Automated survey about Canadian politics

got the same survey, called twice today and left an automated message.

Automated call purporting to be a survey about politics. I hung up. If this is a survey the company should identify itself in the call display (instead of "unknown caller").

I received a call from this number.. left a message on my machine said if i am over 18 press 1 if not press 2.... then it hung up....... Right like i'm even going to answer.. I never answer  866 or 877 numbers... Scammers!!

Got a call from this number couple times a day, I am so pissed off!  How can our governement let a machine calling me few times a day and get away with it!

Hung up on this call today.  Of course, called during dinner hour.  I agree with Kathy.  They should identify themselves.

Junk automated "survey" about Canadian Politics.  Shows up as "toll-free-serv" instead of legitimate organization.

They called.
I ignored it.
They left no voice mail.
I called them back, got a recorded survey message from something called "Bannatyne Resarch" (could find NO info about them on Google, so must presume they are a slimy, non-legitmate firm of possible scamsters trying to get political opinions whilst avoiding the decent behaviour of properly identifying who they are, where they are how ELSE they can be reached, how their questionnaires can be oped out of, and of course who is sponsoring their "surveys". Companies that behav this way (JUST inside the letter of our las but far outside the spirit of them) should be shut down and their proprietors/owners should be imprisoned.

I'm with you Mel - I never answer 866 or 877 numbers  either - I just let it ring twice , pick up and hangup......no time for them to leave a message.

I have about had it with them calling. They called me every night this week so far...at dinner time of course. I wish there was some way of getting them to stop!

If the Government wants to do a survey it should use numbers that can be recognized on our caller I D as a Government number.

Political parties using these  1 800 or 866 should know that we won't vote for persons who harass us several times a day and also after 8 30 P M when you have gone to bed!

I don't know who this company is but I am getting three or fours calls a day.

When you are on the do not call list it is beyond annoying

I was also expecting a phone call from England and rushed and pick up the phone thinking it was
my important" call"  only to have this person ask if I had a credit card!

I hung up and did not give them a chance to talk any further!

Telemarketers calling from Canadian registered charities, newspapers, political parties, riding associations and candidates for elections are exempt from the do not call list.  The best thing to do is to pick up and specifically tell them to put you on their do not call list.  I always make a note on my calendar as it takes them 31 days to update their lists.  If they call after that time frame I ask for a supervisor and let rip.  Good luck!

well its not like some of the leaders like the ndp or grits that make long distant calls all the time they must think money grows on trees but then again to them it does lol

Quit calling my number - [removed]...your calls are extremely annoying!  Please stop or I will consider your calls harassing and press charges.

I did not answer, but DO appreciate the information guys.  I will be blocking this call, as on my phone it showed up as "Unknown Name".

got a call from this #.... decided on a lark to take the survey.  Funny they didn't even give all the options of who was officially running in my riding.  How do you do an accurate survey when you disregard candidates....and when it came to leaders and I chose someone other than Layton....they specifically asked if there was in any way I would support him.... typical slanted research... how I wish my National No-Call List including harrassment from political parties....nine calls in under 24 hours.

We too have been getting numerous calls from this number.  How about this thought? Answer it and take their survey but give nonsense answers. Support the Greens even if you vote Conservative. Throw the polling system into disarray and make them meaningless.

We get these calls in Winnipeg also, and the number comes up as "Bannatyne" on my caller ID (204-480-6925). I've tried everything to get a person on the line so I can ask them to stop calling--I get a call from them every single day. I hate these automated systems, like I have nothing better to do than run to the phone a hundred times a day to listen to a recorded message...

Yeah, like Conservatives never would do that eh??  Robocalls, slashing tires of Liberal supporters.  Pfft.  Save your political posturing for blogs, not threads dealing with unwanted calls.
