someone claiming to be Legal Dept of Asset Management California is making harrassing calls from 1-866-327-7180

A man, going by the name of 'Gordon Frost', called me from this number and claimed he was from the Legal Department of Asset Management. He was asking me a LOT of personal questions that I cannot fathom why he would need them - my D.O.B, date of hire, salary, place of employment etc. I did not give him any details and insisted that he write to me in letter regarding whatever he wanted to speak to me about. Gordon came up with a load of baloney saying his office did not have a printer and could not send me mail. I told him that I would only communicate in writing and hung up.

He has not called my landline again but has left a voicemail on my cell-hone referring to me as a 'Harry West'. I am not Harry West and he knew my actual name on the landline call, so why refer to me as Harry in the voicemail? The whole thing reeks of a scam so should be ignored.

I recieved a simmilar call and they are saying I am being sued for a credit card bill that they don't have any information on....
They only have my cell phone number and some crazy story about how if I didn't give them my credit card number over the phone now or pay with a money gram at wal-mart that I was going to have to appear in court.

I am going to report them because this is insane!

I HAD TO MAKE A DOWN PAYMNT OF $300.00 AND WILL MAKE MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR $150.00 A MONTH UNTIL THE AMOUNT IS PAID OFF. I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS THE SAME OFFICE BUT THE DUDE I SPOKE WITH WAS COOL

We received a call at work and a lady saying she was Tory Kahn immediately asked for procedures for filing a subpoena with the Sheriff's department. The secretary took a message and I called back asking for Tory Kahn and was told that there is no one by that name that works there. I explained that I worked for the local courts and that I could have a deputy call them back with the details of serving a process paper on this matter. The lady freaked out and after giving her the account number that they provided she said a Ms. Miller ext. 335 was handling this account and that they only handle paperwork at this call center. She said that they don't handle that sort of action.

Sounds like a bunch of debt collectors trying unscrupulous means. They still haven't told me what accounts or what the matter is that they were calling about. If they call back I'm going to tell them not to harrass me at my place of work-which is covered by law.

Someone from this number called and represented themselves as from  the "legal department," left a reference number as well as stated they were calling from the local county clerk's office. The officials at the clerk's office said no such calls were made from there as well as no such call from the Clerk of Courts office. The number left was an 866 number and had nothing to do with local county legal offices.

The local Sheriff's office had heard of such scams and noted that it was illegal for the caller to represent themselves as calling from the legal office of the local Clerk of Courts.

This number has been reported as a phone scam/debt collection illegal tactics.

Received a call from a blocked number with caller stating they were from the clerk's office (didn't specify what county) and are trying to serve papers to a family member of mine.  I told them I don't live with them and they proceed to threaten the family member with a warrant, say they've attempted to serve papers twice already.  I told them to leave the "case number" and the 866-327-7180 phone number to call back, and I'll pass the information to the family member.  I checked the county clerk's office for the case number and the number was in the wrong format.  Then, I searched the number and found this page as a result.  Obviously misrepresenting themselves, and even hassling un-involved family members like myself.

I received a call today from the 866-327-7180 to at my home phone and two other family members phones also.  Which the funny and scary part was he ask for me and my ex, which we haven't been together for over 9 years and one of the family members just moved into a new house.  How he got the numbers is a mystery? The caller stated that he was Micheal Jones from the legal department about a complaint.  Also left a case #.  I was trying to find out who he was and found this site.  Which now, I am very unsettle about this because how much more does this person know about the people he is calling.

Michael Jones called my work place and indicated he was with the Litigation Department, Court Processing Division, State of Florida and was going to serve me at work if I didn't pay $500 that day and agree to pay $255 a month thereafter for six months.  I offered an arrangement of reduced payments and then came upon this sight and emailed them asking them if it wasn't illegal for Mr. Jones to misrepresent himself as a representative of the State of Florida.  Must be hard to do from California.

Keeps calling about some papers and case ID.

They are probably taking you for your money, you should make sure that its legit, and try to contact the actual lender or that credit card to see who the debt went to.

Does anybody have an address on these people?  They tried the same thing on me and although I am fine my poor ole mom is a total wreck.  If anybody has a physical address for this number I would appreciate it.

Talked to the 'Director' Pamela Matthews. Researched them on the BB site, 'F' rating of course and Pamela listed as the contact person. Michael Jones called, of course Pamela denied knowing him. Except the game has changed. Go to trapcall dot com for your cell phone, after a simple setup you will be able to see that Michael Jones' [or whom ever name they are using] number and trace it back. Spoke to a Kathy last night and she said 12 people were fired for abusing the collection laws. This company breaks the law I feel. If you go to the City Of Corona's website, you can file a online complaint. EVERYONE DO THIS. Also contact the FTC. Use names and times. I have current and ex-employees giving me information - thank you and keep it coming.

Has anyone just ignored these people? Are they really going to send a uniformed officer to my work? They are saying I owe a debt from back in 2003 by have not provided me with any proof of this debt.

The address is a mail stop address it isn't a brick and mortar business address.  Make them serve you papers or send you something in the mail.  If they are not legit then it becomes mail fraud.  Serious felony.  I have been thinking about pursuing a more legitmate investigation of this company.  Has anybody done this yet?  If so, what were the results?

Don't let them bluff you.  If it is legitimate debt then the same thing will happen in court as what will happen over the phone.  Make them serve you papers or send you something in the mail.  THEY WORK WITH A FEAR FACTOR!! Don't fall for it.
