I found out that these people are not allowed to leave a message by law. They must speak to someone, hence all the phone calls if you do not answer. And yes, they are calling to get your vote. I finally answered the phone this morning and blew off at the lady on the other end. I will block them for sure.

They are now blocked for 90 days. Yay!

Got call from 866 828 9088..  and talked about one of my IRA accounts.  (Gold). I asked why they were calling me on Sunday, and he replied they were working today.  I asked for the information in writing...

NO, they AREN'T calling to get your vote. If they were they would have stopped calling after the deadline to vote (Oct 17th) has ended.

They CAN leave a message. Like they left me a messsage the FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD time they called. I didn't want to vote so I ignored the call.

They are not kosher. They are out to steal your personal info. Best advice is not to pick up. Let it ring the full 4-5 times so they get to have their time wasted.

Also, do yourself a favor and have your cell/landline provider BLOCK their number. If they really want to get in touch they can send something snail mail.

What cell provider do you use? They should be able to put a permanent block on these bastrurds.

3 calls yesterday and 7 (!!!!!) calls today, about every 2 hours!!!!!  I never answer my UNLISTED phone number with DNC.  So all the calls went to my answering machine with no message, just caller ID.  

I get at least a dozen calls a day but have never picked up.  Seems I also can no longer block call with my Verizon home service.  I was getting several "private" calls a day and was able to block those and the 866 calls increased.

I filed a formal complaint with the Massachusetts Attorney General's office. If you want to do the same, here is the web address of contact information for SPDR's agent: http://www.spdrgoldshares.com/usa/contacts/.  Google the attorney general for your state to find out where you, too, can file a formal online complaint against these people. Let's all do something more than just vent here on this website!

Verizon FIOS doesn't allow blocking any phone numbers, unless I'm missing something. How crazy is it that you can't block a number!

They called 7 times yesterday and twice this morning!!!  Just stop calling, or we are taking some actions!

This number calls my personal cellphone several times every day, although and of course my cell# has been on the DNC list for years.  If I were king the perpetrator(s) would be hanged.  Enough.  May someone please publish their personal contact information including home address.  If they break federal laws that are a matter of public record then their identity should also be a matter of public record.  

I blocked this number from my phone but it still rings through at least once a day! How do I stop this? #^$%!!

This number has called my personal cellphone (which has been on the DNC list for years) multiple times every day for months now.  I will not answer.  I've reported it at FTC.gov but the harassment continues daily, evenings, weekends.  I hope the perpetrator dies in prison and the calls end.

They call four or five times a day, everyday.  Have turned in a coplaint to the Do Not Call list but still does no good.  I want them to stop!!!!!!

We have no idea who is calling.  We get as many as 6 calls a day, every day.  They are never answered.  We have recording device but nothing is ever captured.

Calls EVERYDAY 4 times a day past two months. Blocked but rings through. They are driving me crazy. O useless do not call list. STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop calling us night and day.  We are tired of receiving your calls and will never answer them anyway.  

This caller calls about five times a day, and never leaves a message.  It is very annoying!

As others have said, this phone number is from a company called D. F. King on behalf of GLD (World Gold Trust Services).  I have them blocked, but they're still trying to call me (I can see the number on my call log).  GLD is trying to get their shareholders to vote for two proposals, and they keep trying until they get the number of votes needed.  The latest paper letter from them says they again extended the voting period to Feb. 27, 2015.  The above phone number, 866-828-9088, is printed on the letter as the contact to call D. F. King for questions about the proxy voting card.  Their letter implies they will keep trying to contact me until I vote.  I think a non-vote is functionally the same as a no vote, so I haven't yet bothered.  GLD management really seems to want these proposals to pass, and is trying to spend fund money on all these paper mailings and phone calls.  A "yes" vote would have the fund pay an outside group a flat rate of 0.40% of fund NAV per year for fees and expenses, which is higher than historical costs.  Why a shareholder would think this is a good idea, I have no idea.  I'd like to vote for new management.

If you are a shareholder, these calls and letters are perfectly legal.  You may be able to block them through your phone company, as I did, or better yet vote "no" on this bad proposal.  You could also contact GLD to let them know what you think of their phone calls.  The letter only lists a postal address:

If you're not a shareholder, you could tell them to take you off their list.  If you are a shareholder, they don't have to take you off any list, but I'd be surprised if they'd keep calling if you threaten a "no" vote.  This is harassing, but there's no reason to think this is a scam, unless by coincidence some scammer is using the same phone number.
