This is legit for 411.ca. I entered my business information for "FREE" on 411.ca & it said they would call to verify my information. when they called & verified my information they tryed to up sell me to get my information to come up on page 1 (for $40 a month) of any serach looking for my company or me. I declined saying that I the reason I put the information on was that it was for free.

If you use an automated dialer to call me, I will hang up immediately. If you don't have the customer service to call me in person, don't call me.

Are you absolutely certain that the number above ("866 482 7474") is the number that called you representing 411.ca?

Because this number calls on behalf of 411 Directory Assistance.ca, which is an entirely different entity. 411.ca is operated by Yellow Pages Group.  

411 Directory Assistance.ca is not associated with Yellow Pages Group, although it certainly doesn't seem to care that it makes most of its sales based on a confusion between itself and Yellow Pages.

I'm not going to tell anybody whether they should or should not purchase services with this company, but everybody should be 100% clear on WHOSE services they are actually purchasing.

There are several directory services that receive much more traffic than 411directoryassistance.ca (canada411.ca, 411.ca just off the top of my head), so anybody considering purchasing services from 411da.ca should do a thorough cost comparison first.

We got a phone call this morning from Barbara from 411 Director Assistance.ca.  Told me that it was time to renew.  (although we've never advertised with them)  I told her this fact and she said that the first year is always complimentary and that there was a renewal fee of 845.00 for the year.  Told her I wasn't interested and hung up.  Then I dialed *69 to get the number and I proceeded to call Yellow Pages (who is where I do all of my advertising.  They informed me to contact the Local Police Department, so I did and I filed a complaint with the Fraud Department.

Just called my 1 person company about advertising on their site and time to collect outstanding premiums.   Always reminding and thanking me for payment made last year and this was to renew.   I asked for the name or copy of the previously paid cheque and they always get angry with my attitude.   As well a copy of the invoice & contract mailed to me, they never have the documentation as this service is a complete FRAUD!

This is an absolutely DISGUSTING SCAM at the highest possible level!   Lying, threats and attempts to force a verbal listing (yes they record for possible acceptance).

Don't answer these scumbag.  They never leave a message to avoid recorded messages should they be charged.

This is nothing but a scam you may use a computer to dial, but I have dealt with your nonsense before, I have your address, and phone numbers. Don’t even talk to these people, they want to record you, and then they change the recording to make it sound like you agreed to the fee and service. They tried this on me a couple of years ago saying I supplied my business listing and now it was time to pay, they called me this year to update their information I told them no, than 3 months later they called and told me it was time to pay, pay for what! Idiots, just hang up and don’t give them anything.

It is not a collection agency trust me, it’s the same people just claiming to be a collection agency, I am very good with voices, The lady on the other end told me I hadn’t paid my bill, I said what bill, I never got a bill, she said she would look into it, I received a bill within that week, they called back, I told them to bad come here and take me to court, I would love to have this seen in court never got another call.

I think its the fact that you company continues to call over and over again and does not take no for a answer .

When someone says they are not interested take them off the list of people to call.

I've accepted these calls as a normal irritatants when operating a business.  

Instead they can be stress relief of my day.  Rather then yell and scream (done many times prior), I could drag out the calls, leave them on hold or act stupid to string them along without ever giving any accurate information ie. located in the South Pole etc.

Given these people are twisted and immoral, we do not have to behave in the same manner or simply hang up.  Today's call was a slow response stretching the conversation until she was so pissed and hung up.  I can never scam companies or people, if they cannot respect the honesty of others by using trickery the same behaviour can be applied here.

They called today and were very rude. They are just spammers which you can't get rid off, Not even with the Do Not Call List listing.  AVOID

This company is the biggest joke ever..they call me all the time..and yet again today so i let them tell me about what i had agreed to and i was told that i had agreed to a trial run..NEVER HAPPENED..and then i had to pay to continue to move foward with further advertising...at least it wasnt the other scam where they say i have to pay for the previous year that i so called agreed to....so the lady on the phone tried her best to tell me about what i could have for future advertising etc etc..but i just would let her get off with telling me what i agreed to!! i know 100% what i agree to so i wouldnt let her get away with it and as you can guess she eventually hung up the phone to move onto the next sap in automatic dialing line....i just am tired of these calls so i called the sales number myself and in 5 minutes i had a manager calling me back to talk about what happened..they do record every phone call and had the original call where i supposedly agreed to the service but wait there was no approval by me and then they had the call that just happened..he stopped it just over half way through and expressly told me that the employee was to be reprimanded for the lies she was saying or in his words "this happens at a lot of companies where employees dont follow rules all the time, walmart has thousands of complaints, etc etc" VOMIT Now...the manager was unhappy that i was using the word scam and it was like i had stolen a little babies blanky and he was so insistent that the company is not a scam since they have been in business for 7 years..like that means a damn...companies scam for as long as they can before they are finally shut down..he told me that they are not a boiler room but its hard to believe when i have recieved so many calls with the same sale approach i mean lies..i mean scam..i hope he is readying this crying with his blinky blanky...i ended the conversation with telling them to remove me from the dialing list because if they call me again i will call the RCMP to put in a report..and he pretty much ended no word of a lie with telling me to go back to playing dungeons and witchcraft or some other stupid computer game because someone is attacking my village...HARD TO BELIEVE BUT TRUE...i do have to say that this guy was calm and cool and is obviously used to people ripping into his company...i actually found comedy in talking to him..your company is a joke and so are you!!

We have a new voip line for less than a week, no one has ever had the number ever and it is not listed. These people call, which means they are just dialing numbers in sequence without any sort of database, they just dial the next number.

you may be a customer rep with 411.ca but you are still a scam artist...be upfront as to why you are calling, asking the POTENTIAL customer if they would like to be listed for a FEE...instead of whispering it at the end of the call....you guys are all the same....SCAM ARTISTS and nothing but..get a real job

This number called my business line.  I do service calls for local residential customers so, when I see an 866 number, I just say "Hello" (no business name nor my own name).  Woman on the other end just said it was a wrong number.  I'm wondering if I had identified it as a business that they were calling if my response would have been the same.

Just got a call from this number, when I answered and said the business name the caller hung up. STOP WASTING MY TIME - I HAVE ACTUAL WORK TO DO.

legit my ass, next time this phone number appears on my caller ID, I will read you every swear words in my swearing dictionary!

Are you kidding me?  I don't answer these calls period.
along with the hundreds of 800, 866 Quebec, Ontario, US Numbers and States
and on and on and on I just wish there was a way to STOP
them..........

No answer very frustrating. I usually ask them to remove
my number from their system. Then log the number to see
if they comply.If not will be reported (hope it will do some good )  lol

Get these calls weekly.

This company is so dirty...I read stories of fraud and police investigations about their misleading practices.  This is NOT a directory assistance!   They have no affiliation to 411, Yellow Pages, Google etc. etc. etc.   They lie about paying previously, renewals or service orders.  Not a real business except to part with your money.
