- RS| 1 replyI answered finally as they never leave messages. The woman said the conversation was being recorded the call was concerning something they were "handling" and wanted me to confirm the last four digits of my social security number. I told her there was no way in hell I was going to do that an not to ever call again. I asked who was calling and she hung up.
I have had a LOT of insurance calls the last few days so no doubt it was someone calling to give a quote but why the heck would they need the last 4 digits of my social? Nuh uh. No way.- Caller: Unknown

- RSI wish I could edit my above post. It is Allstate Insurance. Recording my message on a case they are "handling" and want my social security number before they will even tell me who they are? No feckin way.

- KpWent online for a quote and they keep calling. Tried answering and there was nobody on the other end! I actually was considering switching to Allstate, but after this, I'm not so sure. If you want my business so badly that you'll continuously call me day after day, why can't you leave a freaking message??? I'm also getting calls from random cell phone numbers (local), which are in close proximity to the 866 calls so I'm wondering if they are local agents???

- DJReceived a call from some guy asking me about a quote for car insurance. I told him that I never sent in for a quote and he apologized and we hung up. Got a call from (816-912-0531) 1 minute later asking me the same thing. I was a little irriated and with him and told him to not call again. Got ANOTHER call from (800-850-2792) for another quote 2 minutes later that I didn't pick up! These calls started over 2 months ago and went on for a month and then stopped. NOW their back!! I estimate over 75 calls. Their doing a good job of driving me crazy! What to do?

- Eric in OhioIt really is Allstate. They're blatantly disregarding the law. We've been on the DNC for years and no one here has initiated any kind of contract or even sought insurance of any kind. I guess they figure the fines are worth it.
I answered the call, the lady was nice, I was nice, she asked for a member of the family by name that doesn't even use the computer and I said "We have not initiated any kind of business or contact. Please let me speak to a supervisor."
She hesitated for a few seconds and said: "Sir, I can put you on our DNC myself, You don't need to speak to a supervisor."
And I said "Please do." She was nice, she confirmed she was doing it, have a nice day, click.
This is after a dozen calls yesterday and already 3 calls today in a handful of hours. Unreal.- Caller: Allstate Insurance

- Corky-GAllstate, Schmallstate. No insurance can beat USAA. I just pick up and hang up - I accept no calls from toll free numbers.

- JimHAnother bunch of annoying animals, very unprofessional, continually calling with no Id on Caller Id but will not leave a message. Who wants to give money to an organization that is such scum that wants to sell you something, but will not leave a message? I put them in the same category with the Godless animals and devils that call on Sundays and after 7 PM. A pox on them!

- RichardI'm getting calls from this number every few hours. I don't answer, but it sure is a nuisance to have to stop what I'm doing only to find out it's this number again.
- Richard replies to RSNow it's sounding more like a scam artist than an insurance telemarketer. If you're calling a scammer, they're still going to tell you they're from Allstate if you're dialing the number they're calling you from. Anyone who asks for any personal identification on a call they're claiming to be telemarketing is committing a fraud. The clever people who commit frauds also do them on emails using valid looking pages copied from legitimate businesses.
