This company calls me repeatedly on my home and cell. I want this to stop.

Stop signing up for free stuff!! Nothing is ever actually free. This is a timeshare deal. Look it up

annoying as hell. why doesn't the government do anything to stop these scammers?

That is a good post (I'm not with the co. and don't know who they are other than what I read here).  I'm sorry for the difficulty you had but I really enjoyed reading your work.

When I get a telemarketing call, I usually spend as much time on the call talking to them about my kids, my garden, and anything else that comes to mind.  I only have to do it once and at the end of this they usually hang up on me.  I attempt to keep them on the line and eat up their day.

They get paid (usually) by the dial. So if they have a non-buyer on the line that keeps changing the subject they will get out as quickly as possible.  So, consider changing your approach and irritate the heck out of them.  

We should see how long we can keep them on the phone and post that on here with their reactions.

Silverleaf Resort claiming you won a prize called 6 times yesterday are very annoying and persistent call from several different numbers, when you tell them you aren't interested they have something smart to say so I hang up on them, but they continue to call over and over I have 10 of there numbers blocked already but they keep finding more to use to call me

They asked if I was so and so. I asked them if they are a telemarketer. I hung up on her.

Somehow they got my number when I signed up to win free tickets to a Dallas Stars game. What pisses me off is that it was a Dallas Stars sponsored contest that I entered at the game so how did these clowns get involved. I don't answer but they've called twice since Saturday and both numbers trace to Silverleaf.  

nov 4 -- received two calls.. chose not to answer. no msg left -- from what i read this is telemarketing abt vacations.. no msg no return call if interested .. silverleaf shows up on caller id

SPAM - on do not call list and they don't stop

LOL !! So it's a scam call... I got to read you all before I visit them in person....... Thank you for updating the thread with your experiences....

NEVER ANSWER UNKNOWN NUMBERS!!  Let the callers leave a VM.  If no VM is left, disregard the number or add it to the 'SCAM' file with an attached 'silent' ringtone.  When that file is full..........start another file with 'SCAM2' as the name.  Continue to do this until if / when the gubmint decides to crack down on telemarketers (cybershitheads).

Well you guessed it, I also received a phone call from 866-804-8589 today and was told that I won a vacation and another prize (a car or money).  I thought it might have actually been legit because they mentioned my name being drawn from a raffle I entered at the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show so I scheduled an appointment.  I was still curious about all of this so I typed in the number on google and came across this page.  After reading 3 pages of complaints and one post from a former employee I decided that it was too good to be true.  Also, the raffle I had entered was for a $1500 shopping spree for Cabela's and definitely has nothing to do with the company calling me.

So I just called to cancel my Sunday appointment, phone number I was given to call initially to set up the appointment is 800-720-5621, and a woman named Linda answered.  When she asked why I am cancelling my appointment I told her because I forgot I had a prior obligation that day (which is true) and that I read about it online and that is a scam.  She tried to assure me that it isn't a scam and that I will be receiving my prizes as long as I go and sit through a 90 minute presentation.  And when I told her that I have to cancel, she told me that once the appointment is cancelled that I automatically forfeit my opportunity to claim my prizes.  But!  Earlier that day the first person I talked to told me that there were plenty of appointments on Tuesday and other days of the week.  She also sounded very sad when I still decided to cancel.

Sorry this is a long post, but I hope I don't get harassed like everyone else posting their experiences and I hope that no one falls for the scam like I almost did and ends up wasting their time and possibly their money.  So thank you to everyone for posting their stories and a special thanks to the former employee for breaking it down for us.

Seeing people say it is SilverLeaf.  I did sit through one of their pitches and yes it was 3 hours instead of the promised hour an a half.  We did get our free gifts including the trip.  Our trip was to Vegas for 2, the problem with the "free" trip was you fly out to Vegas the evening of day 1 and fly back early morning of day 3. So you only got 1 real day in Vegas for their "3-day" trip, and the hotel was 14 miles off the strip.  So we paid $500 for the upgrade to the premium trip.  We actually got 3 full days in Vegas and was in hotel between the main strip and the old strip.  It turned out to be a good trip.  But if your looking to get the "free" trip it is definately not worth the hassle.  Heck even the $500 upgrade (which was about the price for the plane tickets, so amounted to 2 free nights in the hotel) wasn't worth the hassle.
