- Pam| 6 repliesThis is IQMS a debt collection agency trying to get me to "re-negotiate" a payment plan that I have in place with a medical provider. I've told them in writing and on the phone that I have an agreement with the medical provide and I will continue to make the payments as agreed until the debt is settled. I guess they don't like the previous payment agreement and think they can get blood from a turnip by threating me. I believe that as long as I continue to make the payments as agreed and on time their threats are useless.

- Elspeth replies to PamIt might be worth your while calling your medical provider and alerting them to what is going on. If you already have a payment plan in place, then you are A-OK; however, there are instances of scammers who call trying to get you to make payment to them and they have not been retained by the creditor in question.
Since they are also threatening you, report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General. If IQMS keeps calling you back, tell them you're recording them every single time they call, on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one). Scammers and shady debt collectors do not like to be recorded. - EGReceived a call from this number. I answered my phone, said "hello" and waited for an answer. I said "hello" again and asked if anyone was there...no answer, so I hung up.
There was no indication of being on hold or someone on the other end hanging up. - Luv Call Block! replies to PamNumber blocked. Problem solved.
- C.C. Credit Specialist replies to Pam| 3 repliesIf you account was transferred to a collection agency by your medical provider, then they are obviously not happy with your payment arrangement. They collection agency's job is to get the account paid in a timely manner; after all, the services were rendered and they still haven't been paid. It's all a business. It's because of people not paying their bills on time, that these bill collectors have a job in the first place.
- Elspeth replies to C.C. Credit SpecialistShe stated she already HAS a payment plan in place - the medical provider can't just arbitrarily decide to renege on the agreed-upon terms if she's been paying faithfully.
- JSBottom feeder medical debt collector. Called about my sister's account. No idea how they got my number.
