Calls come in every few hours daily from as early as 0730 & as late as 2230. I use call screening; they never leave a message.  Can this # be blocked?

Called 17 times during the last three weeks including six times yesterday.  I've blocked their calls, but they just don't get the message.  I'm going to file a complaint with the FCC for a second time.  I suggest that all you folks do the same.  Thanks

I suggest you both file the complaint AND call them back.  Let them know you are on the Do Not Call List, and that you WILL be filing a complaint.

I just spoke with "ella", and gave her a piece of my mind.  I haven't had a discover card for more than a year.  She was calling to offer me some "additional service".  I said "on a card that is no longer open?  Seems ridiculous"  I insisted they remove me from whatever call list they have, or they can expect to hear from ME continually.  And I too, can be quite rude.

I have been receiving calls every day from this number and when my husband answers they will not let him talk to them and say they can only talk to me. They say they are from a department with Discover card but when my husband called them out on it saying that Discover had no record when we called them back, the person on the phone pretended to be a recording then started laughing. We called Discover again and they said that there is a chance that it could be their marketing department but they couldnt check becuase they have different databases but she told me she could take me off of their marketing list so Discover card wont call anymore unless something is wrong. she said that would take up to 72 hours. I just did this tonite and I will come back and post again if I have any other calls.

Been getting a call from these people, today right when the guy started talking I told him, No Thank You and hung up.  He had the nerve to call me back and wanted to know why I was rude to him.  I told him that I wasn't interested, he then started berating me for being rude.  I told him that wasn't rude this was, then cursed him out.  Then hung up.  They called me again and this time the guy cursed me out.  I wonder what can be done about that?

They just called back!!  An hour after one person called me and cursed me out they just called again!  This is ridiculous!

I also get calls from 866-376-0771. WHen the recording picks up they hang up I googled the number & came up with Discover Card which I don't have & don't want.I already told those morons eons ago i DO NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED I am on the DO Not Call list & filed a complaint against them yesterday. So today I returned the call SPoke with a woman who sounds like she is from India & I told her i DO NOT WANT to be called and she says I will be taken off their list which I doubt I am going to see if I have legal recourse because this is harassment esp since I don't have a DIscover card , don't want one & because of their practices like this I wouldn't get a Discover card now for love or money.SO what goode is the Do not call list if these people can get thru?

Same experience as above.  I blocked their number after the first call, 36 calls ago since 09/03/09.  Ten calls yesterday and 5 calls so far today.  How's that for determination.  More like hitting one's head against the wall!  I filed two complaints on the "do not call" website and am about to file another.  Do the same folks.

Continued calling from this number on 10/4/2009 & 10/6/2009. My number is on the "do not call" list.

Calls over and over, but won't answer. I just lay the phone down until they hang up, it's their nickel.

At least two calls a day. If we answer, no response. Also no response on answering machine. Thank goodness for caller ID. Also on NCL. (Can't SOMEONE investigate???)

I answered and they said it was to offer a special inviation for discover card members. Strange thing is there is too much noise in the background and tons of static on their end. SCAM! I think so.

** CAUTION **
Do not accept the call.  They will often times place you on the involuntary unemployment plan even though you declined.  This is a sister company owned by Discover.  If you accept the call, you are running the risk of an “unfortunate miscommunication.”  Keep it simple. Do not answer the call.  Some telephone companies do offer a telephone block service.

I received 3 calls (this number being one of the 3) from 3 different numbers within 30 seconds of each other.  The really bad thing is it was 6am :/  I contacted my phone company which is Northstate Communications and they have a service that will block up to 12 numbers for $4.00/per month.  Well worth it to have them stop calling!  Contact your phone company today to stop these bogus calls!

I get calls from this number daily, and my story matches most everyone else's. I'm on the Do Not Call and have been for a long time, I've asked the caller to put me on the DNC three times to no avail and I've emailed Discover. No luck. But, here's what I've just tried and I think it may work.
I figured that they are a 'sister company' to Discover, and that Discover has a privacy policy I could opt out of. I looked and they do, you'll need the last four of your account number, zip code and last 4 of your social. Call 1-800-225-5202 (automated), and/or you can go read their policy and learn how to mail them on this privacy policy

If you have more than one card with them, have all your accounts ready and they can do more than one account during your call.

I hope this works.

And...you can also go online and under your Personal Profile on the Discover site, you can delete your phone number information.

I forgot to mention that I also called and talked to a nice lady at Discover who said the same thing about 'different databases' and 'it may take awhile to get my name out of the databases'. She didn't mention how long. Sooooo, I'm just doing it the way I mentioned a few minutes ago...calling the privacy line for Discover.
