Some how, this CRA company call my mother house; looking for this person,
left message in my answer machine. To call this this number and left a reference number. I have call back to let them know, this person does not live here, I do not know how they got this phone number. I have call them back, to tell them this person do not live here. They ask me, do I know this person, I say I do not know this person; That is why I call them to let them know, this person do not live here, so they don't have to call me back again. I just letting them know, no such person live here.

I try to find out how they got this phone number; they did'nt want to tell how they got this number.

Also, one more thing, went I returned that phone call; I got this terribale music and they did not pick up the phone right way. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ARE THEY RUNNING. They should something about that music and
about answer the phone.

I have a lot of old debts and have been paying them off.  Since then, my parent's house seems to be getting more and more calls especially from the 1-866-596-9135.  They left a message with a file number and said to call them back ASAP as this call is urgent.  I am glad I read these posts before calling back.  A good hint that this was not a legitimate company was the fact that the phone number would not bring up the company name.  Any legitimate companies name would generate during a phone search.

Received a call at my office from "Molly" and returned the call.  A man answered and stated that she was on another line.  Told him that I didn't know what the call was concerning and apparently from the caller ID knew who I was.  The call was concerning an old credit card debt from 2000 that has already been reported on my credit.  He said that they would offer to "settle" the debt for $1100 otherwise they would issue a 1099 to the IRS for $8000 and I would be responsible for the income tax on the $8000.  I guess they don't know the 7 year limit and it's off your credit report OR that the IRS doesn't look at credit card debt as "income".  If you do return the call, *67 before you dial to prevent them from getting your phone number.

This place called my daughter-in-law's mother(!) 200 miles away saying MY daughter gave her as a contact #. My daughter doesn't even know d-i-l's mother's name! When I called back I blocked my # but "Mr.Montgomery" knew my name and that of  my husband. And the joke is, this is for a hospital bill that is already paid in full. I thought there were laws in place to prevent this type of thing.
