I received two messages from this company who identified themselves as Mc Coy Law Group.  The person who left the message said his name was Marcus Powell.  The number on caller ID was 866-803-0755, but left another number of 678-368-4233.

They left a message on Friday, 02/21/2014 at 8:13AM CST stating there is something in their office that needs to be communicated to me and for me to call them back.  A second message was left for me at 8:16AM CST (3 minutes later) saying due to my lack of response, they have no other alternative than to go forward and pursue this issue.  He also went on to say that he would be contacting my county sheriff to have me arrested at my home and or place of work.

How can they be stopped???

I received the same message this morning from this number. They leave message with family members saying the same thing. I believe its a spam.

McCoy Law Group

This company calls every 2 months or so. They call me at work and cell. They call my family as well. Each time I am going to be arrested, and each time nothing happens. I don't even know what I am going to be arrested for, but it is REALLY annoying!!!

This  company called my mom and said that I  owed a payday loan an it needed to be resolved by today or else I would be prosecuted.

I'm a secretary at the actual McCoy Law Group in Las Vegas, Nevada, and just received a call from a young lady advising that someone was using our company's name to threaten and harass people about debts that may or may not really exist.  First off, these people are lying little weasels! They have no association with a legitimate law office anywhere and no one from a legitimate law office would spew that kind of crap.  Unfortunately it's nothing new: someone told me a couple of years ago that he got a call from somebody claiming they were from an actual court in Miami, Florida, saying that he had some sort of debt to them and they were going to send the police to have him picked up.  It was nonsense, and when they called him back and he started asking questions, they got hostile and hung up.  I'm sorry they're using our name, but with the blessings of the "real McCoy" please feel free to hang up on them.

I just received a call from this company as well. I talked to a young girl who was really nasty at the mouth and hung up in my face. So I called back to get a little information from them, and the next person I got was a lady named Stephony Grace. She answered a few of my questions and then hung up when I told her that I wasn't sending any money to anybody until someone told me what was going on. Then she hung up! I then called back a third time and got another young girl and she sounded just like the first girl, I asked her what was all of this about and she said that she was just letting me know that I was about to be arrested for a fraudulent check I wrote to a payday loan company. I didn't know what she was talking about so I told her to send me a notice in the mail with their letter head, street address, mailing address, and phone numbers. She asked why do I need all of that and I told her to send to my state governments office to make sure that they are a real company. She said that I should receive the letter in the mail in 7-10 days. She then goes on to say that this isn't a law suit its just seeing if I wanted to pay or just get arrested. I told her bring on the cops I work at a police dept. She then says well they wont have far to go, I said no they wont so why are you still talking there is no one at my door yet. She says well it hasn't been processed yet. Then she hung up with an attitude. KMSL these people are so worthless!!!!

Oh and yeah she said that they where out of Flint Michigan and when I searched by the number it clearly said Georgia. Someone doesn't know how to set up a website! When I asked her about that she says it doesn't matter where we are from......When it really does IF you want my money!!!! (NOT)

My brother and best friend recieved a call from this number, looking for me. The lady on the phone was rude to my friend and told him I had two charges against me. She never once told him who she worked for. My brother got a message on his voicemail saying the same thing. They even left him a case number. I ooked it up and did'nt find anything. if they have all this information on me why have'nt they called me. If they have my best friend's and my brother's number they should have mine.

Report them to local police and also state attorney general.

Got a call looking for my brother, did not give the name of where they were calling from.  Referred to my brother as a defendant, and if I had any information about him to either pass on the number or to call my self with his information.  Because I don't trust anyone as far as I can throw them, I looked up the number an this website of other testimonies is what I found.  Glad I did not bother my brother with this stupidity.  Thank you to every one else who posted.

Just got this same message to my cellphone! Referred to me as a defendant and stated I should call with any information.  I googled the phone number and this is what I found! Thanks everyone for taking the time to write your posts :) I feel better now! Was scared and confused for a sec before I realized that I didn't ever commit a crime, lol!

Tell them to not call again or you will report them They cannot collect

They will tell you all kind of crap but that's all it is ask for their address Send them a do not call letter or tell them over the phone you have a witness telling them DO NOT CALL again I have it recorded on my phone

It is scary that these are scam artists and they have all of my family's cell phone and my information. I ma not sure what list my name appears on, but it is wearing me out keeping up with them. I have an open file with police dept., and its frustrating as all get out that there is really nothing that can be done to stop the harassment.  Today they even called my work place, so not kosher!!  I just ran my credit report and have nothing outstanding with anyone, as I have worked very hard to clean up my credit and keep it clean. If there was an easy way to get rid of these Scammers I would be one happy person!

Received this call at my work and when I called about it, they were saying that they were investigating me for 3 different fraud charges, etc for a payday loan company called Money and More from March 2008, they this company tried to get in touch with me only thru email, never and calls or "valid" notifications thru mail. When I told the "Investigator" Taylor Bailey that I couldn't afford to pay the money they were supposedly asking for and she told me she would contact the lawyer and see if they could settle out of court, etc....she would call me back....well about 10 mins later she calls me back and proceeds to tell me the same "identical" story she just told me and acted like she hadn't talked to me before, so when I started to question her about it and asking the company name, address, phone number, she told me I could get all that info from their website and said it very quickly so that all I could make out was R McCoy and then asked me to hold....well I waited just a few mins and knew that it was a "scam" or I think a scam and I hung up...have not gotten a call back as of yet....probably won't for a little while.

These people knew my whole social, old address, the bank I used to bank with checking and account number and threatenede with jail. I gave them my card number after hysterically crying for 45 minutes just to call and cancel my card with the bank the moment I got off the phone and googled this number. How can they have all this info of mine????? They even called my job!!

They are Indian or Pakistani phone scammers; in some cases they are domestic scammers who buy information from  unscrupulous lenders.  Report them to local police also  see:
