Got regular letter from "Motor Vehicle Department" also. They know my name and year and model of my car. I would love to punish them for the spam as well as to understand where they got my personal data. Does anyone know the way to do this?

I already received this letter from Motor Vehicle Services addressed to my husband requesting for immediate action and that it's the final coverage notice. Its phone number is 866-621-2265. When I googled this phone, it led me to this forum. Thank you and now this notice will be in the trash bin.

I received a similar letter from the "Motor Vehicle Division" stating that the warranty on my new truck was about to expire, despite the fact that 6 years and 75000 miles remain on the warranty, not including the extended in-vehicle computer warranty I purchased through the manufacturer's finance company. When I called the number on the letter, the call was answered by a polite gentleman who claimed to work for a company called "First Financial Protection". When I asked about why I had received such an obvious scam letter, he informed me that he only answered the phones at the call center, and had no knowledge of the contents of the letter or the company that had contracted him. He claimed that the extent of his involvement was to sign up people who wanted to use the service, but he didn't know what exactly they were signing up for.
I'm sure he was likely not telling the entire truth, but at least he was kind enough to take me off the "list" of people that the company would contact.
Long story short, this "Motor Vehicle Division" company is a scam, and consumers would be wise to ignore any mailings from them.

This is the third company trying to get me to warranty my car. This began soon after i moved my registration to Ohio. I am also suspicious of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles... do they provide registration information to a publically accessible database?

Its a scammer, and fraudulent..  DMV's do not send you letters for warranty's for your vehicles.
You may need to file a police report along with filing a fraud form with your card holder. Do not delay..

Things being sent via the us mail like this generally fall under the post masters domain aka mail fraud.
    US Postal Service Inspectors:  https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx
Or take them to your local Postmaster.

I find it funny that I got a notice dated the same day that I wrecked my car thanks to black ice.  Even my insurance adjustor came out, just glanced at the car and said "Yeah, it's totaled - you'll pay more to fix it than just getting a new car."

I'm just taking this letter to a shredder and forgetting it ever existed because somehow, I doubt I need to worry about an engine warranty for a car that's now sitting in a scrap yard, waiting to be smashed down into a cube.

This is the first car i have ever financed. So it had 1000 miles left on the warranty. Told me i was in the gap. He got down payment 125 and monthly to 95. We understood this to be from chevy dealer. Well got a car today. It was all a scam. Yes the aasshole was very pushy. But he has not seen the real "b" I can be. Please don't fall for it.

Why don't you people check this stuff out before getting out your credit/debit card or check book and handing it over? Getting your money back after they have taken it is damn near impossible. These people are lower than common criminals.

Google search for things like this being a scam prior to forking over your hard-earned money.

Bottom line - Question EVERYTHING EVERY TIME!!

Same story here, but I am suspicious of all offers that are going to help me. The only people who are usually helped are those offering a deal to get into your wallet. After buying a used truck and the Ford dealer offering me a protection plan for $2000 that I declined, I have received at least five similar offers in the mail. Three offers that I still have are from Motor Vehicle Division, Service Protection Direct and Auto Repair network. Two others have been discarded. All of these and even the one from the Ford dealer were rip-off and a waste of your money. The only people helped are the one's receiving your hard earned cash. In the long run, you come out way ahead if you simply pay for your own auto repair. When I hear some credible stories about how a vehicle owner had a major repair covered by one of these policies,  I will rethink the scam, but I don't believe that story exists.

The scam letter I received gave the following phone number to call 877-302-2184.  "Motor Vehicle Division" is the fake name on the green document.  In tiny letters tucked away at the bottom is the sentence, "This is an advertisement to obtain coverage."  This is probably to protect themselves when they are called out for misrepresenting themselves as a government entity, which, of course, is precisely what they're doing, since every other part of the letter is designed to mislead people and get their money by deception.  They are really scum.  And in spite of their "No other notices will be sent," you will continue to get this kind of notice.  Be careful, people.  It isn't only on the internet that crooks operate.

I received a notice that like all of the above persons stated looked very official. I knew it was a scam, but called them anyway, just to give them a piece of their own medicine. I told them I knew they were a scam company and that they would be reported, but this was only after I let them think I was going to purchase a plan.

The abrasive letters I am been receiving indicate that I am REQUIRED to respond; no polite request from these scammers.  If you read the small print near the end of the letter, it indicates that the letter/notice is from a company called "VEHICLE SOLUTIONS" and that the letter is an advertisement.  IT IS STILL A SCAM!!!!!  DON"T BITE!
