I keep receiving the recorded message as well, but when I try to return the call, I get a message saying please hold to wait for assistance then it disconnects. I cannot even get anyone to answer their number!

So...has anyone stopped this "CCB" because this is driving me insane...and how did they find my number if it's not in the phonebook?

If this Company truly is a legal debt collection agency, then why would they make all these inconspicous phone calls and mess up on their phone numbers ? I still think it's rather weird that they found my phone number as well.Unless AT&T gives away phone numbers to buisnesses for a profit,which would be absurd.

I received a phone call from the # 908-982-1822.  It was an automated message for someone who is not myself. The message said :
If you are "John Doe" press #1,
If you are not "John" Doe but would like to leave a message press #2, and
If you need time to get John Does press #3.  

I pressed #2 because I wanted to leave a message that the were calling the wrong number and to stop calling, HOWEVER pressing #2 only brought me to ANOTHER automated message saying that there was a message for "John Doe" and to have "John Doe" call back at their toll-free number... which is
1-866-288-0436.  

So be careful- this number uses numbers that look like regular numbers to bypass the Do Not Call List.  They are a buncha scammers.

214-556-5529 and 866-288-0436 are one in the same privately held companies in Springfield, IL, or so they say.  They have telemarketers out the ying-yang, and yes, they are confirming numbers, because the new law allowing cell phones to be called from the DO NOT CALL list has been released by law.  This has got to stop, I will notify the Attorney General in my state to end this NOW!  My experience has been similar to most of these that follow.

I have been getting calls from this number for weeks. We just switched our number so Im assuming we got some guy's old number becayse the guy they are asking for we don't even know who he is, and he doesn't even have the same last name as we do. I tried to call back but it asks if I know a party's extension and if not to just wait on the line. But I tried "waiting on the line" 3 times! And it would stop ringing and it SOUNDED like someone picked up but no one would say anything. So,I read on here John posted some extension numbers so I finally just dialed one of them and I got someone. They said they took my number off the list so hopefully I won't be getting anymore calls.

The same thing happened to me! Try using an extension number. Thats the only way I got to talk to someone!
I tried the 3545. It worked for me. It was a guy and i don't think his name was Crystal but the extension works.

I keep getting calls from this #1866-288-0436, they say the are looking for a Jessica somebody. At first when i called them back telling them this is not me and to STOP CALL, they say they will. But they don't ever stop calling, now when i call the # someone picks up then they hang up.

They call when i call back to make them aware they have the wrong number they hang up/

So this number calls repeatedly asking for someone whom I know but does not hold my phone number.  They refuse to tell me any information and demand that I give them a social security number????  I would be very wary of these people.

This information was very helpful.  At least I know who it is that is calling me now.  The level secrecy involved with this agency is beyond belief.

I have been getting numerous calls from CCB 1-866-288-0436 saying I owe money but they cant tell me from who or for what. Its very aggravating trying to work when these people continuously call with their foreign accent and you cant even understand what they are saying. I would like for the calls to stop!!

I received a voice mail from this number today saying they were CCB collection agency and I needed to call back.  When I called back they asked if some address was my address and listed of 4 numbers asked if it was the last 4 digits of my soc.  When I told them no they said they would take me off the list.....we will see if tat happens....

These people began to harrass me 15 minutes after I rec'd my cell phone.  They have been relentless...even calling at 2:00 in the morning.  It was kind of funny at first because the person who was calling me kept changing his name and using fake accents.  After a while it got tiresome of trying to tell them that they were had the wrong person and they were terrible bill collectors.  So then I tried to follow their instructions to have my cell number removed.  I talked to what seemed to be a somewhat intellegent human being, who clicked on his keyboard and promised to quit calling my phone.  It stopped for about six months.  I am on the second year of my contract, and they are back. Thanks to these posts, I have an address now.  This is truely harrassment.

I received a call in my maiden name. Called to see what the situation was, found a case of identity theft in a state I do not live. They were actually very nice and are sending me the information so I can see where this all began. I send them proof I've never been there - done deal.

This phone company keeps calling my house and harrassing my family.  The person they are looking for does not live here.  If this does not stop I am filing harrassment charges.

They called my folks 3000 miles away...I mean come on now...I'm not hard to find....+ who does this, and I am on the do not call list in America! lol What a crock.

They call asking for someone who doesn'tlive with me & won't quit calling.  When i ask them to stop they hang up on me.  When I ask for a supervisor, they hang up on me.

The above contacted my Mothers business looking for me.  They said if this is Cheryl Baker press 1, if you are willing to take a message for Cheryl Baker.  She pressed 2.  I have no idea who they are and how they got my Mothers business phone number.  I have been trying to call them for 2 days and wait at least 30 minutes before I hang up and never talk to anyone.
