Is this a collector? They are saying I have been notified

They are fake.  They are trying to harass you into paying old debt.  They have bought your info...don't pay and check your credit report.

they are sort of real...they buy old debt it seems.  Likely not dept you still owe or need to repay.  They try to get you to pay them for it.  Check if the statute of Limitations is past on the debt and tell them to f off.

They contacted me as an "investigator" and never identified themselves via voicemail.  Threatened with a summons to my "home or possible place of employment"  (Illegal) Said I could contact the "injured party at... to avoid being served." and their number and a case# .  Called under a blocked number.  Alluding to court proceedings and legal action is against the FCRA.  Filing a complaint and contacting my lawyer.

They called me stating that I need to home to receive papers. I told them I was not home and they told me that I was refusing them. How can that be consider refusing them? They said that they will see me on Feb15, lol. I already reported them to the FTC

Annoying kept calling my house on a private number so i pick up and hang up the third time i finally answered in frustration. She said was an investigator. Then she said she was a third party trying to serve me papers. Court issued documents that i have to sign for. Then dropped me this P.O.S. # ONLY FOR ME TO GOOGLE AND FIND OUT ITS ALL HORSE 💩

Called from an unknown number. Stated they were a process service licensed in the state regarding a fax they received today. Used the wrong first name then used my real first name as if it was my middle name. Nothing is on my credit report or outstanding....

Left voicemail stating it was legal services and stated I have been summoned and will be served at my residence or my place of employement. States I need valid ID. I called the number back and was transferred 3 times and kept getting disconnected. It's a scam to attempt to scare you into paying an old debt or whatever and has no legal bearing what so ever. Never spoke with a person, finally transferred me to a voicemail. I hung up.

This company is trying to collect on a payday loan that I never had in a state I never lived in. Then a so-called investigator calls me with a unknown_Private. Says she's going to serve me with court papers, but according to them the debt was back in 2000. That is 17 years old and they can't collect on something that old. I have asked them to verify the debt in writing and they absolutely refused to do so. Please be prepared that will badger you as they used to call me 3-5 times a day until I changed my number. I don't know how they got my new number as it is listed as a business name.

Donna Hagen just called me from a blocked number said she was a prosser to serve me papers.  Call the 866-680-8935 gave me a case number.

this is a phone call that said I still owed $1496.00 to cash advance. I told them that was already taken care of. I called and they gave me the information of what I owed and said I needed to call Cash advance to get it cleared. They said on the message they were going to serve me. But when I looked up this number they are showing it is a scam.

A lady called me from a private number  and said she's a investigator for this company. She said that she would be coming out to my place of employment or my home to serve me with a summons or I could call this number which includes a case number and settled a debt. This the first I've heard of this dent in 11 years. Not sure of who they are and if there ligate.

They left me a message. Eric Palmer (Locator from the State of Louisiana).  Wants me to sign some documents...  Gave me a case #.  Told me to call 866-680-8935.  I called it and got transferred to voice mail.

This is insane... Female caller, stating she would be serving me papers. I was leaving my office to attend a funeral and not thinking clearly. I just took the name, same 866 number and my case number. Called 3 times and put over to a voice mail that was full. Googled the company and then with the phone to find all of this info! Won't be answering unknown callers anymore!

Received phone call from someone who identified themselves as Kerri Edwards a private investigator. She stated she would be serving me papers and call 866-680-8935. I called my county courthouse and sheriff department who both stated if this was legitimate they would not be calling. They also said that is a scare tactic possibly a scam.  Tried to google ProSource and nothing comes up.

IF you call that number they ID themselves as "Pro Source Servicing".  At least that's what it sounds like.  Wouldn't give me any more information.

Most likely this group.  Note that many of the smaller towns in upstate New York are hotbeds for debt scamming.  This is clearly some sort of debt scamming operation.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

Hello. Whatever came out of this? I got the same thing today.

got a call from an unknown number asking me to call 8666808935 they left a VM said they had my SSN and that charges were file on it (Clout Financial Services) and they were handling the case. So I started questioning them and told them my attorney would contact them and they hung up on me.

Lady called me from a blocked number with old information trying to serve me. Had the address from 6 years ago and just my maiden name. Gave me a number for pro source. Called them and they are trying to collect on a debt I don't remember and should have been covered in my bankruptcy. They said they talked to my lawyer and she said it didn't include them. It included my checking account but not my check for a payday loan. Not sure I remember this debt and if so statue of limitations should be on it. Also nothing is showing up on my credit report or the repository which shows cases u have been involved in or pending cases. Won't be answering their call again.
