Yep, I got taken too! My local radio station advertised it on their Web site so I assumed it was a legit. In fact the way it was position on their site it appeared as if they actually "endorsed" the effectiveness of the friggin' stuff! So I figured what the hey I'd try it for a few bucks. Once I saw that they were going to charge me a "subscription" fee of $79+ each month I called them and spoke to a woman who told me I had to send the crap back and then and only then would they refund the charge. Here's the kicker for the return though, they want you to accept a $6.99 UPS return ticket to send it back. I told her I'd mail it and she hung up on me. So a week later not only did the "Dazzle..." charge show up for $79.28 now I have another charge from "Healthclns" for $79.95!!! The FTC needs to be on top of this scam. I'm sending this to them for review, but the damage has been done to probably thousands. Is this a great country or what :-).

I, too, fell for this scam, dangit, so after reading some blogs, I immediately cancelled my bank card (used one that had super low balance) and they are issueing me a new card.  This probably stopped the second company from getting any money but not the first company.  They nabbed $79.99.. my bank said after it clears, they will be on it and I will get my money and overdraft fees back, guarenteed.  So, cancel the card, get new card...ONLY SURE WAY TO END THIS....and get your bank on it!

I too got scammed the same way.  Fortunately, it was caught in time, meaning the payment is still "Pending" at the bank but in the meantime, I had to cancel out my debit card and now I must wait 5-7 days for a new one.  The bank is on it and if it goes through they'll reimburse me and open an investigation.  I usually don't fall for this stuff but I was interested in getting a whitening system for my son, whose having serious issues with his teeth.

i had the same problem I was VERY irate when I spoke to the customer service representatives. They told me I had to return my product within 14 days to get my money back but it's been 12 days and I've never even RECEIVED the products. They also charged me an additional $49.95 after I specifically told the representative that called me that it was NOT authorized. I have filed a complain with the BBB and have a feeling I will be fighting many more battles with this company before it is resolved. :(

okay I am a young college student who, because I'm in college, has little money. I was taking a trip to visit my boyfriend and my gas light came on just as I got to his apartment I went inside to look at my bank account and had negative 130.00 dollars in my checking... How was I supposed to get back home. I was in tears at the site of my bank account and had no idea what had happened considering I just had a paycheck a few days earlier!
I went through my bank statements and found that yesterday two charges of 79.95 went through for healthclns. If that wasn't bad enough I found another charge about a week earlier for 48.92 and many small charges in between labled as charges to Visa International Service Fees.
I took it upon myself to write down everything and call the number provided in my bank statement for HEALTHCLNS. I first spoke to a man who could barely speak english and he tried to convince me that he was the only representitive that could speak with me at the time. FALSE- I said I want to speak with your supervisor in charge of costumer complaints immediately and he tried to convince me that the supervisor was on another call so I said you can put me on hold and he continue to try to get me off the phone by using the excuse that he may not be able to find his supervisor... After ten minutes of being on hold I spoke with a woman who may have been thirteen years old, I told her that expect my charges to be reversed immediately. I had called this company the day I bought the 0.99 free trial and told them that they need to contact me if they intend on taking money out of my account. They violated my rights and could care less. The woman tried to tell me that she has no record of me calling the company and that I should have read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS better. I told her that I will be contacting the FTC. BBB, as well as the Attorney General and she informed me that they are all aware of this product and see nothing wrong with the company because they provide the TERMS AND CONDITIONS. She ended up only giving me a 40.00 credit to my account meanwhile I am now stuck 4 hours away from my home with no gas in my car and negative 100 dollars to my name... THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF LYING THIEVES WHO ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO AREN'T FULL OF MONEY BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT BY ONLY TAKING 70 DOLLARS OR SO WE AREN'T GOING TO SUE THEM BECAUSE WE CAN'T AFFORD IT WELL I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DAY THAT THEY SCREW UP AND CHARGE A WEALTHY PERSON WHO CAN STAND UP FOR US ALL AND TAKE EVERYTHING THEY HAVE GOT!!!

ps-- can someone explain to me how this is legal??? Because I specifically told this company that cannot charge my account without my permission and somehow they found a loophole?????

Same problem for me. I was charged $79.95 after I canceled the product. I called to cancel two days after I ordered the stupid free trial to Clean Whites because I noticed that they automatically signed me up for their monthly subscription service. When I cancelled, I verified with the representative that my account was cancelled, that I would receive no further charges, and that I needed to do nothing further. The rep said that I did not need to return the product and that I wouldn't be charged for anything else. I even received two emails from the company stating this. But I was charged $79.95 anyway and when I called this number they told me that in order to get a refund I could do two things: keep the product and receive only a $40 credit or send the product back by paying for a UPS label they would send me. I told them I had proof of them saying that I didn't need to return the product and that they would not charge me again and all the rep said was "Well you didn't read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS carefully enough". I told her "Well let me speak to a supervisor then". She put me on hold for a while and then told me no supervisor was available and to leave a call back number. Like a lot of other posters on this site I also saw this free trial on msnbc and I thought it was legitimate but apparently this is a SCAM. Dazzlesmile also gave me troule but luckliy they refunded me my money! I have the address for CleanWhites from the free trial package they sent me if anyone needs it for a BBB report. I certainly will be reporting them and it looks like I also should cancel my card to avoid further charges. Hope this all works out for us! Good luck!

I also ordered the tooth whitening systems and was charged $50.00. I immediately blocked my card and got a new one and I'm going to go to the bank to see what they can do. I'm also on hold with the police right now. I called and was told that I would be refunded the $50.00. but I dont think they'll be able to since I have a new card. The police just told me that I could fill out a fraud report and hung up on me. There's not much that I can do I guess. At least I only got nailed for the 50 and not more. It's stil not right at all though.

Same thing here.  I've had a 79.95 and one over $87 come up. Both are in dispute.  I was able to "cancel" but don't count on that stopping the charges.  I've decided to close my card account and open a new one with another company since Capital One says they will continue to accept charges from these clowns and I will have to file a dispute every time.  This is a real pain.  I feel for those of you who used debit cards!

When I called, I just didn't take no for an answer, just kept repeating that those terms and conditions didn't come up when I ordered (I am absolutely sure because I was concerned about that at the time) and that they better not send me anything or charge me for anything further.  They said I could send the product back but they would refuse it, then sent an e-mail saying they had cancelled the account and wouldn't send anything further.  I don't believe it.  A scammer is a scammer.

Good luck to everyone who has encountered these people.  Hope it all turns out okay.

no one called, but on my bank card statment I was charged twice on 9/20 79.95 and on 10/3 83.90 with healthclns.  I called 18772926892 and spoke to bretty who had broken english and explained that I had canceled my order on 9/4 due to numerous calls from solicitors and never recieved the product.  I was told that day that my acct was closed and was surprised to find out that it was still active.  I had to explain several times because she could not comprehend what I was saying, she told me that she could credit the 79.95 then changed her mind and said she could only credit 40.00 then she settled for the last charge of 83.90 but I would have to return the product. I explained that I have not recieved any product. You need to cancel within 30 days of ordering the trial size, which I told her that I canceled the next day, but she would not credit the 79.95 so I will call my credit card company. I will never order a trial size of anything anymore.

I also sent for a "free sample" of clean whites for a total of $.97 and then I got a phone call from them saying that I would be charged $79.95 for their kit and I told them I didn't want it and to cancel it.  They sent me the free trial anyway, and then I was charged the $79.95. I called my bank and they gave me the number of Healthclns, 866-878-1512, they also gave me a dispute number for my bank to call if I didn't recieve a full refund from Healthclns.  I called the Healthclns number and the gentleman was very polite and told me he would credit me $40.00 and cancel my account. So I thanked him and told him I was calling my bank to dispute the other $39.95. I don't know if my bank will be able to take the rest off, but I know I will NEVER send away for anything like this again.  It's a rip off.

I just ordered 3 things from this company Dazzle white tooth paste and whiting pen and a colon cleanse product. They only took the fees that they said. But I only did this yesterday. Low and behold...I'm watching the news last night and they did a story on these 99 cent trial ads that are a scam and they just want your credit card #. I woke up this morning and got the phone # off of my online bank and typed it in Google and this site came up. After I read everything that was on this site...I went right to my bank and closed my account and they also called the people who watch your account for fraud and made them aware to watch for anymore charges. Right now I'm only out about $6...weather I get the product or not I don't care about. But at lest the news did a report on this "Buyer Beware" and maybe things like this site will help. Lesson well learned. It goes back to the old saying...IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

I ordered Clean whites about 2 weeks ago and a few days after ordering it I received a call from this number twice.  The first time I was in the shower and they talked to my husband but because he was not the card holder they would not talk to him.  They called back and tried to get me to accept a kit that I refused and told them not to send it.  The guy immediately hung up.  However my account was charged twice in the amount of 79.99 anyway. As the charges are just pending right now and I have not been charged the bank has not returned the money.  After reading this Im going to be canceling my card and ordering a new one.

I called 877-292-6892 and was told my account would be cancelled, meaning no addition charges, but they have a policy not to refund 79.95 after the trial period is over.  I then called 877-292-6892 and was told a refund would be issued and I did not need to return the sample.  They also sent a confirmation email.  Good luck to everyone as this is a scam and they treat each caller differently.

I also agreed to two free 14 day trial samples (pay only shipping),
99 cents for one and $1.95 for the other.  As seen on ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC. Based on those authoritative sources I trusted it as legitimate.  I received my samples and my credit card was charged those two amounts plus $79.99 from HEALTHCLNS.  They sent me two 3/4 filled syringes, one supposedly is the whitener and the other supposedly a remineralizer.  Both weren't labeled and looked exactly the same, so I didn't know what I had.  When I called them at 866-873-4071, after having the product for 9 days, they said the 14 day trial began the day I ordered.  What a scam, the product takes 5 days to get to you.  When I told them about the two syringes being unlabeled and looking exactly the same. They offered to reship, and I said no thank you.  Then they offered to knock down the price to $40.  I said no way I just want the $79.99 credited back to my cc. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but they said they were tied up, but that they would call me back, and I never heard from them.  The company that charges the 99 cents goes under two names, Smile Bright and Clean White.  The product address is 300 NE 62nd Street, Miami, FL  33138, but the charge on the credit card statement is from outside the country CY (Cyprus maybe?)  The other company which charges the $1.95 shipping charge is called DazzleWhite with an address of PO Box 10233, Des Moines, IA  50381, the charge on the credit card statement is also from outside the country CY (Cyprus?)HEALTHSMILE.  My advise, contact you cc company let them know what happened, cancel your card, and spread the word on these scam artists.

I was also scammed and am fighting it-disputing the charges with my credit card company and sending the letter below to the company documenting my experience with the product and their scam.  I am also sending this letter to Fox News, my state Attorney General and the BBB.

    Clean Whites
    300 NE 62nd St
    Miami, FL  33138

    To Whom It May Concern:

After seeing an ad on www.foxnews.com that a woman combined Dazzle Whites and Clean White sample products and got good teeth whitening results for a minimal investment, I decided to give it a try.  Because I trust www.foxnews.com, I thought I could trust this ad.  If I knew then what I know now, I never would have ordered these 2 products.

I soon saw the 2 charges hit my credit card for $1.95 and .99 on (date) which I expected.  This past week, I noticed charges that posted on (date) that weren’t familiar to me for $79.95 with description "Healthclns" and $2.40 with description "International Service Fee".  I called my credit card company on October 22nd to get further information and got a phone number to inquire further on these charges:   866.878.1512.  Calling this number after hours, the recorded message was for something like "June Pure Cleanse" - still I had no recollection.  I did a Google Search and the type of websites that came up:  ripoffreport.com and callercomplaints.com.  Unfortunately, I learned that I wasn’t alone in being scammed.  From one of these complaint websites, I learned the phone number for Clean Whites: 877.292.6892.

I learned after calling the company on October 23rd that I had “agreed” to these charges when I signed up for the sample because I didn’t return the product within 14 days.  As I told the person I talked to, I NEVER would have ordered the product under these conditions and asked for reversal of these charges.  I had supposedly agreed to the $79.95 charge and it couldn’t be reversed.  I cancelled my supposed “order” to stop further monthly charges during that phone call.

I made another call to the company on October 23rd to ask further questions as to how I could possibly have missed this important information that I was ordering this product on a monthly basis.  I recreated my order on www.cleanwhites.com to try to figure out what I missed.  I entered mailing information and then clicked continue.  I was then at a webpage where I entered my credit card information and then would have clicked “Place order” and with the timer running that you only have 5 minutes to place your order, the implication is that you have to hurry to place your order.  I still didn’t see this important condition, but when I scrolled down the page, there was a “Satisfaction Guarantee" with the fine print I missed which as of today, October 24th reads:

"Start your RISK-FREE Trial today and we will send you a full 30-day supply of the Cleanwhites Advanced Teeth Whitening System. Just pay $5.95 in shipping and processing. You will have 14 days to try the Cleanwhites Advanced Teeth Whitening System and discover why it is the teeth whitening system for you. If you like how our system lightens the shades of your teeth, do nothing - at the end of your free-trial period you will be charged the discounted price of $79.95. If for any reason the system is not for you, call Cleanwhites Customer Care toll-free at 877-292-6892 within your 14-day free-trial period to cancel. Then simply return the product (even if it is empty!) and you will NEVER be billed for the product. No commitments, no hassles.

Plus, if you decide to keep the Cleanwhites Advanced Teeth Whitening System, you will receive FREE acceptance in Cleanwhites Elite and will receive a fresh supply of Cleanwhites approximately every 30 days at the same low price of $79.95, a 22% discount. You can cancel anytime by calling Cleanwhites Customer Care. No risk, no obligation, cancel any time!"

I feel this is is deceptive and want a refund of the $79.95 and $2.40 charges.  I have disputed these charges with my bank and also cancelled this credit card to avoid further charges.

I believe it is deceptive that you have to place your order quickly on the website which certainly doesn’t encourage scrolling down the page to read all information such as this “Satisfaction Guarantee” which is in fine print.  “Satisfaction Guarantee” doesn’t imply that it would have information about the monthly charges you “agree” to pay.  That should have been headed “Terms and Conditions” and should have had a box to click that you agree to these terms.  These terms and conditions should have been much more prominent.  And why is there an international service fee anyway?   The ripoffreport.com and other complaint websites are full of comments that many, many people believe they have been scammed.  Enter “Dazzle Whites” in Google, and most of the websites that appear first are scam, ripoff and complaint websites.  In my opinion from reading the websites, thousands have had to pay at least the first month's and possibly 2 months of these charges before they discovered the $79.95 charge and then cancelled the product and most likely blamed themselves for missing something when ordering.   I read a lot of the complaints and saw that even if you did return the product within 14 days it was hard to get the refund.

I have now cancelled my credit card due to fear that Clean Whites will charge me again, even though I have cancelled my order.  I haven’t used the product -  didn’t even open it -and now have no desire to even try it.  Please immediately reverse the disputed charges or send me a refund check for the $79.95 and $2.40 charges to my credit card at the address shown below.  These are not authorized charges to my account.

This CRAZY!!! I feel really dumb, but I still say that these people are manipulitive, underhanded and dishoest theves.  Using the term RISK FREE was a blatant lie.  If there are this many people complaining about this company and their product, surely something can be done.  I'm glad that I already check my bank account at least once daily.

Ditto for me!!!! I am fighting with them on the phone right now. They charged me $79.95 right away. After I called & fought with them, they agreed to refund the money, which surprisingly they did. However, now they have taken the money out again & are denying that they took it. Funny how my bank shows HEALTHCLNS took the money again. I think we're in for a big fight.....

    SMARTER THAT THE AVERAGE BEAR
I cancelled my credit card after receiving the trial package and I saw the paperwork that says they can charge each month. I called and got a return UPS label so I will return their junk but guess what  They are going to be stuck for the shipping charge because I called and cancelled my credit card before they charged me for the shipping so they lose!!!

What a scam! Buyer beware. Just Cancel your credit card and get a new one and then they can't charge you at all. Fortunately I gave them a different address than the one on my credit card but they didn't check that before they filed the original $3.95 fee.
I hope these scumbags get what they deserve. Their customer service is in Manila, Philipines. Good luck collecting from them if they charged you.
