an INVESTIGATOR called me from this number asking me to confirm location information on my brother.  He said they're trying to find him as a witness to a car accident 3 months ago.

Just got a call from this number, private investigator wanted me to verify my ex wife's address, one of her relatives died and left her an inheritance, they're trying to find her. I haven't heard from her in years.

came home and found three calls from this number on my caller ID but no message.

Weird messages from this number that they need me to confirm location information on someone i know but they wouldn't say who this mysterious person is they need me to tell them about.  I think its a private investigator?

When I called them back, someone named Shannon answered "Claim enforcement" but I didn't know who they were calling for so she refused to tell me what it was about.

investigator called me from this number asking me to confirm an address for a Gloria Beckwith but I never heard of her.

An investigator called me today from this number, asked me to confirm location information on Sheila (something), asked me a ton of quuestions about her address, telephone, where she works, etc., but I wouldn't tell him anything because he said his "client" (some attorney) is trying to get her served a lawsuit for something.

I feel this is a scammer.   I rec'd a recorded message from *Jim* who asked to have someone call him back about a conflict - would not give any other details - left the message *hinting* there was going to be a meeting about a person - but he needed details and exact location of meeting.   Would NOT give any more details due to it being a personal nature and he did not want to leave any names on the recorder.   And - he did NOT give his company name.         RIGHT !!!!!!      Funny, he gave his number to call back at 866-247-5865 - but - - -  he was calling from number 800-441-8334 - and that number is from SCAMMERS !!!!!!!

Not going to return his call - Not going to call either number.    DO NOT GIVE HIM A CREDIT CARD NUMBER - I feel certain he is a scammer !!!!!!

I left a post earlier - I got to thinking that this "scam" is just like the scam from phone number  800-441-8334 -    Same speech -    I now feel certain they are scammers - but - I checked with our attorney general of the state -   yep - they are scammers - I was advised by State Attorney General Office - NOT to give them any information - and DO NOT give them your credit card number - Do NOT contact them - all they want is your card number and then they take the money and run.   Next time - they will change their phone number but call you again - ugly cycle this scammers use.     Tips their scammers - give you a first name - not a last name -   do NOT tell you the name of their company -  wants you to call them back with needed information -  yeah - right -   they just want to get you on the phone so they can frighten you with scare tactics.   DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE !!!!!!!

Voicemail left on my business line.  A extremely rude Jessica, extention 1908 if anyone wants to call her back and turn the tables on her....  Investigating someone I know.  Future calls will be ignored.

An girl called me today from this number, left message asking me to confirm location information

These guys have been calling my business number for several months.  Fortunately, I NEVER returned their calls.  They finally left a message that it was for someone else so I put a block on their numbers.  I recently got another call from them again and the message is from a woman who has a very friendly voice and speaks as if I know her.  Her message says

"Hi, It's <name> (also got this same msg from other male and female names). Hey a file has been assigned to my office that I need to review with you and confirm that location information in it is correct or not... It's regarding someone you know and there are some conflicting facts in the file but I can't leave details on an answering machine. [then it is muted for several seconds and then picks back up again] ...again, it's 866247586. Bye. Just ask for me and we'll get this wrapped up. Thanks."

I've also gotten harassing calls from 800-441-8334.  The message says:

"This call is for <woman's name-not mine>.  If we have reached the wrong number for this person, please return our call to ... and we will remove this number from our records.  If this is not <woman's name>, please hang up or disconnect now. If this is <woman's name>, please hold.  There will now be a 5 second time to allow you to avoid the disclosure of this message to you other Individuals.  This call is from My Recovery, a professional debt collector. Please return our call to ... for an important message. Again the telephone number is ... Thank you."

These guys are annoying idiots.  Just ignore them and they will disclose in their messages that it's for someone else.  I learned by law they have to notify you IN WRITING within 30 days of their initial contact to legitimately serve you.  I'm not an attorney but I'm going with that and the fact that they've announced it is for two other people.  I never answered their calls and just google then block their numbers as they come in.  I'd bet that their contract with whomever it is expires if they are unable to reach someone within a certain amount of time.

This is NOT an investigator, they don't want to locate someone you know, they want to locate YOU.  this is a collection agency.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  They know who they are calling, they know where you live, and they know where you work.  They just want to keep you on the line so they can establish that they have spoken with you and given you "notice" of a debt.  They tried that nonsense on me.  When they said they were an investigator, I asked them what they were investigating, what police department they contacted to file a report, and why, if they had my number and were looking for someone else, did they want to know MY address.  I drove that poor girl around in circles.  DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!!!!

I just got off the phone from someone at this claims office stating that I have defaulted on a cit bank credit card. I have never done any business with citi bank, they said could be that citi bank was the underwriter or whatever. They said they could prove I opened it in 2007 ran up bill of $1700 and then closed the account. This is not true. This is the first I have ever heard of this. I asked how they could prove it was me, what if my information was stolen, they said if that is the case than I need to show them a police report for stolen identy in 2007.................I explained again, that this is the first I am hearing of this. I am disabled, hooked up to a machine, in kidney failure among other things. This woman was extremely rude and was yelling and accused me of playing some kind of game???? Finally I just hung up. Do I have any options here??? I don't know what to do?

Got the same voice mail from a Maggie - you can tell its a recording.  I Googled this number and it comes up as:

You can't leave a message with your company name, that to me reads scam and you won't be hearing back from me.

Be advised that under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, if 1st American Law Center is attempting to collect a debt on behalf of their client, they are prohibited by federal law from disclosing that information to third parties.  From these posts, it appears they are attempting to acquire location information from third parties to locate the actual persons they are attempting to collect from.  Under Section 804 of the FDCPA, they are prohibited from disclosing their company name to third parties unless specifically asked by the third party for the name of their company.

It's a call center where they read from a script.. I've gotten the same message from 2 or 3 different people: "Hi, this is (Lauren). Hey, a file has be assigned to my office that I need to review with you to confirm if the location information in it is correct or not.  It's regarding someone you know, and there are conflicting facts in the file, but I can't leave details on an answering machine so you'll need to call me to go over this. I'll be in my office all day today and you can reach me at 866-247-5865. Just ask for me and we can get this wrapped up. Thanks."  I returned one of these calls last year.  I didn't provide any personal information because it seemed very suspicious. I won't answer or return their messages.

SOMEONE BY THE NAME OF ALLEN CALLED AND WANTED TO VERIFY AN ADDRESS ON ME I GUESS.  HE WAS VERY VAGUE IN HIS MESSAGE.
WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS NOT LEGAL BECAUSE TO COLLECT ON SOMEONE YOU CANNOT BOTHER OTHER PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS....PEOPLE WAKE UP...DON'T GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION...THIS IS THE 21ST CENTURY BE SMART!  .
