Dispute the charge with your bank.

This number was on my bank statement for an 104.99 charge so i called.

It was McAfee and after expressing my extreme displeasure and regret that they engaged in these business practices they agreed to refund the money.

Note: it was the second tier of customer support that gave me the refund.  I will monitor my account like a hawk to see if the money actually makes it back in.

It wasn't McAfee; It was a recording about politics

Received a charge of $97.41 from McAfee on an unauthorized billing that I was not notified nor wanted.

Receiving calls after cancelling McAfee, my advice change your CC # if possible Cancel McAfee & get BitDefender or another reliable service, McAffe is a complete corrupt mess.

Got a call from this number after on line discussion with mcafee

Customer service doesn’t know what they are doing.

I did too but at 5:30 am. I answered only because I was shocked to see an 866 number calling me at 5:30 am. I didn't say anything at first and a man said hello? So I said why are you calling me at 5:30 in the morning. The guy again said hello and then hung up. Not sure what is going on but I'm worried about having McAfee on my phone now.

The call came in at 5:30 am. I normally don't answer my phone if I don't know who it is but at 5:30 am I was passed off so I answered it but didn't say anything at first. I wanted to see if it was a robot call. It wasn't. After a couple seconds of silence i heard a man say hello. I then asked why he was calling me at 530 in the morning. He said hello again and hung up. I don't know what the hell is going on with this company but if it really is McAfee then I'm worried about having it on my phone. I feel the company might be a front for identity theft or it has been hacked.

Your last sentence makes no sense.

saw a billing for $79.99. Called McAffee to inquire. They asked my name, email, address and phone and couldn't find my account. Switched me to an electronic answerer which asked for my credit card number. I hung up! I don't give credit card info out. After all the charge was to my card so they should have the account number - right? Called my credit card company and put in a fraud complaint and asked for a refund and destroyed my current card. Beware - don't answer any personal questions.

Did you also have your credit card company cancel your account? Simply destroying the card won't do it and it won't prevent this scammer from taking money again.

My mom just had a 109.00 charge show up on her credit card and she did not sign up for it. She's 79 and am trying to help her fix this...ughh

This is a SKAM!   Hang up and report them

I got an email from this company and called to cancel my membership.  Turns out I never had a membership and they were asking a lot of questions about my identity.  I didn’t feel right about the call and hung up.   Good thing.  I learned this is a Scam!
