NAS Collection Agency. If you call them back they'll take your name number off their list - if you tell them you're not "so and so" that they're looking for.

this company national recovery keeps harassing me with that automated system over a person i do not even know. I keep calling that 866-270-6730 number and try telling them i do not know this person but they get rude and when i ask for a supervisor they hang up on me. but the calls keep coming from them everyday.. HELP

I'm tired of having my answering machine clogged by these messages--please use the white pages!!! I am on the 'do not call list', and I hope the FCC fines them into bankruptcy.

I tried to do just that, but they didn't take it off their list and keep calling !

They are looking for someone that has not lived here for 2 years.  I have asked them repeatedly to remove my number from their database but they keep calling.

Keeps calling, once or twice a day for someone who doesn't live here. They will not stop calling although I have repeatedly told them to stop calling. I wish there were something to do. They will never answer me straight about what type of business they are and just hang up. I don't even answer my phone any more (no caller ID).

Keeps calling leaving no messages

This number is frequently on my call ID list but no message has ever been left. Today I was here when a call came in.  I answered and after a few moments, a person came on. A collection call.  I was aware of this attempt to collect on an old debt.  When I explained that the statute of limitations has run out on this account, the woman became beligerent and began to holler.  I remained calm and explained that her company must have bought this account from the original company and I have had no dealings with either entity in over six years. I suggested she check her laws and go back to the orignating company; I do not owe this debt.  She hollered a few more beligerent remarks and hung up. (as a footnote: this is, no doubt, an out-sourced service as the background noise was very loud and this woman had an Indian accent) I advise everyone to check their state's statute of limitations laws... I wonder how many of us are harassed into paying debts which, by law, we are no longer responsible for. Once you make ANY payment on an old debt, it is considered an admission of liability and you are obligated for the entire balance.

Way to hang your hat on a statute of limitations.  Apparently you feel that if you can hold your breath on a debt longer than your creditors, then you never owed it.  Pathetic.  I'd love to watch you spin out of control and light yourself on fire if your employer did something comparable with your paycheck.

PS - You're welcome for the assumption you might actually work for a living.

Way to go LJ. We need to beat this system! All they do is stipe us with their outrageous fees and penalties. F@ck them all. And for you calling us deadbeats, why don't you pick our tab and stop complaining about other peoples affairs a@@hole!

Statute of Limitations laws exist for a reason. You don't like it? Get the laws change. Otherwise keep your morality lectures to yourself.

They start calling @ 8:15AM, and continue to call all day long,  there must be something that can be done about them, I told them that they have the wrong number, and to stop calling, but they continue,
they even called my son who live three blocks away.

Whoever wrote LJ is a Dead Beat... 1st of all "deadbeat" is one word.  2nd you are obviously a collector making your living off of the misery of others.  Why don't you go back and finish high school then get a real job.  Your reference to lighting yourself on fire is a stupid analogy which displays a lack of intelligence and morals.  Your entire industry lives in the shadows of the laws, don't care how you slice it, debt collectors are the lowest of the low in our society. This person keeps calling my phone.  I have only had the number a month or so and do not want to waste my minutes on an automation.  Don't call me.

If you have a separate phone line for your internet that is only for internet without a phone in line tell them it is your new number... then they can call it all they want and you will never know.

I've received calls from this number three times, over three days.  They want to talk to my daughter who doesn't live with me.  My daughter has five children, is divorced from an abusive, dead-beat husband, who doesn't pay his child support.   I told this Agency to not call me again, that I'd pass their number on to my daughter, and it would be her decision whether to deal with them or not.  Believe me, she has enough financial problems trying to raise 5 young children by herself.

Maybe she had financial reasons she couldn't pay it. A lot of us do. Not our fault jobs are limitless and the economy and the budget is in debt. We try and try and still nothing is ever good enough for some people. Shows how small minded some can be. I am disabled and get less than a 1/3 that I used to earn. Is my disability my fault that I now can not pay? If so call my cardiologist.
