Received a call earlier today, requesting return call in message. No information included in the call.  Tired of tele-marketers and scams.

Receieved a call from this number last night.  No details, just that it was "a legal matter".

They called my business number. Someone named "Natalie" left a message she was from CRA and needed to talk to me - but she had my name wrong - about something very important. When I called the number all I got was music, no voicemail or person came on the line.

they called from CRA saying that is urgent and they wanted to help me from a attorneys office and it was a legal matter.

Just received a call from CRA, was told to call back immediatelly.  The name they used was my maiden name which I haven't used in 15 years, but they called on my cell phone, which I have had for a few years...

Was told to call 1-866-596-9135.

Just got a call from same phone # (317-660-6103) looking for my dad. They said to call them back at 866-596-9135. The lady said her name is Mary German (she sounded sweet and elder) from CR Associates. This company has been calling us for years looking for my dad and are usually very belligerent. Seems that maybe they are trying to change their tune. Anyway, my dad is on Medicare/Medicaid so there is no way that he can pay anything to these people. I requested that they mail out their request but they refused.

Just got a call from this number. It was CR associates. My husband had a visa about 10 years ago that was past due over 1k dollars and they needed him to settle before the IRS takes it and forces us to pay from our income. They dropped the amt due from 1,325.45 to 574.36....as long as i pay half now and half in two weeks! I did it and the lady was very nice!

I got a voice message from Sherry English calling from the Office of CRA and I should call her back at 1-866596-9135 regarding an important matter and that she could give me all he details when I call her back.  The funny thing is that she called my cel which I have had for a few years but called me by my maiden name which I haven't used in almost 20 years.

10 years ago? that debt isn't even collectable anymore. You should of inquired further...

Dont call these people back. Its a scam on old debt.

4 Rude hurrasing messages.  I do not have any bad debt on my credit file. Calling for a name I stopped using 10 Years ago.  No need to call them back.  How can I stop the calls ?

I hate to tell you but you just got scammed. This company buys lists of old debt that has been written off, and can not be reported on your credit report any longer. By giving them any money you are just paying them to keep in business and hassle others. Not a dime of that money will go to the visa card you mentioned. It goes to line this companies pockets. Worse yet, from what I understand once you pay them something or promise to pay them something they then can by law re-report this old debt on your credit report as a new debt where it will show to anyone looking at it for 7 years. I would not be suprised if no matter what they told you they would settle for they call you back trying to get the rest with the leagal threat now of reporting it on your credit reports.

To stop them you will have to take a call and tell them not to call you anymore or you will report them. By law once you do that they can't call you again.
They will try and scare you by saying they will report the debt to the IRS but that is garbage. The IRS has never been in the business of collecting consumer debt.

CRA called my mother asking for me and was very rude to her. They said I have an old debt from 2001. They wanted to settle and since I reported I can not do that at this time she said she will report that as a refusal and turn it in as a 1099C to the IRS. She was very rude and did not give me a chance to say much at all.

This company has called my in-laws house twice. They are asking for me by my first maiden and new last name. I have only been married a year. I have NO idea how they got their number as I have never even put their names/number on anything. They are rude to my mother in law and state that I better call back. I am getting tired of this as they just leave a file or claim number for me to refernce back too. They need to leave me and my family alone NOW. I do not owe anyone.

My ex sister in law as well as my brother received a call from this number (Mr. Gibson)and was told that he was with CRA and they process IRS documents for the federal government. I called the phone number and spoke with a Mr. Montgomery who wanted me to verify my social security number. When I wouldn't verify the social, he hung up on me.

2-16-2010: received a call from the above phone 866-596-9135 asking to speak with me.  I no longer live at the address of which they phoned so they asked for my phone number.  My friend did not give out my number and informed me that this unknown business has phoned his home numerous times! This morning 2-16-2010 I phoned the 866-596-9135 number and only got recorded music...no answer.
After reading all of the responses of individuals listed on this site I am thrilled that no one answered!  I have no further action planned on this inquiry!
If in fact this is an inquiry of 'the past' and over 10 years...no further action on my part is required by law!

Statue of limitation was up.
