same thing I called him back and they said that it was a payday loan that I failed to pay and I told him I don't have a payday loan I take care of all the bills and that was contacting my lawyer have a good day and hung up on them I also recorded the call

I returned the call and he asked me if he was speaking with me and stated the last four digits of my SSN. He mentioned his name was Derek and that he was with a company that I could not make out since his accent was very heavy.  I told him not to call me that he was a scam artist.  He immediately hung up the phone.  I've blocked both numbers.

I used to work for a background screening firm that supplied credit reports. Through our audit process we identified a client who was submitting correctly names and addresses (just like you could get from an old fashion phone book) but with incorrect SSNs. The way the system worked it would return the credit report along with the CORRECT SSN. Then the client had all the information needed to fraudulently open new lines of credit / credit cards. The qualification process to become a client has become much more stringent and there are likely other safe guards in place as well now. This was 20 years ago... but it goes to show that criminals are very resourceful at stealing identities. Like someone else mentioned here, if you call and speak with these people they will have your voice recorded which can be cut up and reassembled to make you say a variety of things. Imagine what they could do with just your stating the last four of your SSN and answering “yes”. Having your address would help them narrow down where you likely bank. I’ve had my credit or debit card info stolen a few times. Most recently used to buy $99 in diesel fuel paid at the pump. I know they could clone my card to make a duplicate for use, but these pumps usually require a zip code when used as credit or PIN if as debit. I still have no idea how they could have gotten that. Again, criminals are often very capable.

Don't do it and definitely don't give them your personal info. It's a scam - they call from several numbers pretending to be a debt collection agency. They are not. Report them if they continue to call you.

You did the right thing....they called me too from a different number. And they claimed the same bogus debt. Report them.

They are lying....trying to scam you and others out of money. They are not a legitimate company. Do not give them your personal information. They try to con you into doing so by providing limited info. Don't do it. Just ask them info on their company and see what they say-  then look them up. You won't find anything legit.

This company is a complete scam. Always ask questions to verify whether or not they are a legit company first. You will find that if you ask questions they can't validate their own credibility.

Same thing happen I told the woman to send me the paperwork  and I would get with my attorney she said I would get it in 10 it’s been 2 months I knew it was a scam they say I owed Cash USA 1700.00 they would settle for 500.00  I laughed and said just send the paperwork. 🤣🤣

We are calling you from Amazon , we need you to call us, to confirm That you charged $799 to your Amazon account. Sorry I don’t have an amazon account 😡

Same as Everyone, Got calls first, they even called my sister a few years ago I happened to have been in a chapter 13, so I sent it to the Lawyers. 2 years later they are asking again.  Now every 2 to 3 months I get the text from a new number to call this number with case# RJL5644.. mine is a payday loan from like 10 years ago... which would have been seen on the chapter 13 but was not so....
