you're selling - and what you're doing is only encouraging clients to contact their true acquirers for the truth, education and information they deserve.
