Yep, these folks are just plain old fashioned skip tracers. They are based out of the US, so they don't have to follow US laws about debt collections or private investigations. They'll do whatever they can to find out your personal info, probably so someone can serve you with a lawsuit, or put debt collectors after you.

I recieved a message at work.  I later got another call.  The lady said that someone sent me a package from Victoria's Secret and that it has already been paid for.  She kept questioning me for info on where to deliver the package, asking where do I live, whos address will this be going to, she even had another phone number for me which was my moms.  She wanted to know if I use her number (my reply was "Why is that your business) Very slick...easy to get caught by this one!

Just tried calling this number at 866-796-3942.  It answers as "the best currier company in america" but does not give a name.  Asks to leave a message or press 0 to talk to a representative.  Tried pressing 0, but it took me to another line that said all reps were busy and asked me to leave a message.  These people callee me stating they had a package to deliver and identified themselves as National Express.  I am expecting a package from Turkey, so those usually come via a different delivery company than UPS.  They had all of my info, but then attempted to contact my CELL PHONE company to get more info!!  The knew the last four digits of my SS#, and claimed they had the phone but couldn't get service.  Since they couldn't verify my password, my cell phone company volunteered to text it to the phone.  I got the text (since I have my phone), then an email stating that these people had tried logging into the company website and requested the password be emailed.  I've been on the phone all afternoon with anyone who knows me, making sure they aren't giving out any info.  This has to be collections, because if its a scam artist trying to take my money, why are they trying to get my cell phone account info?  Any info anyone can give would be great!

The number that called me was 800-860-2264 and 850-521-9515. A woman refused to identify herself except to say the call was National Express Delivery. She wanted to verify my name and phone number and address. She dropped two names of two people I don't know and said they had a delivery for me. I refused to cooperate and they called back repeatedly...over and over until I answered it and yelled at her. She said the driver is coming to my house and I can talk to him. I'm calling the Sheriff's Office.

I received a call today and got a voicemail to return the call, b/c they had a package....same as all of you, I didn't call back however, later on I received a call from my landlord's business' number.  When I answered it was them, I am worried they have managed to get my information already, as I pay several bills online, and access my bank account through my phone.  They tried to say the return address on my package was from my father, reading off his full name, I told him that is unlikely since he lives just down the street.

The calls are coming from Vonage! They call from different numbers and leave you a 800 or 866 number to call them for your package. I got a similar message and traced the numbers. File a FTC complaint and they will be investigated. If you have your number on the National Do Not Call List, then the trickster telamarketers are committing FRAUD. person by the name of Brian Dillon called from a company he called National Express Dleivery.  he asked for a coworker of mine, I told him that he no longer worked here.  he then started asking about where here could be reached, wanted Full Name, Address and Telephone number of this former coworker.  When I told him that i would not give out that information to people that I didn't know, he said that he was calling about a package that the former coworker had ordered.  he then demanded that i give him MY information, when I wouldn't, he asked for the address of my workplace.

same thing happened to my mother they said she had a box from target too.  Did they ever get your personal information?

what ever came of that phone call?  My mother was done the same way they said she already had someone come by with a package too. They said they would redeliver at 6pm and it was a package from target.  Are they trying to get personal info?

What's funny is...  I work for a police department and this also happended to me.  They called an old employer, that employer called and left me a message to call this 866#,  went to voicemail then I received several strange phone calls from businesses in the area asking if I was still interested in a job I applied for, never applied for a job there, not interested then wanted to know where I was presently working????  Anyway, hung up the phone cuase it seemd to fishy...
So just to ease your mind, it's not the police searching for a criminal.

I got a phone call first on my husband's cell phone with a message for me saying they had a package to deliver to me and gave a phone # to reach them and a tracking number...he didn't answer the call. and they immediatly called my cell phone, and when I didn't answer that, they called my land phone all within 1 minute...I looked up the company online and here I am!! I am going to call the number back and really mess with them after reading all these complaints!!  I am gonna have fun!!

They called and left a voice mail, and provided a tracking number.  I didnt call them back, because the company they said they had a package for knows my address.  I just let it go.  The very next day, they called for another person with the same last name as mine, and same message, different sending company.  Same bubbly chick saying she had left previous messages.  I am with "dj" up there, I'm gonna give 'em a run for their money...tee hee...

They have two different numbers associated with their call:

The female said they had a pre-paid package to deliver to me, would I be home today or tomorrow?  I said I would be.  She verified my address ... and said a security question had to be answered before the driver brought it out.  I asked where she was calling from and she said Seattle, WA in the home office.  I said it sounded like she was trying to sell me something and why would the driver only be in my area today or tomorrow?  She laughed very easily and said no, she wasn't trying to sell me anything.  The "package" was from Macy's and was purchased online, and no she couldn't give me any info about the sender since it was coming from Macy's.  I said I only know one person who shops at Macy's and she lives right here and wouldn't send the package.  But she said "it was purchased online". WELL, the security question was "Nancy's work".  I said WELL I'm disabled and haven't worked for over seven years.  Anyone who would buy me a gift KNOWS that and I have no idea what that security question is all about. She said she would send it back to Macy's and they could take it from there.  Are these people working for a collection agency?  Trying to get information for a collection agency?  I have one agency that has called me and leaves me robotic recorded messages and I won't talk to them until they call me personally.  They are from Washington state. ???????  Caller ID says "TOLLFREE NUMBER" but gives no area code.

These people are scammers, trying to get your personal information.  They will call everyone you know and even they dig deeper.  Be aware, and do not give them any personal information.  Tell them if they continue to call, that there call is being traced and you will contact the FBI.  You need to tell them too, that you are aware of what they are doing, and you will make sure that they will be stopped.  They have been doing this for years, they tried to do this to me within a 2 year span.  I haven't gotten a call in 3 years, thank God.  If they keep on calling you, advise them that there call is logged, and being recorded and you will be more than happy to press charges on them for harassment.  They will get scared, and stop calling you.

You will need to call the phone company or company that owns the number that has been calling you. When you call them, you need to tell them that you have been getting harassing phone calls from these people and tell them what they are and have been doing to you.  They will take note of your complaint, and will take further actions to stop this crap.  The majority of these numbers are owned by Verizon, you will need to find the 1-800 number for them, call customer service and ask to speak to a supervisor, and tell them what is going on.  They have to make a report and file the report against the phone number.  I had to do it for something else a long time ago, with a close case like this, eventually the bull crap stopped.  Here are the numbers and the companies that own the phone numbers...
