I spoke to a man the one day about being a single mom on low income and barely making it by now so can't pay anything. He said ok then hung up. next day another guy calls saying it needs to be dealt with, I told him the same thing. He says "any family who can pay it for you?" umm no. then tells me the calls will continue till its paid and hangs up.

I even had my lawyer write a cease and desist letter, they simply began calling me from a new number.
currently calling me from the 6th different number, same company - still trying to claim money from a past due Rogers bill, despite the fact that I haven't had a Rogers account for 9 years. - Hannah replies to chelseaMake sure you do your research before talking to them or making any payments! Always ask for proof of the debt too. They'll say anything to pressure you to make payments so be careful! They can't take any legal action if you haven't made a payment in over 2 years.
- jAmckthis number keeps calling me as well. They do say they are from. CVB or CBV collections. They do ask for certain stuff to prove its me before they tell me what and who they are and calling about. So are they a SCAM or NOT?????

- Extremely replies to CraftyCanuckThe CNDNCL SELLS YOUR INFO to company's outside Canada who can operate with no fear of any criminal action because they're not governed by Canadian laws. I believe this was documented on TV by either W5 or The Fifth Estate.

- UnknownAnyone who simply gets a call from these toll free numbers, just tell them to take you to court, if they dont have all the files and contracts they need, they simply cannot take you to court. You DO NOT have contracts with third parties therefore you probably wont get further calls , if so , just say take me to court, and do not verify your name over the phone as they are to mail you first and can only call you 6 days after the mail was released. Do not pay a debt thats more than 6 years because after 6 years you are out of the sue/court process and after 7 years it will be removed out of your records. Hope this helps
- Don't call me mofoThey have been calling me daily for a week. Don't bother to answer thanks to this site.
I know this is a scam because I have always paid my bills on time. Always. In fact I am OCD about having unpaid bills. Pay them when they come.
DCMMF - Diane BerosI get at least 2 calls a day. It's very annoying.

- frig offOld school method of trying to collect debts... This isn't 1989 anymore. The days of collecting debts over the phone is well past its due date. I think they know this which is why they call the same people over and over 40 times per day. They re running out of people who haven't blocked all 900 of the numbers they call from.
- scammersCalled me about an account with rogers, I haven't been with rogers for 9 years. Told me they needed my DOB. I told them I wasn't giving info over the phone and asked who was calling. I think they said CBS. I told them that they can call themselves whatever they want but I'm not giving them info. They told me to do research and look them up, at which point I told them that it still doesn't mean I'm giving them anything and if they want anything, they will have to send a police officer to my house to get anything. They said "thank you" and hung up.
