- B-Edwards replies to Mike LMessages from Card Member Services are scams. This is the infamous and long-running "Rachel" scam. The scam is usually about ID theft, but there are a few other wrinkles depending on the outfit running the scam at that number.
THERE ARE SHILLS IN THIS THREAD!
Be Very Careful about what others have posted here - esp posts that praise the "service". See the post above from Slim. - MichelleThis was a legitimate call from us bank fraud prevention. I called back on the number on my credit card and they had called me.

- Steve ProThe called I called the number on the voicemail they wanted my whole number I called the number on the back of the card fraud prevention and they knew nothing about what I was talking about.
- Caller: "card member services
- KDo NOT give them your information. We missed the call, called back, and literally the first thing they asked for was the entire card number. No name, security question, pin, anything. Fraud!!

- Robert| 3 repliesGot a call from "Sabrina" from 701-461-0010 at 12:50PM today, stating that there was an IMPORTANT MATTER they needed to discuss with me to prevent usage of my car. The call was not professional or she was talking too loudly into her handset/headset (e.g. lots of "popping" sounds). She identified a bank I do business with and provided the callback number of 866-828-9640. As I always do, I called the number of my bank to validate the call. The bank has no "Sabrina" and does not have phone #'s in the 701-area code. Could this still be legit? Absolutely. I am about to call another number for a major credit card I have that is branded with the same bank but issued by Elan Financial Services. That account is new and should not already have fraud activity on it. The older Elan account has already had to have its card reissued due to fraud. I blame all the companies that have our information and at least one major credit bureau for not properly safeguarding against data breaches. They spend such a small amount of money for what is essentially a very important responsibility on their part. Ultimately it comes down to the cost of penalties is cheaper than investing in their infrastructure. Were that to change they'd probably do things properly. All of this is such a huge time consumer especially while working. Frustration is just the tip of the iceberg, right now.

- BigA replies to Robert| 1 replySo what does your credit card have to do with not using your car?
- Robert replies to Robert[UPDATE] So I called my bank. Nothing there. Everything looked fine. I then decided to call the number on the back of my newest credit card (branded with my bank, but serviced by Elan). Surely enough it was them. They were verifying a recent balance transfer. I did let them know they needed to do a better job at identifying who they were since the bank name and department name given only added to the suspicion especially when my bank told me they knew nothing about it and did not have an employee by the name of Sabrina. Hopefully they will do better.
- Robert replies to BigAThat was a typo. Should have been CARD.
- Cecy PToday March 12, 2021, I received a call from this number 8668289640, about a card with US Bank. They called the landline of my new house. Phone that I have not yet given to the USBank Bank, only my cell phone. A fraud!!!

- Mahkk| 1 replyTurned out to be legit, but still best to only call back at a number on your credit card or statement!
I received VM saying they were with Fidelity verification dept (or something like that). I called the cust svc # on my physical card and they said the message was legit and they were confirming a balance transfer that I indeed initiated the other day. Funny thing (to me anyway) is the "To" account was my own at another bank and definitely on my credit report, from where they were pulling the verification questions to confirm my ID.- Caller: Fidelity

- Tygerkat replies to MahkkOh, look! Another shill. This thread is full of people who looked up a known phone number with no logical reason to do so.
- Mary c replies to FraudYeah they called me and got nasty when I said I'm not giving them my card number. This is a scam.

- MarthaI received a call on my cell phone but Caller ID said 'Spam Risk' so I didn't answer but they left a Voicemail, which said there was activity on my State Farm credit card last 4 #'s XXXX (now serviced by US Bank) and to call 866-828-9640. What was alarming is they had correct last 4 #'s of my credit card. After Googling the phone # and to this website I called the phone # on the back of my credit card instead and was told someone had tried to retrieve the cash reward money on my card. So it was a legit phone message so not sure why Caller ID said 'Spam Risk'.
