My parents got the student loan scam message on 6/18/19. “Cynthia Arnold” and the many other aliases she uses. My sister has been getting scam calls for a variety of things also from same soft spoken lady who uses different names and agencies. I recorded it on iPhone voice memo from my parents answering machine then sent to my sister. Sister heard voice and knew right away it’s the same lady scamming. “Cynthia” and her scamming cohorts know the student loan debt crisis is big thing right now and if they can lure just one person to call back it’s all worth it like others have said. You got to admit she has a lovely, calming voice. She’d be a good guided meditation guru if she wasn’t a scammer.

I got the same call as everyone from "Cynthia" with the exact same ref# "220004".  The very next day I got another call from "Carol Duncan" with ref# "550506" with call back #866-290-5665...exact same message and Cynthia & Carol are the same person.

Voicemail (even though I had no missed call) in reference to my federal student loan and payment options.  Was given a reference number and asked to call back.

Cynthia called to say she was calling with repayment of student loans of which I have none either BS crap

Please do not verify any info with these people and block their number, they somehow got my ssn and pretended to be with student loan consolidation !!!!! Block them ans report

The call came in as unknown so we did not answer.  Voicemail said it was Cynthia about my student loan.  And to call this number with the code she gave me.  SCAM!!!

Got the same call from Cynthia Arnold that the terms of my student loans had changed and to call back, using the same reference #220004 everyone else is getting. I got this same call a couple of weeks ago with a different name and reference number. My mother called the number back on the weekend and it went to some scammer phone tree. I am still in school and have loans so was a little worried. Her voice and manner seem authentic but all my loan communication has been done via email. Glad I googled the number and saw other people getting the same call.

SCAM - said it was about my student loans.  Figuring someone may have used my name/number/information, I called.  Was removed from list

Exact same message and even the same ref#!!!!  Beware!

this is a scam while i do have a student loan it is due to being starting to be paid off till after i gradute, also she gave me this same number cynthia did as well as the reference code of 2200044 the orignal number she called from was a 6053095434. dont call back scam!!!

Definite scam!! Caller left message saying they were calling in reference to "federal student loan" and "needs to discuss repayment options" gave a call back number (866) 303-9009 a "reference number" 220004. No legitimate company name given.

Called about student loans, did not mention the name of the company she worked for.  Also, left a reference number.  The number that came up on my phone was 1 405-583-1071

Same. Ditto the 220004 reference # , name (Cynthia Arnold the fake debt collector) and eerily calm tone of voice. I have no college loans, she needs to be pickier with her targets. Her phone # showed on my caller ID as 620-273-0659 out of Cottonwood Falls, KS. Could be meaningless since scammers use other people's numbers to commit their crimes. I'll try blocking every new # she calls from b/c there were two other messages from her this month but I didn't match up the different origination #s with the messages on my old-school answering machine, unfortunately. Maybe she was also the 'CASSOC POLICE' from Nebraska that showed up on my caller ID a few days ago??

SCAM!!!!!!  I got the same federal student loan call. They want your social security number most likely.  If someone actually talks to this person, tell her that you are reporting her and the numbers to Federal Trade Commission.

What is the scam? What are they trying to get?

Gee, I wonder if they are trying to do what all crooks do and get money from people?
