Said there was fraud on my m&t debit card

Got the same call, I don't have a card with M and T.  Never give your card number over the phone, the bank knows your number, they issued it to you.

I got the same automated number but I didn't answer it . I don't recognize so I never pick up unknown numbers.. They left a message and said my debit card might of been compromised & there might be a hold on debit card I call back and verifying identity..and when they said the name of my bank all could hear was your bank than the voice was not clear enough to hear the name of the bank they were referring to
As mine. I never give outy infor like that.. I check my bank phone numbers.,I see by looking here they indeed were quite busy scamming or trying their best to scam ppl! I happened to be online last night on my cell watching a free movie on a site of new releases .  Not stupid I know it's a scam besides if I really thought this was true i would certain call my bank anyways to verify the call!
Sorry you scum bag low life scam artists out there but I  am one step up on u'! And not dumb enough to believe this.

15 min ago got call. Let go to voice mail. My bank does not have Sun. Customer Service hours by phone. Checked my account on line all is same as earlier. Pray no more people respond to this obvious SCAM. Thank you for this search opportunity.

I don't have an m and t account. Called the 866 number and they have it set up as if it is a real bank. Scammers. Do NOT give them ur debit or credit cars number

I got a call ony cell just now. Because  I  didn't  recognize  the  number it went to voicemail, the message wanted me to call back on my M&T bank account. I never had an account  with  that bank and knew it was a scam, because  their robo  caller kept skipping.

Recorded message said there was possible fraud on my debit card, instructed me to return the call, and gave me the web address mtb.com, the website of the M&T Bank.  I knew the call was a scam because I have no M&T Bank account or debit card.

Sitting on the couch and got a call. Saw it wasn't in my contacts and denied it, got a voice mail saying something about a debit card that I don't even have. At one point they said to log on to mtv.com to check my account.

called a few minutes ago on my cell..same message as others..a debit card but no last 4 digits given , no bank given, a recorded message

Husband then I received same calls.  No M&T Accounts.  How are they getting cell numbers?  We have Verizon - are they sharing #'s?

I did not recognize the number, but answered it because I wanted to see what scam was going on. Tells me it is mtbank fraud dept and to enter my card number.
Hmmm, first, I dont give  info to machines or strangers on the phone.
I know my MT bank's 800 number by heart and this is not it.
I figured it was a scam.
so hung up and blocked the number.

Always some scammer harrasing someone. It just never stops.

SCAM...called my cell phone claiming to be M & T...I do not have M & T account. Really!!!  Two hours later they called my husbands cell phone with a variation on the same message but didn't say they were M & T until late in the message. SCAMMERS...NEVER call the number that is given. ALWAYS hang up and call the number on the back of your card and NEVER punch your information into an automated system like that. Talk to a real person from your bank...too many bad guys out there trying to part you from your hard earned cash!

Got a call from this number (866.848.3385) and they said they were M&T Bank, who we have not done business with for 4 years. The voice said they were calling about a breach of security; to access customer service, I needed to input my 16 digit card #. I delayed, and got a prompt saying to press 1 if I needed time to look up my acct. #. I pressed 0 and was told that was an unrecognized account #. I hung up. M&T Bank does not have any 866 #s that I can tell.

This was a scam.

Got a voicemail pretending to be m&t talking about my debit card. I tried to call them back and say vulgar things but they needed a card number so that ended that.

Just got a call from this number... Did not answer then it left a message asking for my M&T Bank debit card number, which I do not  own.  Thanks for all the responses, it helped me verify that this was from a shady source.
