Dream Scholars Foundation is cold calling people and trying to sell overpriced SAT study materials. They come on nice and friendly appearing very helpful with information about colleges and SAT. They have your child's name, address and phone number when they call. The bottom line is they are after your credit card so they can make unauthorized charges on it. I played along with it until they asked for my credit card. I NEVER give out my credit card to someone who calls me cold. What really concerns me is HOW did they get my child's home information? After talking to my child I have determined that the information came from forms filled out for the PSAT. I will be calling the College Board (www.collegeboard.com) as to how Dream Scholars Foundation got my child's information. I would suggest people who have been defrauded by Dream Scholars Foundation do the same to make the College Board aware of what is going on.

Pretty much the same as what others report, my daughter expressed interest in ACT study aids, they are following up, etc.

They are not a tax-exempt charity. If you are on the Do Not Call List every call they make to you is ILLEGAL and subject to an $11,000 fine!!! You may be able to get a civil assessment too! Report them to the FTC:

this number called and asked for my parents and i said "this is he, what?" he hung up.  Just to let those people who do this for a living know, they need to get a life and get a real job and earn money the honest way. If not they should kill themselves bcuz their nobodies and they won't make it in life. Just being honest...

I just got a call from this number 1-866-569-1215.  Asked if I was the mother of (16 yr son).  when i said yes, they proceeded to say they were calling from "Dream Scholars" and that my son had expressed an interest in signing up for College Prep materials and they wanted to talk to me first.  Then they asked 'does he have a computer at his disposal?"   I then said that before i would answer any questions i needed to know more about who was calling and what this was all about.   The woman - who had a slight edge to her tone from the beginning - turned very nasty and said 'You know what mam - i wish you...." and then hung up.  when i called back the number is not a working number.

Caller identified himself as representing Scholars Foundation.  He said my son expressed an interest in study materials for the SAT.  He gave his name as Carl Edwards.  Funny, that is my last name.  Then he was very nice and sold me on the materials for my son to study for the SAT.  He had my son's name, our mailing address, and our phone number.  After he had me sold on the free material (30 days trial) he gave me a tracking number and he asked for a major credit card so he could debit the card just to make sure there were funds available if we decided to keep the material.  When I told him that I would have to talk with my wife before spending money he argued that I was not spending money.  As soon as I put up a fight he got rude and hung up on me.  He called from 866-569-1215.  He gave a customer service number of 866-647-4373.  Carl, you need Jesus.  Seriously, he can help you.

A older man called stated he was calling about my daughter (said her name) and that she had checked a box on her SAT form wanting more information about preparing for the SAT. When I informed him that I would take his information and then get back with him, he hung up. I called the number back and it stated it was disconnected. I called the local police (of course he didn't break any laws) to inform them of this activity.

I actually totally disagree. I was really concerned about my daughter (she has test anxiety) well I recieved the call and was alittle worried about giving my money out to an unknown source but they charged me once and my daugter me the 200 pt increase on the guarantee! she got almost 50% in scholarships and is going to USF! im so proud of her and i think that the program the DREAM SCHOLARS FOUNDATION offers is amazing! So perents don't just hang up they are a legitimate company and they helped me allot!

I Bought the Dream Scholars Package when they called me and I couldnt be more happy! My son is not a grade A student however he took the ACT scored really well and is going to NYU! we are sooo proud of him and its due to the program we bought from the DREAM SCHOLARS FOUNDATION! So for people who are skeptical just try it you do have 30 days to decide! and believe me its WORTH it. ps Mr. CaymanRich how on earth do you have enough time in the day to post an entire "article" on questions when they don't call you anymore. Please.

We've been receiving these calls multiple times a week for several weeks. The caller asks for "[our son's name]'s mom or dad" and I say I'm his dad. The caller then says he or she is so-and-so (this afternoon it was Rachel) from the SAT Prep Center and tells me that my son requested SAT prep materials. As soon as I question this, the caller hangs up. The first time they called, the caller also asked a follow-up question -- if my son has a Windows PC. I said no and the caller hung up, but that answer hasn't stopped them from continuing to call.

This company keeps calling me, the first time "he" called I didn't quite here that he asked for my daughter, and I said "what".   He then yelled at me very obnoxiously and hung up.  He called again the following day on a Saturday morning and woke up my family.  He hung up on my husband.
I doubt a legit company would yell and scream at anybody for asking "what".   What a scam.  I will be filing a report with the FCC.
If this company calls again, I will try to get the number blocked from my phone company.

just called me and asked to speak to Kyle's mother or father...I said there is no Kyle that lives here...he responded by saying OK we'll try him at the tavern...I hung up

Keep getting calls from this number (4th day now)  No one ever says anything and when I press the call back button I get a recording saying the number is no longer in service.  The calls are received at the same time every day.

I agree 100%.  The same thing happened to me.  The representative who contacted me was SO nice.  I can't believe I fell for it!  I am in the process of trying to get a refund!  We'll see how this goes, I'm betting on an argument.  The ACT/SAT/PSAT test preparation cd is only what I really wanted, it is from Kaplan, which can be purchased for $50 online.  Dream Scholars bundled their stuff with it and charged $165.  They call it a contribution.

i got a phone call from this number as well they asked for my parents i said they were gone and they were like alright i'll call back later. sketchy.

I have had 3 calls in the last 3 days I have not been home each timethey have called. Bu they do not leave a message and Ihave tried calling back and it says the number is disconnected or n longer in service.
How is this legal, we can register our pone number on the do not call list, which has mad a big diffrence at my house for unwanted calls. But if BS company'scan call you for no true reason I am finding from reading everyone else message that as soon as you provide ome what of an answer about your child they hang up........... This can ot be legal, noone should be able to call you for any reason and have a bogu number show up on caller ID or star 69. Tha kinda defets some of the purpose or the registry Do-not-call list an caller ID yes I am pissed this is BS........

I was called as the parent of a high school student who requested info about the product that he is selling, Kaplan's SAT prep course on CD. He said that he represents a non-profit org, "Dream Scholar's Foundation" and is selling the product at a discount of $165 over Kaplan's $499. When I asked for contact info such as a return tel, he would not provide it and said that there is no contact info or tel, I must wait for their computer to call me. As I explained my discomfort in providing credit card info to a solicitor without any contact info incl a tel, he hung up on me.
