Who owns this number ?

When I called the number back it was EDI and someone answered the phone and asked where I wanted to be directed. I have never called them so it must be a telemarketer

They call and refuse to leave a company name or information about their company  or what they are selling. When asked if they are calling from a call center, they lie and say "no it's just really busy here". Obviously a telemarketer.

I called them back and they answered "Business Development".  Obviously a telemarketer.

I also received a message from this number on 12/26/07.  I tried to return the call and the phone number was disconnected.  The return number was 866-472-8859 Ext 301 and the name was Diane Reed.

They called a business line twice on January 3rd 2008 and do not leave any message or voice mail about company name or information what they are selling.

Just got a call from "Wanda" who was very aggressive, called my place of employment looking for the owner, I politley said he wasn't here and was not interested (since she was obviously a telemarketer); she said they would bring more business here and  that he WOULD be interested... so I asked for her number and said my boss would call her back (yeah right). She said she was with "Business Development Institute". I called back and they answered "BDI".

She gave me 18664728859 ext. 300.

these guys are scam artisits they sell everything from SEO to real estate programs. they scammed me for $6,000.Stan

Very irritating and rude sales people who will NOT go away.

A variation of their pitch is, "we looked at your web site and you're not on page 1 for your industry".  The thing is, I have lots of sites, in a variety of industries, so that's a rather dubious claim by someone trying to sell me their services.  (Moreso, when I'm already on page 1 when Googling for "software development".)

Received a call but was on the line and couldn't pick up.  These are the same folks I have told Not Interested a hundred times.  I understand the frustration from everyone here.  

The last time they called, They were informing me that my URL ranking was low and I was losing potential customers.  When I provided updated information to let them provide a fair shot at quoting my business, they froze and hung up.

Someone else called back a few days later and I talked to them.  They offered web site optimization and SEO services.  I asked very simple basic questions that even the novice could understand with a simple google.  This was too complicated for them.

This is not a company that CDBS would do business with based upon their inability to leave a message or schedule an appointment(catching the busy professional off guard) and their inability to answer technical questions regarding their services (if this was a professional marketing firm they would have a technical representative available for a demo/walk through).  

Keep resources like this alive to create ongoing consumer awareness and stop the scammers.

Had a message from this number and "x-300" on my answering machine.  I am always suspicious of callers leaving a toll free number.  So I googled it and found this web site.  THANK YOU!!! to all of you who have posted here.  My suspicions were right.  BTW the caller sounded like a slick salesman.  He definitely had the "Professional Phone Voice" mentioned above.  If they call again I will have some fun with them!  Thanks again.

Got a voicemail from 'John Hammond' at 866-472-8859 x300.  I called back and was asked who I needed to speak with, was transferred to John.  He started in immediately on his pitch about how I'm not found in Google searches.  I explained to him that I'm not interested in his services, and that I'm on the National DNC list, his response was a very cocky 'how's that working out for ya?'  I responded with 'it's working out find until I get a call from people who aren't supposed to be calling.' His response: 'well, you're on the internet, so I don't know what to tell ya' then he hung up.  I called back immediately and left note with whoever answers their phone that I am on the DNC list and their next call will be reported and I will file a complaint.  We'll see where it goes from there.  

I will say, just from the smartass attitude of 'John' that I would never do business with such a joke of an organization, and I would suggest you all respond with a demand to be removed from their list.  Good luck.

Our photography studio just created a website. A gentleman called from 866-472-8859 and asked for the owner. I said "what is this regarding," hes not here today.  Hes like I need someone to answer important business decisions. I told him that I do all the internet related things that he was asking for. He hung up. He tried several times to speak to my boss and he kept hanging up when I said he wasn't available. About a week later he called and talked to me. This time he was really "nice." He was talking about SEO's to make your web site to the front page of major search engines. I said ok Im a little interested. He put me on the phone with the "director" He kept talking and talking. I said sir I have work to do, I love what I am hearing...but I would like a price?! He kept talking and talking. I told him that it fit our budget but that I would like to think it over, and look around. Cus thats what real business people do!  He started being extremely rude! "Oh well Im sorry your business isnt confident enough to make this decision." He repeated this several times. I told him,
"why would I want anything from you!?" Then he put me on the phone with another guy. The "Head Director" or something. This guy made me furious! He says "Hello" would you like to pay with visa, master-card, or american express! I said what are u talking about!? I just was disrespected by your worker!? Like an idiot I explained to him how the guy was rude and that he upset me!  Then the guy started saying that I was going to have to work for someone else and that my business was going to crash. and all this crap. Because I wasn't going to buy the product. I was like excuse me!  He muttered other things to me. I couldn't believe it!  I cant believe people would be apart of that sort of scam!!!!

I too have had several messages from john hanlan 866-472-8859 ext.300. When I called and said the extension I was asked for the name of the person I was trying to reach. Wish i had found this site first.
