- RoseThis number is using a weird first name that Just Energy also uses. I believe they are one and the same and I wish there was some way to make them go away.

- Caller: CIBC Visa
- Call type: Debt collector
- KaiNot when they utilize various phone numbers to go after you, no.
When CIBC doesn't work, they use RBC, then a Collections Agency on a 905 number because they know people would respond to a 905 vs a 855 or 866.
They also target people who likely have a voip phone as it's easier to spoof their line and hide it.- Caller: CIBC
- JoI got a call from them last night, I did not pick up because neither my husband nor myself have any dealings with CIBC and figured they were trying to promote something... A short while later my mother-in-law called to tell me there was a message on her machine looking for someone whose name sounded very close to mine. Only problem is They had the wrong initial for my middle name and my MIL wasn't even sure if they really said my first name right (strong accent). But the real icing on the cake, they said for HIM to call the office within 24hrs. Last time I checked I was all female ;). I assumed that my MIL must of given them my number, but NO!!! So I'm not sure if they were calling random people who have the same last name as me, hoping to get lucky and find the guy they are looking for or what.... But it is super annoying!!!!!
- Call type: Debt collector
- jtGot a call from this number last night. Strong foreign accent - had to listen to the message about 4 times before I was able to get the number he left to call. "Urgent banking matter! Must call before 11pm EST!" We waited until morning to call and the number was not in service! So we call Visa - they were confident it was a scam call. Word to the wise never give info over the telephone and Visa will ALWAYS ask your security question before collecting any information from you.
- Caller: Claimed to be CIBC
- Ready to Sue ThemRepeated calls from CIBC ( Fake ) asking for personal information. Did not give any info to them but told them that if I needed anything from them I would see my bank manager in person. Told them if they call again I will be persuing legal action against them. Still recieve calls from them daily. I refuse to answer any unkown calls now. I have also filed a complaint with my cell provider for making my info public to these people.
- Caller: CIBC ( Fake )
- LarryIt's a legitimate CIBC # so long as you dial it and they pick up - they simply said I was a bit late on a payment but if left unchecked it would get out of control and affect my credit rating. They did me a favour actually 'cause the fault was on my end. They only called a gizzillion times without leaving a message because it was automated - call them back a see for yourself, and cross-reference the number with their (also legitimate) website - also 1-800-256-8580 CIBC is legit.
The problem is if you pick up on that number displayed and it's actually someone ID spoofing that number - but if you call it back your o.k..... at the risk of repeating: If you call the number it's legit, but if the number calls you, just be careful- Caller: CIBC

- Still KicknThe number calls 5 to 7 times a day 6 days a week. This number should be CIBC Visa reminding me
to pay on time etc . The problem is under Canadian Law they are calling way to often which leads me to believe this is now a hijacked number either spoofed . The number goes to my voicmail with a call list I have of over 110 calls in one month from this number ,after that many calls you would think that they would leave at least one message (NO,NO,NO) which leads me to beleive this number is being spoofed heavily as I have an IP phone system. Also is itthe country code of coming from Canada anymore or the US . I started to recieve emails from CIBC Visa but a check of the email tags showed
the country code of Venezuala . For now I will ignore these calls Identity theft can be devestating.- Caller: CIBC
- Call type: Scam suspicion
