If you report them to the BBB they will actually send the complaint to the the next day..
You will actually get a call from them with a name, number and everything you would require, including an apology.
From what I'm told they will remove your name and stop calling.

When I answered the call there was silence like it was one of those autodialers and then the caller picked up a few seconds after I answered.  The caller said "How are you today".  I simply asked "Who's calling?" The caller answered "Oh I have the wrong number".  

Are these people just trying to verify that our phone numbers are active and then they sell our numbers to other telemarketers or may just prescreening for their own telemarketers to call us later with a sales pitch?  I get these kinds of calls a lot where these "out of area" and "tollfree number" callers hang up when I answer.  Sure is annoying.  I should just ignore them but I like to "cuss them out" if they start some kind of sales pitch, but nowadays most of them just hang up.  Strange.

They will not take a no. They call and call. I have talked to a supposedly talked to a supervisor with no luck. I would not use their product if it was the last thing around

Undoubtedly, Abstar Financial is at it again ... only a different telephone number.  They called and got my answering machine, but did not leave a message.

FYI, if you search the web for "Abstar Financial", you can click on other complaints. I can't help wondering if the owner of this company is aware of the tactics used by its employees ... not a very good way to run a business.  Abstar?  ARE YOU LISTENING?

Yeah they called our business line and i entertained their blabber for a few minutes then they said theyd be around on Monday to collect a statement of accounts...

Caller left message saying he wanted to know more about our services and he would be tyhere until 5:30. Since it came up as a toll free number (I never answer those, I checked the number against the other toll free numbers on my caller ID. Turns up there were 15 calls over a two week period from the same number. We're a "Cash Basis" business so we obviously don't owe anyone anything. I didn't bother calling back. To me this is just another one of many nusince calls.

Scum.  They get your number off of State directories of businesses which are illegal to use for spamming.  They will not remove you from their database.  If you say anything they are incredibly rude.

Do not buy anything from them, ever.

Received a call left on my voice mail saying they only got names and numbers for businesses with Dun and Bradstreet.  I called back and got a recording telling me if I wanted to be removed from their calling list to enter my phone number followed by the pound sign.  When I did this the recording said "Your number has been added."
ADDED???  It was suppose to be removed!!!  To top it off, this has been my private cell number for years and only recently did we begin using it for a brand new (like less than one month old) non-profit organization.  It is our hotline for parents whose babies have died.
I can't wait for these sleezbags to call back.

Our Sec answered 1-866-359-5829 caller ID. A Male Asked for me by my Full Name. He was aked for his name and number he didn't give it. Said It's " A Personal businesss Call", but wanted to speak to a "Co-Worker".

As our Sec asked for more of his information - He hung up.

Called at 8:30 a.m. asking for me.  Wife answered phone and told female caller to call back after hours, refusing to give out my office number.  I called the incoming number twice and obtained an automated call screener.  The screener announcing that they were a business to business finance company, and they "obtained 100% their information from Dunn and Bradstreet".  I am not a business, and the number I have at home was never associated with a business.  Doesn't seem like Dunn and Bradstreet would have information on me as a business; do they have information on individuals?

The automated call screener says that the company understands that some companies do not want to do business with them, so it gives you the option to remove your phone number.  I entered it and the recording said "thanks, your number has been added"....added to what?  The intent was to have my home phone number removed from the call list.  I hung up and called again, and the response was identical.  Maybe all I accomplised was to confirm that my phone number was legit, but since they call my number and asked for me by name they already knew it was a legit number.  But now they have confirmed that I live there, and since I called their stupid number it probably also recorded my work phone number.  From the looks of information on the internet about this company they are phising for personal information to use illegally (such as confirming names of people at phone numbers)

Very Rude!

Called and asked to be taken off the list, when I asked why they continue to call the girl asked why I was getting mad.  She kept asking for the business owner, I dont' have a business, this is my cell phone!!  I hate them, I don't even think they have a purpose! Very rude!

Received a call this morning from this number & a male asked for my husband.  I asked who was calling & he stated "Abstar" when I asked what it was regarding, he hungup on me.  Since the number was on the caller ID, I did call back to report his rudeness, but, all you can get are computer promts to remove your phone number from their call list.

Have received many calls from 866-395-5829 which I did not take (I do not answer calls that appear as "unavailable" on caller ID). Called that number back, got a recording saying how Abstar gets all its leads from Dun & Bradstreet, if I want my number deleted, enter it followed by the # key. I did so, and the recording said, "thank you, your number has been added." Added? These were the instructions to delete. We'll see what happens next. I am a journalist and I recorded the phone call as "journalist's notes." If I receive another call from them, they'll be hearing from every agency responsible for such matters, and every newspaper that thinks outfits like Abstar need to be exposed and stopped.

called looking for my husband (we are co-owners) i asked what it was regarding & they said regarding credit card processing.  i told them we were interested and they said they will call him back and ask him.

I also received a call from 866-395-5829. A call for the Business owner, affiliated with the Google 411 directory assistance. If I were Google, I'd be pissed!

Just got a call from Apt Star.  The info from "Irritated in Atlanta" from Nov 2007 is very helpful - THANK YOU!  Their current 'make an appointment' techniques sound unchanged from 2 years ago.

I disregard calls from toll-free numbers. No message was left. I'm glad I came to this site.
