Hi, I too got a call from these fools! The number on my caller id was 559-643-2009. Joseph left the typical message of what every posting is saying, wanting to verify a check that I wrote and calling from FFG and Associates.  As soon as I heard that, I felt it was a scam.  Thank god I found this site.

I got the same call from Joseph from FFG & Associates today and it was from a Washington number which I live in Washington. I don't get how they get their number to look like a local number or Joseph sure moves a lot. I saved the msg. I owe lots of people money my husband's business went under. So if he is a real debt stand in line like the rest. And I haven't seen any court papers yet! I'm just going to keep on ignoring like the rest.

I have received the same phone call from this Joseph character a few minutes ago.  I let it go straight to voice mail.  The phone call was from a 281 phone number.  He stated he is from FFG and needed to talk to me about a check I wrote and to verify information for security purposes.  I have not written a check in nearly 8 years.  I just finished filing a complaint with the FTC and I gave them a copy of this forum so they can view all the complaints.

I keep getting calls from Joseph with his number masked as a local number but the real number is 866 443 6985. He says he needs me to call back to verify some information for security purposes. I figured it was something shady since he never identifies his company/agency. He calls several times a week with the same message.

Thank GOD for the internet!!!  I've been receiving calls from "Joseph" at 866-443-6985 about a check I wrote and he wanted to verify some information. I don't call back strange people wanting to verify personal information and I don't write checks so I KNEW this was some type of SCAM.  Know your rights under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act!  Know your states laws on debt collection, after so many years your debt isn't even collectable, in Texas it's 3 years.  IF you can't pay someone, you can't pay, you write them tell them to stop calling you and put everything in writing.  IF they continue to call report them to your State Attorney General's Office.  TRUST ME the calls will stop immediately OR they will find themselves in court with your state's attorney general.  IF they say or do things not allowed in the FDCPA find a lawyer and YOU SUE THEM!!!  Just do a google search on how many people are getting paid suing people they owe.  If they sue you all they can get is a judgement through the courts, it may mess up your credit for 7 years but that's ALL they can do.  The ONLY people that can garnish your wages are the IRS and Student Loan people, those people you'd better make an agreement with and make payments or in the case of student loans ask for a deferment.  KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!!!

I got a nasty message from ffg by a girl named jonah...she told me she was from the legal dept (which is a lie) and that she was going to send papers to my county courthouse to have me served and sued...then told me they were gonna sue me for up to 5 times of what i owed...These people are a bunch of scammers...First off she needs to learn the laws...They cant even collect a debt from me cause they're not licensed to collect in my state...nor is the attorney they said is representing them...They are full of sh**...People dont be fooled by this company...Dont pay the any money...Record all of your phone calls with them then consult an attorney...

I received a voice mail that went like this " please return my call so that I can verify some security information to validate your identity. My number is 18664436985, ask for Joseph"
This person did not say whom he was trying to contact. He has called several times and each time I let it go to my voicemail. He never says my name or anything. He never identifies the company he is with or the issue hes calling about. The message he leaves is always the same. The funny thing is the caller ID shows a local number 9097403724. Odd..

They  have called several times "about a check I wrote", I knew this was crap because all my checks had cleared bank, and I write very few checks.  I finally called them just to see what the Heck they wanted so they would quit calling.  It was not even for me.  I told them to take the phone number off their list.  It lasted a couple of months, now "Joesph" is calling.  Right!  Not gonna call back this time unless they start calling every night.

I received a call from a Maryland number 443-737-2637.  Joseph from FFG Associates left a message saying he needed to verify information from a check I wrote. I know it's a scam because like most of you, I only write checks for my mortgage and a few other things and I know those checks have cleared.  His call back number was 866-443-6985.  He sounded very official but I'm not going to call him.  He didn't say my name and I'm certainly not going to call and give him my name, address, social security number, checking account number or anything else.

i too have been receiving calls from this " joseph " with ffg & assoc.  he's calling from a 206 area code which is in the seattle area. i've read several of the postings here and it seems that he is calling from several different phone numbers across the country. another thing i've noticed is that the common denominator is that some of us have used pay day loan places. the most common seems to be ace loans or ace cash....i don't use that company. when i got a call from this guy i called the company  i use right away to see if there was a problem with the checks that i've written them. there isn't and never has been.  i go in and pay off my loans in person. my checks are shredded infront of me. i filed bankruptcy in 2008 and have nothing in collections.  i'm willing to bet that this isn't even a collection agency. there are only a couple people that keep calling everyone and they're not only calling a specific area.     i refuse to give out any information. having dealt with several collection agencies in the past (i had REALLY bad credit for a while) i know that i'd also be receiving mail from them. if you verify any info for that "check" you're basically giving them permission to access your bank account. (i don't mean in legal terms but, figuritivley)   BE SMART!

I was called that they wanted to collect on a bad check, and if I didn't pay up they
would sue me.   I tried to call back and no one answered, on Sunday, no  answering
machine.  They called again with a different number and told them I needed more information
and original documentation, then they were going to sue me.

I got the same message from Joseph.  This is the second time in six months.  The recording sounds exactly the same as the first time they (he) called.  I called back the first time and I asked for Joseph and they said that he wasn't around at that moment but that person could help me.  They wanted to know if I was so-and-so, and asked if these were the last 4 of my SS#, and asked if this was my address....  All of it was wrong.  Of course they said they'd update it.  I'm just waiting for the next time "Joseph" calls again.  And I won't answer it, again.  Besides, I only write maybe 2 checks a month, and I haven't bounced one in 30 years.

I received a message from "Joseph" today asking me to call him back at 1-866-443-6985 and he was from FFG and Assoc.  I knew something didn't sound right because I have no problems with my checks or bank accounts.  The number on the caller ID was 913-586-4049...

I too get a call from "Joseph" this is the 3rd time just the month of August. Its not even my info. Apparently i have this person's old cell phone number. They keep telling me they took it out, yet the calls just keep on coming. Now they say they are going to find me. BRING IT.. since you dont even know MY name.. you morons!

This "joseph" character is a busy boy. I get daily calls from him on my answering machine saying he is from FFG and that I need to call to verify information on a check I wrote. Well,all my checks are clear and I only write a few, in favor of paying via internet. I'm sick and tired of this. I got a copy of my credit report and there is no reason for anyone to be calling me about a past due account or a check I wrote. How do I stop these irritating phone calls without changing my phone number to get rid of him.

This ffg called my work about a check processing. I don't write checks and I would like for these people to quit calling me at work.

Joseph is an old recording used for over 2 years now!!! This auto-dial message is sent through cell phones from all over the country, mostly disposable so they cant be traced. They then route any responses to a call center operating out of Las Vegas Nevada, ran by a man by the name of SALVATORE MAZZARA. Since they are not licensed to operate outside of Nevada, they use "sub contractors" armed with cell phones to do it for them. They buy debts for pennies on the dollar and often get wrong or old numbers to call for the purpose of "fishing for unpaid debt. They also use law firms like RoVo and Assoc. (Rory Vowinkle) to help scare people to pay up. FRONTIER FINANCIAL GROUP LLC was originally Frontier Financial Group Inc. They were a mortgage company that lost its charter/license. They then moved to Las Vegas from Buffalo,.hence the new name VEGALO LLC. d.b.a. Frontier Financial Group LLC. They were then found to be operating with out a license by the State of Nevada Dept. of Business and Industry, and were ordered to cease and desist. They quickly remedied that problem and got a license and changed the name again to NORTH AMERICAN ASSET SERVICES LLC d.b.a. Frontier Financial Group LLC. They have been trying to hide the location. It is 1291 Galleria Dr. Suite 170 HENDERSON, NEVADA 89014  (702) 586-4444 (702) 445-7777 (702) 473-5316.  DON'T FALL FOR IT !!! DO NOT CALL the 866 number !!! Joseph does not exist !!!

I've received three calls and the third call Joseph finally left a message, like you all of my checks have cleared the bank.  So why would a company be calling me and not even using my name when leaving the message, what if they had the wrong number.  That's a dead give away.  At least say whom you are calling for before leaving a message like that.
