Just got this phone call never took out a loan in my life this number is a scammer please don't be fooled

I just got the same call. It was from (228) 901-2282 (Mississippi area code) with the same message from Sarah. Scam!

Exact same call & reference number as others. The number that showed up on my phone was 662-734-2188 (Rosedale, Mississippi.)

Sarah Thomas has called 3 times already!  Doesn’t identify from what company she works for or who she wishes to speak to... found that suspicious for sure.  They trick you to believe this is real because she sounds very professional and articulate!  It smells of SCAM to me!!!

Sarah Thomas. Student loans. Called from a 228-220-2555. Said to call back 866-412-6633 with reference 022661.

My student loans are paid, and there's no way everyone has the same reference. Complete scam!

Script is as follows: "Yes this is Sarah Thomas I'm calling in reference to your federal student loan. I need to discuss your repayment options with some new changes that have taken effect recently so if you could please be sure to give me a call back my number is 866-412-6633 and I'm gonna give you a reference number if you would please have this handy when you call back it will make things just a lot easier. Your reference number is 022661. Thank you."

this is a scam everything said above is true. do not be fooled by the American voice, they are just trying to get smarter in their scams, thank you 800 notes, they gave me same ref. number also, must be to see who gets the cut.

Same exact message. Same reference number too. This is 99.999% Scam

Just got the exact same message as above, same ref # 022661 too.  Blocked that number!

I received exact same voicemail message, with an identical "Reference Number." I have never had any federal student loans, so I agree with others on this site that this must be a scam.

Exact same message and same reference number given as to every other caller that received a message from this phone number. Since I do not now nor ever have had any student loans, I am quite sure this is a scam.

New name and ref number but otherwise the same speech. Ref number was 033551

Scam!!! Same person calling Sarah T. Ref number was the same as listed above also: 022661. Called from a different number than the call back number.

Read of these and decided to call the number back left in the voicemail. Pressed option 3 and was forwarded to a lady (who provided her name abs “agent number”) asking for the reference number that was in the voicemail (022661). I saw that everyone here was given the same reference number so I said I didn’t have one. She asked who had called me (Sarah) I said I didn’t know. She said, “okayyyy.... let me look up the number you were called on and see who called you. Give me a minute.” 15 seconds went by “Oh it looks like Sarah called you. She’s on the phone right now but I would be happy to assist you. How much student debt do you have?” I said, “Umm none. I paid it off years ago” (which is factual and it wasn’t even a federal loan it was a private loan) She said, “oh. Why are you even calling back then?” I said, “why are you even calling me to begin with?” She was silent and then I heard *click*
