Been getting calls from several unknown numbers. This being one of them. I just ignore for now.

Numbers like this call me like every week for over a year now..So annoying! I usually don't answer but when I have nobody speaks. I keep putting them on a reject list but once they get rejected a couple times I get a new number phoning me with just a couple digits changing! This has to be illegal! How the hell can we stop this harassment??

They are definitely CBV. I don't owe anything so I refuse to answer their call.

Calls daily since the beginning of summer , hasn't called in a month just started again asking for my significant other. No idea how they got my number, but they call regarding a cibc account when we don't bank with them. Today they called and asked for him, gave their telephone number and that is it. No name , extension, company or reason for calling , just hung up after.

They keep calling me and never leave a message I work 7-7 and have a 1 year old I can't always answer my phone when I did answer on my break one day they said it was urgent matter and to hold the line when they came back on 15 minutes later I had to leave and asked if I could call back later they said no they would call me and hung up

This is why a ONLY have a cell phone.
Put a  call block app on my phone   no more bull....t .   It works for me. It will work for you.

what are these jerks getting out of this?? cheap thrills???  HOW are the phone companies NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THESE "SPOOF" NO.s?   Indeed PUT A STOP TO THEM!!  HOW ARE THEY ABLE TO GET THESE SPOOF PHONE NUMBERS TO BEGIN WITH,  Does the CRTC not have ANY CONTROL anymore?? Or THE RCMP?  At least I don't need an alarm clock  HAW!

Got a phone call and a text message on my cell from CBV Collections stating that I had an outstanding debt with Sears Canada.  The last time I had a Sears card was 1994, 23 Years ago!!!

This is the CBV Collections calling from YET ANOTHER number, I've dealt with these folks a few times already. NOT EVEN FOR ME. They're calling for an exboyfriend who I haven't seen or heard from in 5 years (which means the debt theyre  trying to collect is already 5+ years old). When they call, they leave dead air messages, if you answer, you get dead air usually. You can hear people shuffling around in the background but you wont get someone to actually talk to you. I've spoken to someone a couple times, but Im not sure if its the same collection agency. I've told them I do not have contact with this ex they are looking for and have not for over 5 years. They said they'd take my number off the list. That usually stops the calls for a while. And then they start up again with the same cycle. I've tried to deal with this myself and it's obviously not working, so now I'm taking a log of every call, tracing every number, and will be contacting a lawyer. (I've been receiving these calls since early 2015).  Other numbers I get calls from that I've linked to CBV Collections are:

CBV are in trouble with the law themselves for some shady practices and violating the rules that debt collectors must follow. So, look into the laws, keep a record of your calls, and find out what you need to do to some these guys, because they will harass you until your dead even if your not the one they seek to collect the debt from. I'm an example.

I have the same problem - debut with Telus which I don't have. No written notice from Telus to begin with in last 5 years.
She asked my information so I asked hers first but she didn't give any such as the amount of debut (which is, btw, is a requirement for a proper collection agency to provide by law in NS). She got mad at me because I kept refusing to give my info until she gave me hers and hang up.
Next time I'll require her clear identification and tell that she is famous as scam online.

Phones at 7:39 in the morning. Didn't leave a voicemail. Has called before, with the same results. Not interested in entertaining these phone calls, especially if these people cannot get their information sorted as to who they are trying to contact and what contact information they are using to do so. For a number that has been in service to one specific person for upwards of 8 years, this 'collections agency' seems to have got quite an issue with outdated contact information if they are pursuing a person who used to have this number. But it could also be that this number was just randomly chosen by some deadbeat, to scam some company and then waste the time of some collections agency that cannot seem to figure things out or take a hint from the automated recording that informs them of who resides at this phone number. By all means, keep calling, I'll Google the phone number, and then probably decide to not answer the call, as I always do.
