The company who owns this phone number, keeps calling several times a day and there is never an answer on the other end. Very frustrating. It happens at all times of the day.

I am an employee with a non-profit called Scholarship America, and can hopefully shed some light on this caller.

This number is associated with a company called Dream Scholars
Foundation.  Dream Scholars Foundation has no association or affiliation
with Scholarship America.  Dream Scholars Foundation was previously
known as Scholarship Fund America. After Scholarship America filed a
Complaint for trademark infringement, the company changed its name to
avoid further consumer confusion, mistake or deception arising from the
nearly identical company names.

Dream Scholars Foundation continues to operate a telemarketing program
in which a 'free gift' of college test prep software is provided with
users apparently being charged monthly on their credit cards for
'donations'. We understand from the high number of complaints we have
received, that Dream Scholars Foundation makes it difficult to cancel
the billing.   If you did not authorize the charges made to your credit
card, you should contact your credit card company to dispute the charges
as well as contact your state's attorney general's office.

the calls are starting again, call ID says Toll Free, but no message is ever left.

Called FIVE TIMES today, trying to sell ACT prep to my kid.  Laughed at me the fifth time when I simply asked why he won't take no for an answer and stop calling.

This number has shown up on our caller ID twice.  Each time I brace for a telemarketing call but no one ever speaks to me.  I've waited over a minute saying hello repeatedly but no one ever picks up.  I'm positive it's some sort of marketing call.  I do have teenagers so maybe it has something to do with SAT prep. To the people who run this website - thank you for providing a forum where people can compare experiences!  You are great!

I encourage all of you who are receiving calls from 866-569-1215 to file a complaint with www.fcc.gov That is what I just did. The FCC is very good about following up on calls received that are unsolicited and there is no prompt to opt out of receiving the calls.

why is everyone afraid to say the real names of the "victims" here?  This is a pretty anonymous site, there is no way to track your number, no way to look up your address.  My name is Cory, my dog's name is Jeb...Oh!  I've done it now!  Haha!

Calls and asks to speak to the parents of some student in the house about test preps, when asked who is this the line hangs up.

Same thing happended to us.  A male called and asked if this was the mother or father of (our daughter's name) when I said yes.  He hung up.

Asled to speak to parents of ......  Caller knew my daughter's name and address.  Asked if she had access to a computer and CD-ROM.  Said she had requested SAT prep materials when she took PSAT or at a college fair.  30 day full refund etc. on materials.   When I told him I wouldn't give my credit card number over the phone, he hung up.  When I called back, said line is disconnected.  Be Careful!!

I am uncertain how this person got our number no one live here by the name they ash for i tolfd them that they hung up. I hope thay don't call back i tried to call the number back that just called my but it has a recording that this number is disconected,

Yeah, They've been calling for a while, But this is the first time that they asked for my parents... It was pretty weird.. Freaked me out a little..

Probably scammers or something.

Matt - next time you post against DSF please inform your readers to file complaints with the FCC and FBI directly. This will, in turn, trigger an immediate investigation by the proper authorities. I smell a RAT with Dream Scholars Foundation (DSF). I suspect fraudulent activity with this so called charity. They donate their proceeeds to non profits sometime in 2009 and 2010. Who are these chairities? I suspect they'll be in Mexico w/ the money by 2010. Called and asked to speak to the mother or father of....(daughters name)claiming she asked for SAT prep, (which she did not) when I responed by saying "she already took the SAT's" there was silence for about 10-15 seconds then they hung up.  scammers of some kind.

I got a call from someone wanting to know if my teenage daughter was taking the SATs. When I asked him who he was he said he was from dream scholars foundation and wanted to sell her some DVD's to help her with her scores. He kept interrupting me whenI asked him how he got our number and her name and whenI inssited he tell me he told me to "oh go take a walk " and hung up on me. They had tried to contact us numerous times when we were not ome to answer. He was VERY RUDE!

It's a scam. Ask the caller these questions.
1.) Why is the phone number that shows up in the called ID not a valid phone number?
2.) Why is the phone number that show up in the called ID different from the number listed on the website?
3.) Why do you keep calling even though you NEVER sent the so called package that requires a MANDATORY phone call?
4.) Why aren't you listed with the Better Business (a BBB for Dream Scholars Foundation or www.dreamscholarsfoundation.org return no results)?
5.) What percentage of the 'contributions' actually go to a charity? (Trick question, this isn't a real charity.)
6.) Why are you concealing your website registration information?
7.) Why are you not listed as a charitable organization with the IRS?
8.) Why does a Google search of 'Dream Scholars Foundation'...

The answer to all of these questions is that the caller is, in fact, a lying scumbag sack of bull snot! These [***] don't contribute to anything. There is a real charity called Dreams Scholarship Foundation which is not affiliated with these criminals in any way.

I found the perfect solution to the problem, it's called Selective Call Forwarding (thank you AT&T). I added their number to Selective Call Forwarding. Here is the best part, I am having their calls (and 9 other unwanted telemarketers) forwarded to 866-647-4373 which is their actual toll free number listed on their website.
