These guys are phoning me CONSTANTLY, and the message they leave is that I need to contact them immediately, as there is a personal matter that needs to be resolved... Huh???? I have no monies owed to anyone that I can possibly think of... it's really weird.

Two things here, one there is a reason for the call and two there is not. The only way to find out is to return the call. If it is legit (monies owed??) then you should deal with it. If you are being called in error you will want to correct it, as if it is in fact a debt collection call your phone number will remain in the 'system' and will be passed from agency to agency. My two cents.......

This is Nordon Collections calling most likely about an unpaid debt or they have the wrong number.  You will get calls until you call them back to discuss it obviously or they will have no way of finding out its a wrong number.

    ignore them
    there's nothing they can do
if you pick up, just listen, or put on quick mute
    it frustrates them
if you owe them monies, either you can settle or run the limitation period out on them.
i'm an example of a hard ass.
    all assets sheltered
    have holding companies
    they can't touch me
    except to call me repeatedly
once they called me about 6x in 90 minutes or about 1 call every 15 minutes
it's not a matter of paying them.
    it's now become a game
they will never see a nickel from this hardASS

There is no reason to respond.
I have been in collections for 20 odd years.
If you owe the money, let them sue you...they won't.
If you don't,,,and trust me that happens ALOT ...ignore them.
    Collectors don't 'laugh' at anything.
They get paid when they collect.
    They rarely laugh.

    Have fun.

Margerite Wilson keeps phoning from this number saying we MUST return her call in order to resolve an important business matter, she even claims to have a file number for my boyfriend. Annoying me will not get you results, I plan on ignoring her incompetent persistence.

Since you sound like you have experience  on these calls I wonder i you have ever actually tried to take one of these calls? First, if you do answer you wait on hold a minimum of 9 minutes (I've times them several times) until I grow tired of waiting to hear from this call that is so important. When I have tried to call it, the same thing happens, and eventually I hang up. I am not going to wait on the hone for more than one minute anymore before I hang up. So I don't know why these [***] call as they don't seem very interested.

I got a call from this number yesterday.  Said they were looking from someone by the name (that I can't even pronounce). I told this ignorant woman that there was no one by that name at this listing.  She then asked how long that I have had this phone number which I refused to answer.  I asked her to identify herself and she refused.  She continued asking questions regarding this individual and I kept asking her to identify herself.  She finally answered "Vancouver".  I asked if she was calling on behalf of the city of Vancouver and her reply was that I didn't need to know who she was or who she was representing.   My reply to that was, " So you just call people to harass them at eight in the morning and think that they do not have the right to know who or why they are being harassed?"   She then said that she was taking my name out of their system and to that I again asked " what and who's system?"  She again told me that it was non of my business.  So to that, I called her an extremely ignorant name and hung up the phone.  I called the number back to find out who it was and was told that the number that I had dialed could not be reached as dialed.

watch out for this number, im pretty sure its a scam, talked to some lady, she refused to give me her name, and was not clear at all about what she was calling about, just saying i owed virgin mobile 250$ for an account that i closed over 3 years ago. i finally got that she works for EOS NCN which is a legit collections agency. i asked how i could pay, and she said credit card only. i looked up the website for EOS and there it said many different ways to pay, including going into my bank to pay it directly. also i was receiving anywhere from 3-10 calls a day. today i finally had enough did some research and talked to the bi*** again, told her you wont get a cent out of me until this goes to court.
i hope thats the last of it.

These [***] called my work. I've never given them permission for that. On top of that, they're calling me about a debt I paid years ago, have given them proof, and told them to f-off. Who should I call to complain if I'm in Alberta?

I rec'd. a call from this no. yesterday, no message. Being a 1-800 no. I googled it and got this website. Thanks for your notes.
I put the no. into Call Blocking. I have since rec'd. 4 calls today. It gets 1 ring and is then blocked. We'll see what they do next not that I'm worried. They're just a nuisance.

Even if the scum bags are calling the wrong number and you call to tell them so, they WILL keep calling! I know from personal experience. They don't care. It's almost like the rat droppings are paid by the phone call or something.

No they don't. They are paid when they collect. If they get no response, they don't collect. If they don't collect they don't get paid. If they don't get paid, it's frustrating. Think about what you're writing COLLECTOR!

Block their number.  Your phone may have a "number block" feature, or if you're using your cell phone, you may be able to download an app to block numbers.  Or just assign a "no ring" tone to the caller, so the calls don't bother you.
