"You have received a new EPPICard (Florida) banking alert. Call now free 1-1866-719-3878 and follow instructions to resolve this alert. - MClearly some kind of scam. I just took a trip and received this message as soon as I returned home. Since that's the only time I use my cell phone, they must have gotten my number from the rental car or hotel room. Never had such a card; never banked with Florida bank. Don't call the number. They may be able to get information just from your return call.
- Caller: unknown
- Just WonderingI have T Mobile and I see several of you also have T Mobile as well. Wonder how many are T mobile customers maybe they got there list. Still it is the most pathetic scam I have ever seen can't even think who would fall for it. Tip to all Never give out any of your account numbers to any one unless you call them. I work for a Bank and I can assure you if they call you they verify other information and never require you to give out the account number. NEVER GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER OR YOUR SS# TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU CALL THEM.
- M replies to tomOutstanding idea!!!!! I'm going to start calling them from pay phones and flood them with tons of numbers. I'm going to email all my friends and fellow students too. This is gonna be fun!

- PJ replies to xI live in Florida. last week I applied for unemployment, and requested benefits via EPPI card program.
Today I received the subject text also, from 866-719-3878. I called that number, it is not in service. I later called the legit 877-567-1768 number to verify if I am on the system. I was not.
When I applied for unemployment, I did so on the Agency Workforce computer, at their office in Clearwater.
Obviously there is a connection. Either there is a security problem within the their website, or agency itself and the Florida Attorney General, or Department Of Revenue needs to look into that. Who knows what other types of confidential, personal information is being illegally obtained. - LSReceived the same message on my cell phone
- Caller: T Mobile
- mekoraccoonI got a text from that number Saturday which I thought was weird. I called it back and gave false information. It asked for card number experation date code on back and pin number. I went to my bank Wednesday and showed them the email. They called the number which was disconnected. It was then reported to the fraud department. I had to cancel my debit card in case. My bank told me they would never text me or email me wanting any such information. They said scam scam scam. Thankfully no charges were done. UI do not know how they got my cell number either.
