Continues to call me on a daily basis.  Hangs up immediately upon my answering.

Receiving calls from this number a week ago. Since I dont know the number, did not receive it, anyone know who they are?

i have filed a complaint on the do not call website im sure the more complaints the more that will be done.

i also recently shopped auto insurance, how do you make them leave you alone and quit burning your cell phone miles without having to sue?

I don't usually answer numbers i don't know unless they call me nonstop, then when i answer no ones there.......grrrrrrrrrr

Allstate Insurance after I went online price shopping....

Has called me over two dozen times in the last 3 days, has not left a single message.  Answered once and was hung up on.  Going to file a complaint on the Do Not Call website.

Not sure if it's Allstate, as I already have Allstate so why would I ask them for a quote?

They keep calling only to hang up. I want it to stop immediately

the number 866 797-7639 is indeed from AllState Insurance and if you are receiving calls from this number it is because at some point in time you asked for an online unsurance quote. Just call the number and speak to a rep and tell them you wish not to receive call(s)

My research & solution to receiving harassing calls from: 866-797-7639:

THIS "SALES" CALL WAS GENERATED FROM A WEB SITE OWNED BY "INSWEB" (insurance quote site).

YOUR NUMBER IS THEN SOLD TO ALLSTATE for "cold calls" or "sales calls."  However, when you answer no one responds and they do not leave a voice mail.

They called 2-4 times a day for over a week.  

Based on my Google search, I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK and a rep at an ALLSTATE CALL CENTER answered immediately. I was told that there is a delay when they call and I should be waiting 5 seconds for someone to respond.  FIRST OF ALL I never hung up on them, the call ALWAYS ended on their end!  SECOND: voice mail greetings are more then 5 seconds; so why don't they leave a message?!  They faked genuine concern and would report the problem immediately.

TO ADD PHONE # TO ALLSTATE'S DO NOT CALL LIST (here is what I went thru):
They wanted full name, address and phone number.  At this point they only have my number and look at how much harassing they do!  

I POLITELY REFUSED (this rep is only doing a job and if we get mad we will seem like the "offensive jerk") and requested to speak to a supervisor (CALLS ARE RECORDED, PER MESSAGE AT BEGINNING OF CALL...so speak clearly and to the point)  

If the rep keeps talking...simply say again: "I WANT TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR."  Repeat as necessary (twice for me).  You will be put on hold, rep will check in, but you should not have to wait more then 60 seconds.

The supervisor will ask again for all your personal information, but all they really need to put you on a "do not call" list (per supervisor I spoke to) is your phone number (which they already have if you called from the phone they've been calling...unless it's blocked) and your state.

Two possible reasons calls may continue:

1.  If your phone number is in their "system" more then once, only 1 entry can be removed at a time (per call and after waiting 3 to 4 working days).

2.  It can take 3 to 4 working days for the "system" to add you to the Do Not Call list for Allstate (not including sat & sun) so calls may continue during this time.

GOOD LUCK and BOO ALLSTATE FOR THE WORST MARKETING PLAN I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

Yep, just used Mint.com to get an auto quote from several different companies. Within 30 seconds I had 2 calls from this number and another. Please people, don't call me at work .... that's why I am submitting a quote online and providing my email address.

Same thing happened as reported, answered and no call. I am guessing it's an automated system that calls me then connects to an agent. I hate getting calls on my cell phone during work hours, and I hate waiting. Put those 2 together and you get an equation that will make me NOT want to go with the insurance company.

it's allstate ripoff insurance. you don't need it just write a bond.....

Got call - did not answer - did not recognize the number - they did not leave message. I don't give out my cell number to companies, so I'm not too sure why I'm getting this...

We suddenly began receiving calls from this number.  The calls never came in at a time when anyone was at home to answer the calls.  We have been very happy with our current insurance for the past 9 years and have NO intention of switching.  We did NOT go on line or ask for any type of insurance quote.  HOWEVER, several years ago, our insurance agent DID mention that one of the company's computers had been stolen out of a car while one of the employees was taking the computer to the shop for some repairs.  We have received a lot of strange E mails for several years - all of which we suspected COULD have been traced to that stolen computer.  This is the first time that we have begun to strange telephone calls as well.  These people never leave any type of message, so we are suspecting that it is some type of telemarketing scheme.  We received similar calls from  ALL STATE INSURANCE, 21st CENTURY and AIG INSURANCE.
