I just received one.  I fulfilled the lease a year ago, sent them back their defunct equipment and closed my bank account that was connected to that account.  they are continuing to harass me and trumping up these phony charges

Voicemail from Lease Financing Group warning about ensuing legal action for being 6 months past due on a lease.  I've never leased anything in my life.

MBF Leasing has been harassing me from that phone number too. I had leased a credit card machine and broke the lease...stopped paying and they actually did get a judgment against me....didn't hear from them for approximately 7 years...now they are sending letters and calling frequently.

I've read soo much stuff about them...I don't know if I should go ahead and finish paying for it or just forget about it........

Might want to look into your states SOL's (statue of limitations) first.. Easily googled, Your State + Statue of Limitations.  The sudden surge of letters and demands smacks of they know the SOL is up and if you commit yourself, your only voiding the SOL.

Received call from this number on 11/25/2014

Received another call from this number but did not call them back they claim that I owe them money.  However, I do not lease anything and pay cash for the items that I have it is a scam just to get info.

I got a call to my home phone  from this number about collection a bill due more than 6 months  I thought it is a scam  today around 10:02 am

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

Received a call from 1-866-733-9184. Voice message said my account was six months overdue and that my account had been turned over to  a legal department.  Never heard of company before

You are correct!!  Total sleaze..  We had to close a bank account because they would continue to debit an account even after equipment was returned to them. Then they still continued to add monthly charges and paper bill us.  We tried to deal with them, but found that was impossible, so we said screw it...

Have repeatedly received harassing calls from this number over the last couple of years claiming that we are overdue, and now today there was another call warning that their legal collections department, as part of the first stage of lawsuit, would be sending legal documentation with additional fees added, unless we place a call within 48 hours to stop.   Have never leased ANYTHING from ANYBODY in our lives.  This is crazy!

I am planning on taking legal action.

I have had the same thing happen- scammed me into a credit card machine at the company I worked for and once we processed transactions the fees they charged tripled. I sent the  machine back and cancelled our account but they said I personally had a contract with them and not the business I worked for. They continued to take money out of the business account until the company closed. Now, 8 years later, they are still mailing me threatening letters at my home and continually call my cell phone- which I had changed but they got the new number anyways. They have even called my parents at their home looking for me, telling them that I missed a court date in my home town and that a warrant has been issued and that I will be "served" What is wrong with these people?

Just received a partial robot  message on my phone voice mail from 866-733-9184.   No  company name given, Indicating past due debt, was reported to my credit bureau, would be pursued in court...............

I did not call back.  I see lots of comments here, that indicate a scam.   I will block this number from my phone.

This company is Northern Leasing. They are a real company but are not accredited with the BBB. There are many complaints against the company and class action lawsuits. they apparently lease out equipment for credit cards and such. Northern Leasing is in New York, their address is 132 West 31st Street.They have been calling my cell for years! I have never heard of this company prior to the calls nor have I ever done business or rented any equipment from them. I am not sure how they received my number -  do not give out any personal info to them!!! They cannot be trusted!!

Yeah I just got the same call

866-733-9184 called our office today with the message that our account and been sent over to the legal department.  I called the number back and they wouldn't say anything.  I said hello and a lady said, "yes?"  I told her I just got a call from there and didn't know who it was for.  She asked for my lease number.  Told her I didn't have a lease number.  She sent me to another department and it went to some ladies voice mail.  SCAM.

They said that it was a summons call and by not calling back, judgement would side with them.  This number needs to be shut down.

I got the call today. I ignored it and check the web. yup, it's a scam.
