- Dee replies to AnaI received a vm tonight from a Mike Lee, Processor server, that I was being served with papers to appear in court and to call 1-866-697-3175. If I did not call, they would assume my address was correct and have the sheriffs office serve me with papers to appear in court. Curious to see if I receive any, also they call from a blocked number. I have never heard of process servers giving anyone advance notice of being served.
- DeeA guy by the name Mike Lee called, saying he was a process server and the sheriffs department would be delivering a summons to my home. Gave no company name on the voicemail.
- PGBSame sort of stuff everyone else is writing about, the call came in on my cell from a "restricted number"
( I dont answer restricted numbers) The person calling did not identify themselves but said that a complaint had come to her office and I had to call the original office of the complaint and give them a reference number to discuss this. Yeah right!
No company name, nothing but 866-697-3175 and a reference number.
We have recently been trying to buy a house and I will wager that somewhere along the line of applications, my information was snagged.- Caller: Unknown
- KAY| 1 replyI am being harrassed by these people and keep calling my place of work, I received a call from 866-697-3175 number, First a guy named Derrek insist and forcing me to pay $2700 and I can make payments, he wanted me to pay $400 and the rest I can make payment of $270 to $300 a month, he also mentioned that I have 24 hours to come up with $400. He also mentioned that he will be expecting my call the next day so we can settle, per Derrek I was being sued by Sears. I took his number but I never called him back. 3 weeks later, a lady named Lisa Cole called my work place and she stated that she's calling from RSA Ree, she's in the Final Department, she wanted me to call her at 866-697-3175 ext. 209. I called that number today and I asked the name of the company, the lady who answered the phone said that "it's C Answering Service", first I couldn't understand what she was saying because she's not saying it clearly, the lady keep asking of my file number, I just decided to hung up the phone. I googled this 866-697-3175 number and find out today it's a scam.

- Rob replies to KAYSame scam, different number. See http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710
Say "I deny I owe this" and hang up on them. Refer anyone from your work to the FBI website above, as well as this one and the links down the right side. Do not let them upset you, continue to hang up repeatedly. There is no such thing as a "Final" department.
As they are probably calling from out of the country, they say anything they want as they are fairly sure no one can do anything to them. - BusinessI just got a call from this # and a gentleman asked for a Manager, given that the caller ID said, "Private" I assumed it was a telemarketer, so I asked him, "which manager?", he said the "hr manager or the boss of blank (a certain employees' name)". I told him that I was the office manager and asked what he was calling in reference to. He said he was calling about a complaint against that particular employee - he was very vague. He told me that they had tried to reach the employee at his home multiple times and that they don't like to go through peoples places of employment, but were left with no choice. He asked that I pass a message on to the employee to contact them @ 866-697-3175 and reference case # .... Sounds like a scam from what everyone else has posted. I will pass the message along to the employee, but I will warn him about what I have read about it. If I hadn't checked he probably would've called and paid them...
It's crazy and annoying that people can do crap like this and get away with it!- Caller: "Private"

- Jen| 1 replyJust got a very legal sounding, harassing voice mail from Ariana at 855-702-9350 stating that she was from the County Legal Court Filing firm to report I had an SD100 summons being filed on me and that I needed to contact their office to stop the officer from coming back out. They also stated this was attached to my residence and social security number. Let to above phone number and a case number. Well I called them back and gave them the case number as instructed along with the name of the person who left the voicemail, they transferred me to some guy who started screaming at me and told me not to call back. This is a debt collector trying to collect very old debts that have past the statute to be collected or on your credit report. I then called the number right back and stated the case number again, the same guy answer, he then informed me that the case number did not exist.
- Alfalfa replies to JenThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
