Got a call from this number today- claiming they needed to "verify" and "clear restrictions" from my credit card (I don't own one!) without providing any information regarding a banking institiution or any affiliated company. Asked for 16 digit credit card number, which I made up, then expiration date, which I made up, then PIN number, which I made up, then CVV number, which- you guessed it- I made up, then it said "thanks for verifying your information, your safety is of utmost importance to us" or somesuch thing and hung up on me. MOST OBVIOUS SCAM EVER- THIS IS FRAUD. Reported them to the FTC.

I got same text as everyone else BUT I received it within minutes of having both used my debit card at an ATM and my mastercard at a convention show to purchase an item. I wonder now if either the ATM or the guy"s card reader at the show have been compromised. Did anyone else get this text under similar circumstances?

an eppicard is used by the fl dept of revenue to (most times) put child support money on.  The eppicard is issued by the DOR to active child support , or unemployment compensation recipients.  according to ACS, the eppicard controller:

I got a text that says all of this:

"You have received a new EPPICard (Florida) banking alert.  CaLL now free: 1-1866-719-3878 and follow instructions to resolve this alert."

That is it verbatim (including the spelling errors!) I don't know how people can get away with crap like this!

I just received the same text. I used my debit card at a Walgreens today. I think they're just spamming cell phone #'s in Florida. I called from my home phone just to see if I could get more info to turn them in, but they just keep asking for me to input my 16 digit credit card #. Which one? They don't even say what company they are - so that anyone calling would have no clue. Idiots. Please people, don't give them any info.
