This complaint is paramount to accusing a monopoly of printing counterfeit money. A 7year old could figure out that it was never intended to be an actual boarding pass, but was just advertising. PEOPLE OF THIS INTELLECT OR LACK OF, USE THE WORD SCAM, WHEN SOMETHING IS BEYOND THEIR COMPREHENSION!!!  I took this trip and my family loved it!  Your speculations are unfounded!

They aren't stealing your identity, they are verifying information- they have to be sure that you are the same person that filled this out.  It's no mystery - just marketing- another form of advertising or where they choose to put their advertising dollars.  A give-away, you listen to how wonderful they are and you walk away with those advertising $$$$.  I did this, not a bad deal and I'd do it again, if they let me!  Your speculation cost you - if you don't respond, they give it to an alternate!!! It sucks to be you!

they used the whole won a lincoln navigator thing with me too, they said that the prizes were for celebrating the opening of their new company called, global vacations. Theyve been running for a while though, so its not a celebration gift, be careful with them, do NOT give any information out such as social security numbers, checking or savings account numbers, credit card, nothing, give to them what you would give to a known convict, because your information and identity are very important and can cause you many problems if given to the wrong people

They called me saying I had entered a sweepstakes with an old e-mail that I never use.  They say if I show up and listen to their presentation I will win a new car, $2500, a cruise or a 32 inch flat screen TV by doing a scratch off.  The whole thing smells fishy to me.  What do you think?

Same offer in Indianapolis.  Bill Russell, Lincoln navigator, etc.  I guess I'm not going (especially since Indy is a 3 hour drive).

Got the exact same message. I'm convinced it's all a big scam. I told that my wife won't be able to come along then the guy said that we need to come as a couple. Finally he said - bring along a cousin/friend/colleague to pretend as wife!! That itself convinced me they're frauds.

Well I never...  we just got the call too, at about 8pm tonight.  Yey!!!  we too are guaranteed to win 'The Navigator', 'The Flatscreen', 'The Cash', 'The 3 Day Trip' and they got my husband to agree to the meeting this Saturday in Northbrook.  I immediately knew this was a scam, just getting us to go along and be bored to death by a hard sell presentation. I looked them up on the internet, and seeing all the negative info, called the number thay gave us - 1 800 670 4241 - asked the lady who answered again where they got our info from, and it was a very sketchy "competition we might have entered in the past 12 months".  I asked if we would be sold anything, or be asked to part with cash at this presentation, an the answer was 'no, definately not' and 'the only money we would be asked to pay is the tax on the prize/gift.  As tempting as this is, because we all want something for nothing, we wont go.

WOW! My winning ticket number is ITCHOW too!

This is all about getting people to come to a timeshare presentation - if you show up, first you have to sit through the presentation, before you find out what you win.

It's not exactly a scam, but if it was truly a sweepstakes, then you would just win. Does anyone know of any other legitimate sweepstakes that puts any kind of conditions on what you have do AFTER you have entered? (Sure, sometimes you have to enter with a coupon, a UPC code, or you have to submit something, or you get a "game piece" that reveals if you won, but no other legitimate sweepstakes then says: now we want you to sit through this presentation, THEN you will get your prize, right?)

If you want to go on a vacation (want to bet that you probably will win the 4 days 3 nights Bahama vacation - oh, maybe to one of their timeshares??? - as your prize? I think that would be a sure bet!), go ahead and go "claim" your prize. Don't be surprised if you have to pay some kind of fees, in order to claim or actually use that prize. And don't be surprised if you are asked when on your Bahama vacation to take a tour, or hear another presentation.

Called and told that I had won one of four prizes (Navigator, $2500 in cash, Trip for 2 or a flat screen.  I told them that my husband and I are both unavailable because someone needs to stay home with our small children.  He offered to change all of the paperwork to state that I was single and not to mention my husband or I would be disqualified.  This fudging made me suspicious.  If I needed to contact them, they gave me the number 888-923-1327.  I looked up the company - United Travel and I know enough about them not to show.  Caller ID showed different phone number (not local) 219-923-1784 and yet the caller acted like he was local when giving directions etc.

We received this phone call as well.  My wife and I did go the 90 min. presentation.  In short after trying to sell us $14,900 in membership to their vacation club, shoving us in a room with 30 other couples accompanied by loud music to mask other "agents" conversations with everyone else, dropping the price to $11,900, then $6900 and finally $2900 to be paid over 4 yrs. I almost bought in.  It wasn't until I wouldn't let them leave my site with my credit card, refused to write a social security number on a credit form, the somehow showed up for a "vacation" club, that the man going by the name 'Daniel Gold or Golden (can't remember)started to get a really agitated that I wouldn't apply for credit for a club that he was doing everything in his power to get me to join.  They then at my request ripped up all the forms we had begun to fill out, however I ended up taking all of the torn up forms home with me, to protect myself from further danger of identity fraud (hopefully not too late).  I breathed a sigh of relief at home when I pieced the forms back together and realized they were trying to get me to sign a sort of finance form that I would incur 19.8% APR on the price that they sold me the vacation club membership for.  I also read in the fine print that many destinations I would have picked to travel were destinations members were asked not to try and book vacations to.  How do you live with yourselves??  How do you look you own children in the face everyday when you go home?  I feel terrible for the poor lady that was a bus driver with 4 kids who took the bait early enough in the session that she probably paid $11,900 and financed it with 19.8%

I received three calls one from a 518-834-1081 and 773-637-5263/622-8627. I was told to talk to Mr. Russell.  I called 866-209-8375 number got a voice mail of Mr. Russell to leave a number and he would call back.  And he did.  I was told that I have won 1 of 4 prizes (2008 Lincoln navigator, trip for 2, $2,500, or 32" flatscreen tv).  Now the catch, I looked all this up on line I can't find the same addresses for this place, when I do find an address there is a different phone number to another business.  I receive a call from Illinois number above and told to go to Indianapolis.  This is a crock of Sugar Honey Ice Tea (take the first letters off each of these words and you'll get my drift).  I'm not going.

I have the same appointment tomorrow in Northbrook..They told me the exact same thing re: the prizes.  I told them this better not be a travel club because I just got out of the hospital and really should not make this drive..they swore I won something but I had a similar club located in my office building in Oak Brook and it was the travel club scam.  Did you go?  I am inclined not to..it seems too fishy?

So let me ask you.  Do you get the prize only if you subscribe to the vacation club or do you get the prize regardless just for listening to the 2 presentations?  I am in sales so I understand how this works, but..I just had surgery and do not want to drive over an hour if there is only one way to get the prize...

I got the same call here in Wisconsin to come to Northbrook, IL and claim one of 4 prizes, the Lincoln Navigator/$45,000 cash, $2500 cash, 32" flat screen TV or one of 3 trips to vegas, cancun or some other location. I was suppose to go to their seminar on Nov 8th but didn't make it and sure enough they called and said that it was a "state regulated" promotion and that I am "guaranteed" one of the 4 prizes. She also said that I was not obligated to purchase anything to win the prize. It sounded flimsy so I did a web search for United Travel Network, which led me here. I am still skeptical about it, has anyone attended this seminar that can give me the lowdown on this thing?

I got the exact same call on my cell phone while at work. I looked up the company on the internet and found this site. I also saw 2 other mentions of them as a scam on a site called "Rip Off". I also saw the company listed by reputable companies and the address was legit. I was still thinking about going. I was told that I would not have to pay a dime, not even tax. They just want to make sure I do pay the tax before the next IRS deadline (APR 09). I was very tempted. The kids and I were supposed to go shopping for Christmas decorations that day. I was going to cancel the trip, but thankfully this site has opened my eyes and I will be doing my Christmas shopping with my kids afterall. Thank you. It also seems they have changed their number recently. My Caller ID is different than the past posts here, but the call is the same. My original call was from 773-385-6003, then I had to call Mr. Russell. He called back from 773-637-5038, then his assistant called back on 773-637-4472.
