received phone call from this number at 5:01 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2008.

i picked up, and they hung up immediately.

    i have at&t, so i don't have any association with sprint/nextel.

why would they be calling me?

Sprint is a great company and I'm glad they care about their customers enough to conduct surveys!  Of course, we would rather have perfect service for free and without hassle and without answering questions, but quality service and relationships and communication all take time.

Take time?  Phones have been around since the late 19th century.  How much time is it gonna take?

I remember when phone companies didn't take any surveys, and the service was just fine.  Perhaps the money they spend on surveys would be better spent elsewhere.

ever since sprint merged or took over Nextel i constantly get harrassed either by them calling trying to suck me into something else that i don't want and would have gotten it before on my own if i did. text message almost every month a week before end of cycle saying account is over due and it's only by $10 (plus or minus) and still have plenty to go on my limit before service shut off. and snail mail. I HATE SPRINT AND THEY ARE GOING TO PUSH ME TO CANCEL AND SCREW THEM OUT OF ANYTHING I OWE AND REST OF CONTRACT. LOVED MY NEXTEL....

I reported this number to Sprint/Nextel and they told me that they have never heard of this number and/or service. I asked them to investigate this number.

This is s scam!!! DO not answer ANY questions...

They started the call by asking me if they were calling me on my Sprint/Nextel phone or my land line phone. So I asked him, "wouldn't you know this, if you were calling on behalf of Sprint/Nextel?" I told him I would not be providing this info to him, and he then politly thanked me and said have a nice evening!! SHAM

It is really Sprint/Nextel. In my case, they are calling to give me a survey regarding my recent call to their customer service center.

Got a call tonight from this number asking if I had time to take a 12-15 minute survey on my Sprint service.  I declined and they just said thank you and hung up, phone call was weird not the usual pushiness of a telemarketer which raised my suspicion.

10/02/08 12:41 p.m. thursday. call from 866-877-9830  hung up when my unlisted home phone answering machine picked up. reading all these other posts, have to assume it is sprint which is my mobile carrier. (used to be nextel-miss them.) i had occasion to call sprint customer service couple of months ago. maybe they're still trying to figure out how they're doing. wouldn't have to check if they did their cust. service job right to begin with.
thanks to everyone for help on this pesky number.

sprint was probably getting too many opt outs on that line.

First of all, it is sprint b/c i just canceled my contract with them and they call twice a day, which SUCKS ... just like the service.  I decided to pick up, not only did they pronounce my name wrong (its a VERY simple last name) they called after 8pm! She said she wanted to conduct a survey for customer satisfaction and as to why i left sprint/nextel... "its only going to take 12 minutes" ... thats what she said to me.  ONLY 12 minutes? why would i give you 12 minutes of my time for a service i no longer have, so i care nothing about them bettering themselves? anyways, she insistently asked why i left them and i said well for one reason, courtesy.  You just called me after 8pm and woke my baby, if thats not good enough for you i get double the minutes for HALF the price with us cellular, so go learn some math skills and recalculate your rates and maybe with that, you'll learn how to tell time and not toll free call someone after 8pm for [***]! YESH! :)

oh, and by the way.  If you work for a phone company (such as..sprint/nextel) why wouldnt you pay to have the Caller ID come up with your company name, and not "Toll Free Call" ??? huh?!

It is just a survey.  But, it is a really LONG survey.  I took it because the guy seemed okay and I rattled him a bit at first so I felt bad for the kid.  They don't ask for any info other than if you're satisfied.

As far as whether or not they call after 8PM or before 9AM check your state laws.

I completed the survey and probably made the poor guy a buck or two for doing so.  We were all young once and trying to make a few dollars to get through school or to hang out with our friends.  If you have time take it, if not tell them to put you on their do not call list or don't answer the phone.  Pretty simple.

If their mgmt is reading this, shorten the survey.  You really don't need that much information to figure out where you can improve.  If you do, then maybe you should start over and take another look at what you are offering rather than looking for a confirmation as to whether or not what you are offering is sufficient.  Just my two cents.  Take it or leave it.

Yep, just got a call from this number.  I did not pick up. If it was sprint it would help that they would identify themselves on the caller ID.

I have been called by this same number (866) 877-9830. And what really makes me mad is that they choose to call me on the weekends or even at 8 pm at night. I have never answered any of there calls because if I don't know the number I don't answer..... If its so important they can leave a message.
Which they don't do. So that tells me its telemarketers. They never leave a message. So here I am wasting my time on the internet investigating this number. Well now I have gotten to the bottom of this I know I will never answer. Oh yea I am a AT&T customer.       zCat

They call me on my private cell phone. On weekends and in the evenings after 8 PM. I thought it was against the law for telemarketers to call private cell numbers. (they don't pay my cell bill) But it cost me my mins.

    Disgruntled Sprint Customer
Got the call... didn't answer. I have had Sprint for years now, and YES, their Customer Service is worst than average and I cannot get service half the places I travel to.

I wish they would allow me to drop them, but they sucked me in with a "deal" that kept me on that I cannot get out of until the end of 2009 unless I pay $200.00 per line (I have 6 lines).

Didn't have one bad issue with them the first 2 years of having them, but this past year, THEY have been horrible!

And don't even try to go into a Sprint store to get something straight. It's like peeing up a rope!

Seems this number has been a problem for a few years now, can't something be done to stop them?
