Caller doesn't identify themselves or the company that they represent so I'm not returning the call. The only reason I have a landline for emergencies so my services are bare bones and I don't have caller ID.

Message is as follows: "Hello. This message is for (my name).  You have an important matter with our company (and that would be WHO???) that deserves your immediate attention. Please call me (again, WHO are you???) back as soon as possible at the following number, 866-400-3550.  When returning this call, please refer to reference number, ######." CLICK!

The tone of this message is kinda menacing.  I could just imagine some unsuspecting elderly person being duped into returning this call and getting sucked in to who knows what kind of scam they're running.

I screen ALL calls from numbers I do not know.  I only have my cell phone so I don't want to waste minutes.  I have received this same call a few times in the last week.  I am glad I decided to google the number before calling it back.

This call is from a collection Agency, Anderson Crenshaw, from Dallas Texas. Their contact information is:

    Anderson Crenshaw & Association, 12801 N Central Expy # 250, Dallas, TX 75243
    (214) 271-4908
    12801 N Central Expy # 250, Dallas, TX 75243

They are unscrupulous. I had a guy charge me $900 for a 1 hour plumbing job that resulted in a flooded basement and no fix! I later paid another plumber < $300 to actually fix it!!! I paid the first guy $300, which he agreed to and then this agency started calling!!! They just try to annoy you into paying something you don't owe.

We've received several messages from this agency leaving messages for different people whom we have never heard of.  Funny though, that these names all start with same first and last initial as my name. Seems like they're using some random phone lists to track people down. I didn't give them my name, but finally asked "Jackie" at extention 2213 to remove our phone number. We'll see if that works.

An "Andy" called me today, asking for my father by his name. However he did not pronounce the last name correctly, so it was weird. Then they said it was related to something with our old store that we had a couple of years ago. The whole time I thought it was a prank call, but just to see what was up I did *69 and tracked the number (later, after I had hung up) and the reall number IS out of Texas, as Rick had previously informed us, but the number I have is different than the one listed above. It is as follows : (214)- 261-9281. Anyways, sorry for anyone else who has had an inconvenient run in with these [***].

Today I received a message on my land line.  "Larry" was leaving a message for my NEIGHBOR, who "Larry" named. Caller ID said "Anderson, Cren".  I know that my neighbor used to have an alarm system and is disputing the cost.  I wonder how many of us neighbors "Larry" will call.  I shall ignore him.  I'm glad I got onto this website.

Today I have received a phone call from 866-400-3550 and some lady provided the ugliest customer service ever. And then she hung up on me 5 times, I was like "Wow" what a service...I tried calling 4 more times after that to see if I can speak to any manager, but she said, you wanna complaint? well, guess what, we don't take complaints today, we take payments...  and then she hung up on me again. So.. that company is the MOST unprofessional debt collector EVER. WOW, i'm impressed how NOT normal customer service can be. What an employee they hired...

    Upset Ex-Employee Telling All

I am an ex employee who just so happens to agree with most of the posts on this website about this company. There are hundreds of FDCPA violations everyday, there is no wonder there are so many because there is no training of any sorts. Tom hires anything with with lips and legs nevermind the fact that they are incapable of doing the simpilist tasks. Collectors are allowed to call you several times a day if they want, say whatever will get the bill paid, and make threats about leins, garnishments, and lawsuits. Tom doesnt care what happens on the collection floor as long as he gets paid. If you dont get him paid he will take the money from you, your check may be short, or hours missing from your check, but at the end of the day he always gets his money. Half of the accounts are either accounts to old to collect on, no documents at all, or some bogus company he made up and runs himself. It is funny that he has been in business this long. He should have a long list of sexual harrasment suits against him and comsumers should have stood up to this guy a long time ago. You sit around and hear suff that you know is not supposed to be said and he could be on the floor but he doesnt care. Tom has messed over his fair share of people and I would be supprised if he ran away with whatever money the company has left before his day in court because that is the Tom Backel way. There are a few good people that are with the company but most of them have seen the light and left, if you are still stuck to stupid and want to go down with the ship go ahead but if you want any type of future get out now.

Texas AG charges Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates with deceptive practices

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has charged debt collection agency Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates, LLC with violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

In a statement, Abbott’s office says the Dallas-based collection company harassed debtors by mailing deceptive letters and participating in unlawful phone calls during the collections process.

The attorney general accuses the company of mailing letters with false claims to debtors during a 30-day hold period that is allotted to all debtors. Abbott’s office says prior federal court rulings mandate that debt collectors cannot undermine a debtor’s objection to a charge during the 30-day period.

The Texas Attorney General also accuses Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates of threatening debtors by claiming to have filed lawsuits when the company knew internally it did not meet the guidelines required to initiate legal action.

Abbott’s office added, “The state’s enforcement action also accuses Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates of threatening to garnish consumers’ wages or file liens against homesteads in violation of the Texas Debt Collection Act. According to several complaints, the defendant’s representatives harassed, abused and threatened debtors during profanity-laden, repeated or continuous telephone calls.”

Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates was not ready to release a statement about the allegations when contacted Wednesday.

Attorney General Abbott is seeking up to $20,000 in civil penalties for each violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

They call constantly, wont identify themselves and when I tried calling back they were very rude and hateful, so I decided I did not nor will I tolerate someone being so rude that I told them nevermind and hung up and have blocked all the numbers I have and auto reject is now back on my cell phone. And they have no reason to be calling me in the first place as I turned the alarm company over to my lawyer as they were in breach of agreement at start. Here are a few of the numbers that have called
all saying to call the main number urgently 866 400-3550

    Home Security Alarm Scam Victim
I had door-to-door scammer from Provo,Utah who sold two wireless home alarm systems by a company named SAI that did not work most of time with numerous false alarms. Our local police department (Louisville Kentucky) charges $100 per false alarm visit.  I complained to SAI, firm who was received monthly payment of $40 per system per month for monitoring two alarm systems, and with no result.  Shortly, I received a 30-notice that SAI claimed the wireless home alarm systems will be a violation of new federal wireless FCC rules.  Then the monitoring services had cut off.  Soon afterward, Anderson, Crenshaw and Associates started calling me for collecting monthly monitoring fees that they said that I owned even there was no security monitoring provided and then attached to my credit report.  I disputed with them about inferior product/unreliable security monitoring and they ignored. I will further dispute them when I get a chance with all credit agencies.  They are highly unethical in selling unreliable home security systems that do not work and then harassing with daily phone calls to my national no-call phone numbers and ruining people credit rating.
