Cindy Stokes called saying I was a person of interest on a claim to make a statement. And also Cathy Johns 8667162077 wants an updated address to add so she can outsource some paperwork to a local courier. Says she is a liaison for Regional Acquisition company.

I had the exact same message regarding my wages  being garnished ~ How did you resolve this?  I was told I only have until 8pm tonight ~ Insane

I got the exact same message, that they are going to outsource some paperwork to a local courier to my last known employer and she identified herself as Cathy Johns at 866 716 2077.  They have left messages on my home phone number and my cell phone number and have contacted my son who lives out of the state.  Their messages are always very threatening which is why I have not called them back, I don't respond to threats.  I don't know if they are real or not.  I tried calling them back today and got a message to leave my name and a number they can reach me at and that they would call back when it was convenient to them.  I also get messages from them for a person I have never heard of before.  Today was the first time they have identified themselves as Regional Acquisition Group.  They have never told me who they represent or what they are calling about.  They have also said they have tried to mail me notifications that have come back to them as undeliverable, there is no reason anything would be returned to them as undeliverable.

File fraud asap and get your accounts changed. File reports with the FTC and CFB etc (links in my post above..

I have been receiving several calls from local numbers with the same message, to call bac an 866-927-0828, or they were gonna have a liaison in my area serve me

A call came in from a local phone number and I did not answer it.  There was  voice message left stating "You have been named a person of interest in a claim that has been placed in my office, we are trying to contact you before a liability search has been launched and a person locator has been launched.  Once this is done several parties can be contacted and interviewed including but not limited to your current and past supervisors neighbors and relatives.  If you are interested in finding out about the claim contact my office at 866-927-0828 (Rebecca Thomas)

Legit debt collector. I just paid this off in May and received a confirmation letter. I found out where the debt started then traced to Regional Acquisition as the most recent company collecting the debt. My original was 5/3 bank. Hope this helps.

Hi, I got a call from these people last week (RAG), via a recorded voice message telling me that I am a party to a settlement and that if I didn't respond, they would contact my employer. The voice message said to contact a Tom O'Leary and when I called back, I got a Marcus Jones who said Tom was in court and couldn't speak with me. He then told me that they were calling about a past due account I supposedly have with a credit card company. He told me the balance was $1600+ and that I opened the account in 5/2010 and the last payment was received in 9/2011. He claimed that they already had a summons against me and are just waiting for me to be served and they would then freeze my bank accounts. He said that the only way for me to stop them from freezing my account is for me to enter into a settlement plan right away and pay them $1100. I don't remember having an account with the specific credit card company; however, I pulled my credit report, and there is an account on there from that specific company. But...the amount of the debt and the opening/last payment dates are completely different. I called the original creditor, who told me they sold it to one company. I called that company and so on, and on the 4th call was told that the account had been sold to a Regional Acquisitions Group. I looked them up online and they do have a website; however, aside from an address, phone number and supposed email address, there really isn't any other information. I then called my state court, and checked to see if there had been any judgment/summons filed against me by anyone, and they confirmed that NO ONE has filed any type of claim against me. I'm still kind of wondering if this is real or a scam, but until I do, I'm not answering any more of their calls, and they've called me 2 more times since I called them back. Do you know if there is one company (RAG) that is a fraud and one that is real???

How fo you report these people ? Should I change my phone # and bank acct.#? I known this is a scam,  just started to get these calls after a hospital notified that patients personal info was obtained when thete system was attavked and hacked into , also recently same think at my bank  . Intetesting isnt it?

They just called me now with a 708 #. Told me to return the call to a 855 #.

I just checked out the BBB site.....there is an alert on this company...I suggest everyone go to the BBB sit and check it out.
