- MikeI got a phone call from Christina Lee from the State of Illinois with the news that I won a Lincoln Navigator. This is a scam!
- Caller: ?
- Ms. DietReceived call and said I won Lincoln Navigator - but wasn't available at 866-551-4946 where I was to return call. "Bill Russell."
- Ms. Diet| 1 replyMr. Bill Russell called me back and had this backass in-authentic southern wierd accent. He said they are promoting the opening of a company called United Travel Network and that I need to go to a meeting at 1935 Shermer Rd., Suite 100 in Northbrook, IL 60062 at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007. At that time I would scratch off a ticket and see if I won 1) 2007 Lincoln Navigator or $50,000; 2) 4 Days and 3 nights Bahama vacation; 3) $2,500 in Cash or 4) 32 inch Flat Screen tv. He said I had to make over $40,000 per household and that my husband HAD to come to the meeting too.
At that point I said no (but if anyone wants to claim my prize, it's ITCHOW! Whatever that means.- Caller: United Travel Network
- BobReceived a voice message from Christina Lee with the State of CA informing me that I had won a Lincoln Navigator. My winning ticket had been selected on line and I needed to call my prize coordinator immediately because this was a very time sensitive matter. Message told me to call 866-551-4946. This number gets you to a voice message that informs the caller that Bill is not at his desk, but it is a very time sensitive matter, so leave your direct contact information and Bill will get back to you in 5 minutes. From the above posts, looks like this is a serious scam.
- Nancy| 5 repliesI actually recieved a call from bill russell and i did go to the presentation i was guranteed one of 4 major prizes. Stayed there for 90 minutes and i did win a 32 in. flatscreen screen t.v. so it is legit!! for anyone that thinks its a scam. If you dont want the phone call from bill russell dont fill out the entry form and you never would have got a call in the first place.

- Bean replies to NancyNancy. What was the 90 minute presentation about?
- booklover1 replies to MOM| 6 repliesThe newest scam: 'United Travel Network' of Northbrook Illinois is now sending out a phoney free "Boarding Pass" - looks like a fake boarding pass - with a note that is on fake Sprit/US Airways business paper, that says "Congratulations ___________. Our Accounting Deparment shows that you have been awarded TWO ROUND TRIP AIRLINE TICKETS TO ANY MAJOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ANYWHERE IN THE CONTINENTAL USA. To claim this special gift, call 1-866-930-3999...." This is a total scam. Do not fall for this and call.
- Karen replies to Nancy| 2 repliesI got the same call from Bll Russell. I asked if this was a timeshare, and he assured me it was not. They guaranteed that I would win one of 4 prizes... a Lincoln Navigator or $45,000 cash), or $2500 cash to spend as I please, or a 32" flat screen tv, OR a trip (9 trips are offeredP). I sat through the whole presentation, and it was interesting. Dan GOld is the owner of United Travel Netowork, and they are tied to Global Discovery Vacations. Basically, they can get their members a resort almost anyplace in the world for $96 per week. There is an upfront fee which they will finance for you using simple interest. Once the fee is paid off, you are a member for life and the membership can be handed down to your kids, their kids, etc. It's really a good deal for anyone who likes to travel and does so often. You should check it out. Just for sitting through the presentation, you win one of the four gifts I mentioned above.
- Karen replies to booklover1| 1 replyThis is NOT a scam. Just for sitting through their 90 minute presentation that explains a very cost saving travel club. A week at a condo resort property for only $96, anywhere in the world. For those places that don't have resorts, Global Network Solutions can get 50 - 70 percent off of 4 and 5 star hotels.
You should check it out. - Wayne replies to booklover1They tried to scam me too, but with a different phone number. 866-930-3999. The mail/boarding pass came from a Daytona Beach zip. Couldn't find a free 'reverse phone number' web site. Thanks for the info! I think I'll send this to US Airlines with a note.
Wayne - Just want to knowI am scheduled to listen to this presentation this week, and I am going to cancel it. Just have a few questions to these people that say it is legit.
If so why are they on the Better Business Bureau website saying that they have claims against them? Also it is false advertisement when you do not receive the free two round trip tickets, which they can be sewed for.- Caller: United Travel Network of Northbrook, IL.
- aresort / prizes:Lincoln,TV;Trip;cash; calling in on 866-551-4946
- Call type: Telemarketer
- mb replies to Karen| 1 replywait until you try to book the trip. It's bull. There is nothing left in the inventory on the dates you want them. I also read that someone was supposed to have a certificate for his resort mailed and it never was. He is suing United travel. The airline tickets are bull. You have to pay $65 each processing fee and you have to write down 3 choices of dates, 45 days apart from each other. The other kicker is, the contract says that they have a right to change your date, location and airport. It is BS. I think we should have a class action law suit.
- TN replies to Karenyou need to check out the website below and you'll change your mind.

http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/325/RipOff0325995.htm - joyI received a call from a Bob Ellis this afternoon. The call showed up coming in from New York. He said he was with "Diamond Prize Center" and that I had won one of four prizes from a sweepstakes that I had entered. I could not remember filling this out (but I've entered several so I wasn't sure if it was for real or not). I asked him how do I know that you aren't scamming me? Of course he came back with answers that sounded reasonable but I said that you could still be scamming me. Anyway, humoring him, and I guess myself, I went along, he told me about the 60 minute presentation at United Travel Network. With nothing to buy, I would be guaranteed to win either: 1) a Lincoln Navigator or and equal amount of cash,2)$2500,3)a Bahama dream vacation for 2 plus $1000, or lastly,4) a 32 inch flat screen TV. It is very disturbing though that you must bring your spouse, make at least $40,000 income and also provide two forms of ID, one photo and the other being a credit card that is never swiped and never leaves your hand. What's that all about? The e-mail confirmation sent to me about an hour later with directions to the Northbrook, Illinois facility was filled with typos when I went to the web site and saw that there were numerous sites across the country. There is no way in hell that all those valuable prizes can being away for nothing! Bob Ellis, if that is his real name, or is it Bill Russell, or is it ? gave me another number to phone him back on Friday after our Wednesday 8pm presentation: 845-883-0343. So sorry to disappoint him
