This number has called several times recently. Each time, they ask to speak with my business partner by name. When I say that he's not in, the caller "Derrick" says that he will call back later or just email. Today, "Derrick" asked to speak to the business partner. When I said he was unavailable, "Derrick" said that he was just on the phone with my partner and got disconnected. I assured him that wasn't possible and that I could take a message. He argued with me repeatedly that he was just talking to him and got disconnected and that my partner was going to be upset for not reconnecting him. Funny thing is, my business partner and I were in a meeting with each other for the past 2 hours....I know for a fact that he wasn't just on the phone with him. Stay away from these people....scam artists!

This number just keeps calling and it is just silence on the other end...no one says anything when I say our business name, no one speaks...kind of errie. Could be if there is an auto message that it's not kicking in.  If I just stay on the line the call is disconnected.  I get this happening at least once a day on our business phone line.

Well, after 10 calls in the last 2.5 weeks, I finally lost it on one of their people and cursed them out. Now, they still call, but when I answer, they quickly hang up.

Total shysters, and although they claim they are a legitimate company, their tactics are deceptive, fraudulent and most likely illegal.

Oh, btw, once they called and "claimed" they were representing both 411.ca AND Kijiji.

Oh, and for those who have businesses, there is no such thing as a "Do Not Call" list you can register for. That is ONLY for private home or cellular phone lines. "Business to Business" calls are not covered under Canadian "Do Not Call Registry" and telemarketing to businesses is allowed. Telemarketers are NOT required to remove a business from their phone list either.

Just had them call again today.  On the second call we answered it and realized it was telemarketers due to the long pause, and tons of background noise.  As a general rule, we let toll-free numbers ring at least five times or we let them go to voicemail.  Legitimate companies we have dealings with leave a message, these people don't.  We also screen our calls for "private callers" as 9 out of 10 of them are telemarketers as well.

Keep your eyes out for the fake yellow pages renewal fax. It has "Yellow Page Canada" at the top and the finger logo walking backwards.  We laugh when we see ours, it is sooo out of date.  Don't get me started on junk faxes....

Our company also received an invoice for an "unauthorized" transaction by Sterling Business Solutions.  We will not be paying the invoice and I found it quite interesting that they had a recording of the original call which they played back to me over the phone.  There was no indication of a formal agreement being made to advertise with this directory service.  According to our company policy, all purchases must have a Purchase Order number for any transactions being made.

I reported these scam artists to the opp fraud dept.  at 1888-495-8501.

They call businesses, pretending to give you free advertising,and then send you a bill for hundreds of dollars.  Do not pay them, and report them.

This is a company form montreal trying to  cheat businesses.

why did I receive the no. of 8664827474 couple of times within 3 consecutive days? one time for a day, what is the number stand for(from which part of company or person)? every time I picked up the phone there's click sound however never a person answered me. it is so strange and suspicious phone number, very much not-wanted call number.

Got a call from Cynthia from 411 Directory Assistance.ca advising it was time to renew. I got it mixed up with 411.ca. After verifying the company information, the agent asked for my credit card number to update the listing for an annual fee of $500. I was shocked as the enquiry was about updating the listing and realized it was a probably a scam call. I proceeded to inform the company has never paid for updating a listing before and not interested. The agent immediately became hostile asking "why did you  waste my time?" Not only a scam but hostile and rude scammers at that. Where do I file a complaint in BC?

I use to work in this company and I left after the first day seeing how they were such a scam. The owners pay their sales people to try and pretend like you ordered this before and get you to agree on their recording. They never pay a single dollar of marketing their own website for people to know about it. they made the name 411da.ca and NOT 411.CA so people could get confused and think its the 411 yellow pages

You wouldn't be able to put a complaint in the better business bureau cause they paid them off so they can pretend they are bbb approved.

I guess that I got sucked in on this. Sadly these guys have a website that works except it when you google 411, it doesn't show up. You have to type in 411directoryassistance which nobody would do. why they would not spend a $1000 bucks and simply optimize this for a search engine and then they are a legimate business.

this number keeps calling me and only beeps. and if i hang up thay use my answering machine to the end .and or thay call me 2 to 3 times a day ..avry annoying.how can i get them to stop?.

The point is the company is a scam, I had dealings with you a few years ago, trying to get money from my company for nothing, all a scam, but some people must be stupid enough to send you a cheque. DON’T TALK TO THESE PEOPLE, AND DO NOT SEND MONEY ALL IS A BIG SCAM

I'm the same Xander from Aug2012 though I didn't recognize this number.

Lady identified herself as "411 directory assistance" and, like a lot of people, I thought she meant 411.ca.  Once she started trying to "confirm account information", I asked her what had happened to my account rep (I *do* advertise with 411.ca).  To her credit, she repeated the company name and I confirmed that it was not the same company as 411.ca.  She agreed.
I told her I did not have any budget for more advertising (and I have never heard of their site much less someone using it).

it is a scam 411 called me and asked If i wanted a free listing I said yes then when the listing expired they called me and asked If I wanted to continue it would cost me 340.00 I said NO and they keep trying to get money from me NICE TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I will never pay it because I did not approve it period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got sucked into this. High pressure sales people. Caught me on a busy day, and did not pay attention to who was calling me. I thought it was Canada411.ca. They called me asking to "update" the information and asked if I had authority to update this information, I said yes... what can updating information hurt? Then they transferred me to another sales rep where I guess they asked me if I had authority to make purchases... I agreed, but don't remember doing so. A week later an invoice of 600 bucks comes my way. I send an email to customer service to cancel this service as we no longer want it... well apparently you can't!! Even though there is no signature or anything like that, they say they will send you to collections! I tried calling them back to apologize and let them know I did not have authority to make this purchase, and when I called customer service, it rang rang rang and then someone picked up and hung up. Then tried the billing department... everyone was busy, and there was a voicemail system.

Don't get sucked into this scam!! New employee at a company, and so nervous I will get in trouble as they have the call recorded. Scared I said something I shouldn't have!! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!

411da.ca and 411directoryassistance.ca is a phishing scam that disguises itself as 411.ca. My boss lost a lot of money from their scam, and their phone number, address, and web address are all part of a fake company used to impersonate 411.ca and commit a credit card scam.

got a call from 1-866-482-7474 - they wanted to sell us online advertisement for $575 - I said no thank you, he (Steven) did not want to give me his number to call back in case we would change our mind ... he said he would call back next Monday, I said whow where are you calling from, he said Montreal, well should he not know that next Monday is a National Holiday ??? FISHYYY ....

This number called our business line and hung up. Seemed like an auto dialer - kind of thing to do, but checked it out on here to be safe. Glad there is this site for feedback! :)
