I received a voice mail yesterday. The caller I.D. said it was 'unavailable', but the message said that it was Joseph from FFG and that I was to call him about a check that I wrote. 1-866-433-6985. It was late in the day, but when I called there wasn't even a message machine saying the company name and their hours.

Do not send these people any money or verify any information with them!
They are a scam.
I'm waiting for them to call, so that I can record the call and sue them.
They are trying to collect a debt that has already been paid in full.
Actually, the company Nor-Star Cash owes me a refund for overpayment on an account.
If an "attorney" is collecting on a debt from an illegal company, I guarantee these people are bottom feeders.
Even if your debt is valid, do not give your money to these people unless you have a debt verification letter sent via USPS.

This number has called me repeadly (856-481-3159) and when I answer they hang up on me. I just recieved a voicemail from that number from a "Joseph". when I called the number back it was 1-866-443-6985 a guy told me Joseph wasn't able to take the call and would I be willing to talk to his supervisor. I said sure and he said ok that's me. Told me the call was being recorded. He got ignorant with me on the phone and I called him out about it. I told him I would have no problem paying if I did owe some company money. I told him I wanted the proof that I owed money to a company mailed to me in writting. His response was ok I can do this for you and hung up on me.

I have been getting  a call from Joseph every day for about two months. I am not returning any calls!

I got this call as well. I called them and asked for something in writing in regards to the "debt." I was asked for an email address so I gave them a fresh made gmail account used for this purpose. I never recieved any emails from them so my thoughts are they are just trying to scare people into paying. I will call them again and ask for it in writing again as by law they have to provide you with proof of the debt.

Anyone have any proof they got sued? Case number?

I got the same call, same name, same message, same numbers. Wanted me to call him, "Joseph", at 1-866-443-6985. He's calling from 702-463-7934

This company called me, too, and when I called back I was hung up on when I asked for information about this company and the "debt" they were calling about. I had my attorney investigate them and he was prepared to sue them for violating the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. Turns out, FFG has been sued several times but they never appeared. My lawyer said there IS no one at FFG to sue! I sent complaint letters to the FTC and the State of Nevada (where FFG is based) and as a result, FFG sent me a letter stating they were taking me out of their database. To date, I have NEVER received any validation of any debt from this company. My lawyer says it's probably a few guys sitting in someone's basement making calls and illegally practicing as a collection agency and mis-representing themselves as lawyers (which they told me they were on several occasions). FFG is a dba (whatever that means) of a larger company, but they are not licensed themselves to practice business. My advice is do NOT give them any personal information, do your research and know your rights. If handled properly and you don't owe any debts, like me, you can stop these people from harrassing you and no, they cannot legally call you at work or sue you. It took a lot of work to get this resolved, but if consumers don't stand up to companies like this, they will continue to operate illegally.

Six years ....depending on your state, I would think hard about the 'statute of limitations'.
