On February 2nd, 2021 a voicemail was left on my old phone number for my Dad. This is the translation from the voice message. I removed personal information.
This message is for Norman... my name is Amelia I'm calling on behalf of the process service office in xxxx County we process certified court documents we were ________ to deliver legal documents for Norman to appear in court and for some reason they were returned from the address that we have on file __ to avoid any further legal complications Norman needs to contact the attorney's office in charge of his complaint _____ telephone number is 866-509-0049 case number is xxx-xxxx please get in touch please forward this message __ ___ ______ ____ and let him know that he needs to get in touch with attorneys office to make arrangements __ they can re-deliver the documents if he doesn't he will get a failure to appear in court again the phone number is 866-509-0049 case number xxx-xxxx thank you…”

Now the reality. My Dad has never lived where I am now (and the location this message refers to) and he was murdered October 29, 2011. I still get random mail delivered here for him which is difficult enough.

My heart is racing and it will take a bit for me to climb down the emotional cliff I am on.

Whomever is running this scam most definitely should reconsider their evil ways. What you give, you get.

Be careful because they somehow used my credit cards and tried to hack my checking acct. This all happened today! The call was on Feb 1st. Do you live in San Diego? That is where they said they were calling from San Diego process service.

I want to know if this place is legit. I was told to contact this number with the case number provided. They claim I had a checking account with wells fargo in 2004 and a check was written fraudulently because it was never paid. So I need to pay $550 before being served or $4200 if it goes to court!!

No. Not legitimate. Furthermore, statue of limitations has been far exceeded even if you had written a check that went uncashed.
