Called my friends Mom and left a message that I had her down as a contact and they wanted me to return the call. It was from HCESI (?). I havn't had any calls on my phone personally and don't remeber putting her down for a contact.

Caller named Connie Kay or Caine has called continously and daily for several weeks to my work number for an employee who hasn't worked here for 2.5 years. She leaves a number to call back at ACSI student loan collections, 866-376-7835, ext. 1104

8663767835 called neighbor, stated looking for my son. Caller gave direct extension #1102. I, being the Mom, researched the internet and found this website!

Man with deep voice calls and claims to be Ron Powell and wanted us to call 866-376-7835 to verify info about my friend.  My friend did not have student loans and other loans outstanding but explained to me that they also did not apply for a job and did not give our number as a reference.

Received a call for an unknown person. Has occurred multiple times over the past 5 months. Asked repeatedly to stop calling with no success. Have been told for the past 3 months that my number will be removed from their system. Attempting to collect on a default student loan which I have no involvement at all. Has come down to threatening to sue them for harassment since they choose not to honor my request and wishes. Also have been on the federal do not call list since the start.

Got a message from this number, caller ID 6156901658. Called them and only got a recording. I don't have any school loans. Pulled my credit report to verify that I don't have identity theft, etc. No negative information reported. Will disregard this unless they call back.

Any results from anyone else?

Got a call from 866 376 7835 (extension #1102) by man called Matt Clark. He said he was from ACSI and that my son gave him my home phone as an alternate contact. He wanted me to get in touch with my son and have him call the above number. This automatically raised up a red flag as my son's telephone number is readily available. No reason was given as to why I should tell my son to call him back. If Matt Clark wants to talk to my son he should put forth the same amount of effort to get his phone number as he did mine!

They don’t seem to have a contract with the Dept. of Education to collect student loans.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I've been getting calls since 1999 from many different debt collection agencies looking for the woman who had my phone number before I did! It never stops, but at least it is much less frequent now. I didn't pick up, but thank you for the comments on this site. I'm sure now it was a debt collection agency looking for her again.
